Recent Review: It went great, better than I ever expected. Not only was it to city code, but they had all of the people in house, even someone to get the plat work! They handled the lumber and surveyor as well. Having this in house minimized our cost. The demolition was also part of the price, and they tore the porch down and took it away. It was very stress free. They showed a high level of commitment. They explained everything every step of the way.
Recent Review: Chris worked on building our new front porch project directly and was the most reasonable price of the multiple quotes I received. Didn't have a lot of reviews but I took a chance in spite of that after meeting multiple builders. He was responsive throughout, and quality of the work is great. I'd recommend contacting him for any porch or deck build.
Recent Review: Although our previous porch was in good, stable condition the city cited the porch for not being up to code. This forced us into a position to modify the porch up to the current code or replace the porch. We recieved 3 bids from Angies list companies. After hearing feedback from the 3 contractors we realized it is not financally logical to modify an existing porch vs replacing new. Frackeil handled everything. All 3 companies provided similar ideas and services, but Frackiel provided the most reasonable estimate. After accepting the estimate and putting a 1/3 down payment a date to begin work was scheduled 3 weeks in advance. They provided the engineer drawings and submitted them to the city. They secured the permit and began work on time. They secured the building materials, removed the existing porch in 1 day, and weather permitting had the new porch built in 5 days. A final inspection date was scheduled and they met the inspector there for final approval. Shortly after I attended my city court date and the violation and case was cleared. Frackiel did not bother me for payment until final approval from the city was provided. Bonnie was very helpful when it came to dealing with the city and helping me decide between a yellow pine or steel porch. She always was available and provided the necessary info on the phone. The workers were clean, diligent, and worked in a timely manner.

Recent Review: I requested proposals from a couple of other companies that did porch repairs or built new porches, but they were not interested in a small job or would only do complete replacements. Chicago Porch Authority showed up on time to view the scope of the work, made helpful suggestions and went over, item by item, the specific work they would be doing. Within three days I received a very detailed proposal via email. The work was done when promised and all debris was removed from the work site. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again.
Recent Review: The contractors were very professional. They came on time and worked diligently on the task at hand. They were so awesome they even provided some things we did not ask for. For example, we did not have a banister that lead to our basement from the outside, they built one. They even gave us a trellis under our stairs. They worked so hard, that they even worked through high winds, rain and hail. These guys were great! Hard working, kind and considerate. I can not say enough good things about this company. They deserve extremely high marks.
Recent Review: The process was slow only because of the obstacles I created and his high standards. He insisted on remeasuring when the site was completely ready in order to assure a perfect fit. He was very accomodative throughout and the end result exceeded my expectations
Recent Review: Overall, the job went great. The porch came down. The new porch went up. The roof was put on. Gutters and downspout were attached. Electrical work was upgraded with motion sensor lights. (An unexpected bonus.) At the final inspection we found a few items that needed to be addressed. They were taken care of in less than 48 hours. (Cigarette buts had been left in our side lot and they were picked up as well.) Sitko constructed a well built, structurally sound porch. The reveal for the metal brackets was slightly unsightly, but that's the new building code. The new porch will last for at least another 100 years. Sitko did a wonderful job. No complaints whatsoever. I would highly recommend J. Sitko Construction and will use them again.
The work was done very well. The repaired treads are better made than the weather-beaten ones when they were new.

At first I contacted Bald Eagle, which I found on Angie's List. For some reason Bald Eagle could not do the job. Cahill, who was recommended to me by Kevin of Bald Eagle, came out to assess the job, and a worker returned to break up top surface of porch and stairs and brick facing around porch and replaced with "new" concrete. When frame was removed, rough textured swirl patterns were left on the facing around porch, which were supposed to be smoothed out, but they were not. Two years later the surface concrete on the stairs is chipping as if someone has been hitting it with a hammer. When I contacted him in June about the current condition of the porch, Cahill claimed that the chipping was caused by the salt used to melt snow. However the chipping on the stairs started before the bad snowfall last winter, which I explained to him. He said he would come back to take a look, but I have heard nothing since I made the phone call last month.

I have no complaints about the porch repair. However, after completion of the project, Jacek Lawrenz (owner) friended me on FB. Thereafter, he posted a meme on my FB wall publicly criticizing my decision to take my 9-year-old son to the Women's March in Washington. He consistently posts "fake news" from sites like "Eagle Rising" and "Silence is Consent". He has attacked women, muslims, and other minorities on FB. If you are against this type of bullying and abuse, I suggest finding another contractor.

This has been a nightmare. They were all over the sale, but abandoned us after that. The worst part was that they used our $15,000 deposit to fund other jobs. Then they ignored us. We contracted with them on June 4th. Then nothing for a month. When pressed they sent us an incomplete porch drawing. It showed three concrete piers under the porch, but none under the house, which is the reason for the repair! As of August 4th they had not even come to our house. When I started asking for our deposit back Rob Cechinni, the companies owner, told me that we had to wait for other projects to be completed first. I believe that is fraud. He also told me he had to fire staff that were embezzling from him. He has put me off for weeks now. His company phone goes to an answering machine. His cell drops right into voicemail, which is full, and he won't respond to a text. The matter is now with my attorney. Honesty is always the best policy -- this guy didn't even show up. Consider them Pathetic Exteriors. I told him to do the right thing here. He has not, so until I get my money I'm going to make it my personal mission to share my experience with others. Next stop -- the Better Business Bureau, then full page ads in the local papers in Mchenry, Algonquin and Carol Stream. Look for my Pathetic Exteriors Facebook Page, my Pathetic. Exteriors gmail blog, etc.. You give your hard earned money in good faith and all you get in return are excuses. I wish you much better luck than I have had.

DAL was very professional and knowledgeable. There were some items that I could not decide on at the time, and DAL followed up with advice and an additional offer of help. I ultimately decided to hold off until a later time.

James was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, but suggested I consult another firm that specialized in exterior porch work and would be more cost effective He did look at the issue in detail and discussed how it could be remedied and specifically what to ask for . We shared our love of old houses and I appreciated his input,
