My Luna experience is a horrible journey tale. About 8 years ago I had Luna install Berber carpet throughout my condo. About 8 months after the installation, my carpet was literally unraveling. I called Luna and they honored their lifetime installation guarantee, letting me re-select a new product and pay the difference. Luna then installed laminate flooring in my condo. After 6 years there were about 8 large gaps between the blanks in my bedroom, living room, and entry way. The gaps were large enough to fit in two stacked quarters. I contacted Luna about this. They came out an inspected, and at the inspection the inspector said it was clearly an installation error. Luna never followed up with me. I called them after 3 weeks as was told they would contact me the next day. They never did. After I filed a complaint with the BBB, I finally heard back from Luna. They then claimed that it was not an installation issue but a product issue. They also pointed out that the product I purchased was no longer available. They could only patch my floor with a completely different product. I pointed out that since I have an open floor plan, that will not work because it would create a very strange aesthetic to have random patches of different flooring. In addition, they were only offering to replace the entryway floor, completely ignoring the gaps in the bedroom floor. Finally, after I called NBC 5 Investigates, Luna decided to honor their guarantee. They let me select a new laminate floor and they installed it. It took 6 months of hard work on my part to get them to hold up their end of their guarentee. My next step, which I ended up not needing to do, was to contact Lisa Madigan's office and let the Illinois Attorney General deal with Luna. In short, they do not have good customer service, offer poor quality products, and do not honor their lifetime installation guarantee. DO NOT USE LUNA. PS: Empire and Luna are the same company. UPDATE: My threshold warped, causing me to be unable to fully open my front door. This is an obvious fire hazard. I called Luna about this and they came out to look at it. The inspector removed the warped threshold and said that they needed to come back and replace the threshold and fix my door. This was on 9/6/14. I was told I would hear back within a week. One week later there was no response, so I called Luna. I was told the person to talk to was out of town and that I would hear back the next week. Another week later, I called Luna due to no response. I was told I would hear back by the end of the day Monday, September 22. As of today, September 23, I have yet to hear back from Luna, my door is still damaged, and I have no threshold.
