Alan Walter and Nick Flores
Recent Review: We were in the process of selling our home and needed the carpets replaced and tile work done. We contacted Lowe?s, Home  Depot and independent contractors for cost and time estimates. The area to be carpeted was approximately 1300 square feet. We settled on the team of Alan Walter and Nick Flores.  They introduced us to their carpet wholesaler, L. Bornstein  where we purchased a carpet that satisfied our quality and cost constraints. Alan and Nick with the help of one of their associates, handled both the carpet installation and repair of the tiles- which was a bit tricky- in a professional manner.  In addition, they repaired a structural problem we had with the foundation of the house.  Although they were engaged to install the carpet, they proved to be master craftsmen in other areas as well. We are very pleased with the end result and recommend this  team without reservation. They rightly deserve the 5 stars we have assigned them.

Recent Review: My husband contacted them by phone and scheduled a date to have the existing carpeting in our condo re-stretched. They were able to come in on pretty short notice - less than a week. The workmen arrived during the stated one hour time frame and went right to work. They assisted in moving a few pieces of furniture and worked around me as I was trying to get some painting done in another part of the condo. They vacuumed up the pieces of trimmed carpet when they were done.  The results made a great improvement in the appearance. It took them about an hour to do the work.

NIGOHSIAN CARPET & RUG
Recent Review: My husband and I have been purchasing carpet and rugs from Nigohsian for more than 15 years.  They always fulfill our highest expectations of both quality of product and service.  Bill and Charlene are enjoyable to work with and take the time to discuss the details of all carpets and the benefits of each type.  All of their products including wall-to-wall, rugs and floor runners are of the highest quality.   Almost every bit of flooring in our home was purchased from them.   As far as I am concerned, they are the only carpet and rug dealer I will ever purchase from.

AWALL TO WALL CARPET REPAIR
Contacted Jim at Wall to Wall Carpet Repair and he came out that same day to give an estimate. He told us that the carpet itself was in good condition, but it definitely needed to be stretched. He would be able to complete the job in a day, and gave us his hourly rate. When he came to do the job, he was able to get right to work as we had cleared a couple rooms for him to start in while we moved furniture in other rooms. In all, we had five rooms and a hallway done. Jim did a fantastic job. He was very friendly and professional. It's amazing what a difference using the proper tools make. It looks like we had new carpeting installed and we won't have to worry about a recurrence of the dreaded bumps!

FNational Floors Direct Inc
We had a representative from National Floors Direct (Don T.) come to our house on October 18, 2011.In a nutshell he told us that National Floors Direct (NFD) had very competitive prices, professional job with highly trained (by NFD) in carpet installation, very clean, and that their customer service was excellent ("we respond directly to any complain").  The salesperson (Don) basically oversold the company and left the impression that they were the best (best price, cleanest, stretch carpets the best, professional guys), and left an impression that any other company (including my DIY attempt) would not deliver.  The job in question was in our basement (that got wet from a broken water heater), the carpet I personally stripped and took care of.  The stairs leading down were carpet covered and were, in retrospect, in decent shape.  Don said that they would remove that carpet and replace it as well, and since he really promised to deliver the best we decided to go ahead with that as well.  We gave him on the above date a pers. check for $798.19.  The job was supposed to be, started and completed,on 10/24/11.  The crew that showed up, did so with the wrong carpet!!! (Don "quadruple" checked the carpet we had chosen).  We had to reject the carpet and costumer service said that they could not come back until 10/31/11.  Don't forget that this company even promises next day installation. At that time I called them to cancel and that I wanted my money back.  The customer person lady told me that she understood and that she would process it as a cancellation.  Two people from NFD called us the next day (10/25/11)to "help" us resolve the matter.  They finally offered to subtract $400 off the price and unfortunately we took the bait. They called us the day before the new installation date (10/30/11) to tell us that because of the snow storm in the northeast, they could not install the carpet.  They ended up coming on 11/2/11 at noon, and had to leave at 9:30 pm with an incomplete job.  I was reluctant to give them the cashier's check for the remaining $1200, and the head of the crew called the salesperson Don to basically complain about my reluctance, and that he told him that I needed to comply because it was a C.O.D. job.  I called Don personally and he told me the same thing and I accepted, but made him clear to him that he was responsible for his crew to come back.  They did come back but the job that they did (after another 5 hours) was sub-optimal at best.  There were multiple cracks and razor blade cuts on the baseboard.  The stairs are much worst than our previous 4-year-old carpet that we had before.  The carpet is not well stretched.  Also, I understand that the contract says that the seams might be visible, but in this case are super visible and today a big strand of carpet got stuck in our vacuum cleaner.  That never happened with our previous carpet. I called Don T. on Nov 3, 2011 to complain about the time it took, the poor workmanship, and the condition of my baseboards and walls, and he simply said that the condition of the baseboard was not their responsibility as stated in the clauses of the contract, and that I was free to call costumer service with any complain. I called customer service to complain, and the customer service lady told me to send them pictures and that they will contact me.  I sent them pictures on Nov 5, 2011 and I am still waiting for a response from NFD. In conclusion: I will never hire NFD again.  They say hindsight is 20-20, we should have hired the same guy we had before for our basement (he did not over promise and under deliver)
