Reviews in Boston to Install Dog Door

BBelieve It Or Not
The doors were replaced fine. I'd asked that he stain/finish the doors, which he agreed to. However, he only applied polyurethane to the outside of the exterior door...no stain or finish otherwise. Also, he did not read the install instructions on the doggy doors, installing them too low so that our large dogs need to scrunch down in order to go through the openings.

ATHANK YOU HANDYMAN
Very well. Bruce contacted me to schedule a time after I purchased the deal on Angie's List. We talked about my project, he asked detailed questions about the site and potential complications before confirming that the job could be completed in the time purchased. He asked for photos of the site and product to be installed in advance. He read the instructions and informed us if a step we skipped (we did not measure our cat's shoulder height). He texted to confirm our time the day before, and also when he was on his way. The job took longer than expected because the bolts provided by the manufacturer were the wrong length and had to be cut to size. Bruce did not charge us extra. Bruce did an excellent job ensuring a neat appearance of the finished installation. Spending a Saturday morning with visiting family rather than family drama over a cat door was priceless. We will definitely hire Bruce again.

He arrived within a few hours after my initial call. Came when he said that he would. It was a little job, so he was able to perform it immediately. Very nice fellow. I would recommend!

CRoyal Contracting
He came and did an estimate and then came back and installed the shelves. He charged me 3 hours for painting and priming and buying the wood which I could have done. I should have been more clear but I thought he would be able to do more in 4 hours for sure.

APAUL ON CALL
I found Paul on this site and gave him a call. He returned my call the next day (apologizing that he didn't get back to me sooner. Given that most other Handymen I called never got back to me, this was not a negative!). He gave me an estimate over the phone ($175) after asking some questions and he gave me his phone number. I called him back a few days later to setup an initial visit so that he could check out the door and determine what tools were needed. Paul came over on a Saturday morning at 9:45 am. He took a look at the door and said that he could actually do the work that day (instead of coming back, which would take 3-4 weeks). We were thrilled and said this would be great. Paul worked quickly and did an excellent job with the installation. He took the time explain to me why he was positioning the cat door where he was. After the job was complete, he cleaned up nicely (saw dust is hard to clean completely, so I don't hold it against him that there was some left over). The installation was done perfectly. Now we just have to train our cat to use it! Best part, since he was doing everything in one trip and the total time was less than he expected, I only paid $95! That's $80 under estimate! I will definitely call Paul in the future for any Handyman related jobs.

Marcello and Edson could not be nice. Edson was patient and professional. He was hard working and  eager to please. I look forward to doing more business with them in the future.

My husband marked the area for the dog door incorrectly. He failed to account for a height difference. These guys built a nice, very sturdy step/platform for our dogs to use on the deck so they could still get out. Okay r error, but they went above and beyond in making sure it worked out. The other handyman stuff- patching some plaster, etc also went well, but the dog door issue was the big thing.

AMr. Handyman of Central Middlesex
They are very punctual and competent. Also, very accommodating. We were unsure if the A/C would arrive on time, but they came anyway and started on the dog door until the unit arrived. They always clean up after themselves and leave the space as they found it, or cleaner. It was raining and the handyman was going to put booties over his shoes before entering my home, but I told him it was unnecessary. He did a very good job. It took a little bit longer than we had planned, but I believe that was my husband's estimate, not theirs.

AFrank Panameno Painting & Handyman
Fairly well ... the time he took to cutt a hole for the dog door took and a basement window was long because it was somewhat difficult. He did a good job; he showed me how to finish the caulking on the basement window because it was the end of the eight hours.

ASCOTT NUTTING
Scott came over quickly. He quickly suggested the least expensive way to do the job - he could have charge me a lot more! He also walked around the house with me and pointed out things that needed to be fixed. He is a very smart, experienced professional, and also a very nice person. I highly recommend him!

Recent Review: It turned out to be a very involved job as the cat door was really insufficient to fit through the concrete wall, which was a surprise.  However, Renato managed to install the door and patch the wall so that not only was it smooth as to not bother my cat, but looked as if the door was custom made for the job.  He was fantastic.  I was most impressed, however, with his respect for my home and professional behavior.  He asked me many questions to ensure that every detail was to my liking.  He obviously focuses on doing a job correctly, as was clear from the "simple" task of hanging my bike.  He searched, and found, the joists in the ceiling so that the hook was secure and able to hold the weight of the bike instead of simply putting the hooks where it was easiest.  Renato is a classic example of over-delivering.  No reason for me to look for another handy man, I'm simply calling Renato.
