Brandon and the crew did a great job laying sod in our yard and finished the job within a few hours. They were easy to work with and did a nice job cleaning up also.

CHastings Garden Center
The results were mixed, but overall I was very disappointed. Originally my estimate was $25,000. When I scaled back the design to $15,000, the landscaper (Bruce Wells)lost interest. They did not show up on the day the work was scheduled to start and no one called. The sod was laid fine, but the walkway had to be re-done a couple of times and I still don't like it. I had to keep calling the office to tell them of mistakes being made. Since then, I have called repeatedly to have documents (plats, etc.) returned to me. It has been 6 months and I have never received a return phone call.

ASod Sales Direct
I called 3 different highly rated sod companies on Angie's List, and asked them to come to my property and offer a bid. Phil Polak from Sod Sales Direct was not the lowest priced bid, but offered the best advice and value for the money. He and his crew did an outstanding job taking up the existing sod, leveling out my yard, and putting new sod down. He suggested building a wall on the one side of my lot to reduce erosion and flooding to my neighbor (my street is on a hill, where the house to the right of me is half a house higher, and the one to the left of me is a half a house lower). He replaced a partial wall I had there with a much sturdier and attractive decorative concrete wall. He and his crew were here 3 days and saw to every detail. I would highly recommend them.

DDirt Cheap Landscaping
Robert seemed professional in initial meeting reviewing scope of work and in presenting job estimate. He and crew started later the same afternoon. With 'bobcat' began to regrade area at end of driveway as well as ridding lowspots in front lawn of grass down to bare soil and continued effort the following day. At end of second day he asked there was any way I would consider advancing him $600. as he had not received check payment for another job in neighborhood. Like a 'chump' I did. They returned the 8th (following Labor Day) and spread sand as filler of gaps between sod. Sod was of very poor quality as far as smooth/clean edges. However it was still green. Near the end of the day Robert said the sod was too wet to roll and that he would be back in a couple of days to complete the rolling and dress out the edges with additional sand. He had another 'poor-me' story of not receiving promised payment for 2 jobs, and once again, I paid him the balance. A heavy rain subsequently occurred and the driveway drainage was not improved at all. I have not seen him since then. He did send text that he had been by to roll the sod and we weren't home and that he did see the drainage problem and would be back to correct. But as I sent back to him, I could not see any indications of the rolling and there were still low/high spots and no final sand dressing in front lawn. He has not returned as of this date. As a side note: one of Dirt Cheap trucks damaged a basketball goal that belongs to two neighbors and Robert said he would repair the base, and told one of the owners the same thing. In fact he left my location saying he was going to get the parts and return to repair. He did not. The same day I received his text regarding the final rolling of my sod, he picked the entire ball goal up and took it away. The last word I had from neighbor was that they had heard nothing from him. I cannot recommend him, and above all should you contract with him, I would pay absolutely nothing until job is completed as promised.

My experience with this company was awful. We met with the owner Keith and explained what we wanted, what kind of landscape design we wanted and what types of plants we liked and what we did not want. He promised everything and then fought with us when we asked for him to do what was promised. He took half of the total cost of the job upfront, and then kept coming back for a "loan" against the balance - that was pretty much the only time we saw him was when he wanted money. We would go weeks without seeing him or his crew and then when I would call him, he would argue with me that his crew was out there (most of the time, they came out to run the sprinkler. When they first did the bobcat work, they left it bare and then we had terrible rains, so all the mud washed onto my neighbors yard and driveway. After many calls for them to come and clean it up, I wound up having to pressure wash their driveway myself. At one point, his crew came and dumped trash and yard debris from another job he was working on in front of my house. When I called him to get it out, he argued with me again and it took them 4 days to come and get it. The stairs that he was supposed to install were a nightmare, he had his landscapers try to build them after the original guy quit on him, we ended up hiring someone else to fix the stairs (they were not even safe to have there), we also needed to hire someone else to fix the sprinklers, because not only were they not covering the whole area but there was a leak (probably from when they installed the sod) and the water was just running down our driveway, resulting in $600 water bills. At the end of the time his crew was here, (probably lasted 5 or 6 months with all the no shows and delays), we had a yard full of ornamental grass (specifically told him, we did not want any grasses), the wrong trees, a broken irrigation system, unsafe steps and 40% of the plants dying....I could go on and on but basically, stay away from this company, they are horrible!!!

FAtlanta Dreamscapes L.L.C.
Not a pleasant experience. First Bryan Barfield and his team of two (representing Atlanta Dreamscapes) are very nice people and Bryan is a smooth talker but does not follow through on commitments and only shows up to the job site when it is time to get paid or money is needed. Bryan needs up front money to get supplies instead of billing afterwards. After weeks of saying the job will be completed by the end of the week (over 5 weeks---we actually took a vacation and he promised when we returned it would all be complete. All we had was a dirt yard when we returned) the sod he said was ordered was finally delivered but Bryan and his team of two did not properly prepare the lawn for the sod and dumped the old lawn (front and back) in the unused part of my back yard claiming it was biodegradable and good for my yard instead of removing it as I requested. Bryan and his team of two took shortcuts before laying the new sod. They did not kill off the old grass (Bermuda) before laying the new sod (Zoysia) claiming it was not necessary and the grass killer would kill the new sod. Now I have Bermuda growing in with my Zoysia. The ground was not leveled and the new sod was not rolled as Bryan claimed all this was not necessary and other contractors only do it to get more money. Bryan and his team of two also did not have the proper tools to complete the job and I had to rent a saw, stump grinder and roller (I rolled the new sod myself). When questioned the response was always the equipment was in the shop for repair. Bryan also claims to guarantee the quality of his work but now large portions of the sod have died off and after contacting Bryan he says he will have to come by and look at the grass. After two weeks of no shows I have not heard back from Bryan Barfiield of Atlanta Dreamscapes although the company address is located a few miles from my home. Nice people, poor quality work, unprofessional, and do not honor their contract. Wish I saw comments before hiring.

From emailing with Natalie and then meeting Navid the experience was great. My project involved laying sod and mulch on a very short notice. Navid and his crew made it happen! I have so much more to do to complete all what Navid has planned and look forward to working with all of them again!

They provided an estimate for laying sod on my front lawn. I think their estimate was reasonable, but was more than I wanted to spend at the time. $2400 for 2000 square feed of fescue sod (6 rolls). They were friendly, professional, punctual, and very efficient

Great work done. Phil's company is a small private company and I enjoyed being able to speak to boss and get the results and service that puts the customer first. Phil was very professional and was able to work with my timeframe and budget. Afterwards, he called me the following week to follow-up. I will definitely call him for future work and recommend his company for anyone with landscaping projects.

Mike arrived on time for the initial meeting and provided a quote immediately. Once we decided to move forward with project, his team arrived on time and completed all work in a timely manner. They did a great job with all pieces of project and were very conscience of clean-up and waste. Would highly recommend and will definitely use him agian.

Recent Review: Teo and his father were very professional throughout the whole process. Project was started when they told me it was going to be and finished earlier. The quality of the work is fantastic and I would not hesitate to hire them again.
Recent Review: We had an excellent experience working with Chris at Atlanta Sod & Turf. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing quality landscape work at a competitive price. We got three quotes from different companies and Chris made the choice easy. We recently had an in-ground pool installed in our back yard and needed the entire yard put back together. They installed new irrigation zones and tied an existing zone back into my control panel. We had several new drainage lines trenched and buried. We had zoysia sod installed throughout the entire back yard. And, we had the entire property pine strawed as well. Chris' crew was on time, worked hard and was very courteous. CJ did an excellent job troubleshooting our irrigation system after it was destroyed by the pool installers, and the sod installation went very smooth. The yard looks amazing! All in all, it was a very pleasant experience hiring this company. Chris is top notch, 5 stars all the way. We would definitely hire them again and will recommend them to anyone needing sod, irrigation and drainage work.

Recent Review: My house backyard had a severe water drainage issue. My yard is at a lower elevation than my neighbors. So even a little rain would create a water issue in the backyard. There was a area in my yard which had developed into a mini swamp. I got many estimates from different vendors. I liked Mike's approach the best as it was based on fixing the root cause of the issue. The work turned out to be more involved than expected. Mike stood by his words and completed the work without charging me extra. After the work was completed, I could not recognize my backyard. A true professional. I highly recommend him and would definitely hire him next time!!
Recent Review: Dan and crew put in two retaining walls for me, replacing the rotted timbers that were installed in Woodcreek in 1989. His crew arrived on time, did the job quickly and left the place looking great. Refreshing to have a contractor do what they said they would do on time, on budget and leaving the place immaculate. We're already looking forward to our next project and having sod installed. Dan will get our business again!
