Reviews in Atlanta to Screen Porch

AScreenmobile of North Atlanta
We had a very well done, high-quality, existing screened porch that needed re-screening (the screens were 20 years old). We also needed the porch screen door replaced.  Our house painter suggested calling a company that specialized in this to do the job. I found Screenmobile, and based on their reviews, made an appointment for them to look at the job. We are completely thrilled with the job. That first appointment with Nick showed me he knew his product, and made it easy to hire them. When Chris did the installation he was on-time and did an excellent job. Our special-order door, installed by Scott and Chris, is absolutely beautiful. Our final pleasant note was a follow-up visit in January. Since the new door was installed on an old frame, there was an adjustment that needed to be made. Nick and Chris came back and addressed the problem with a smile, a professional fix, and no charge. Hands-down recommend this company!

My screened porch had original screens (approx 20 yrs) that were loose, faded and generally looked bad.   I called Russ at Nelson Alum Products for an estimate to replace the screens and frames.  Over the phone he was able to ball-park the cost for me (based on linear footage), which was an efficient time-saver for both of us.   Afterwards, Russ came out to do a detailed measurement for the new screens. After my screened porch was re-sealed/stained, I called Russ to tell him I was ready for the new screens.  He had them ready AND installed within two days of my call!  I was very happy with Russ and Nelson Alum Prod.  This process could not have been easier, and I now have new, high-quality screens on my screened porch.

Many companies want you to bring the screens to them, Screenmobile comes to you, which was important to us given the number of screens to replace.  The company responded quickly to my call, gave me a good quote with a choice of screening available, and called when they were delayed.  They did a good job and I would use them again.

ADC ENCLOSURES INC
They were hampered by rain, so I gave them an A for Responsiveness and Punctuality, but something to keep in mind, that rain will cause delays. Quality is a B (versus A) for only 2 reasons:  (1) They cut a lot of aluminum in the yard, and left sharp shavings in the grass.  They tried to pick it up by hand when I expressed a concern, but they should really cut on a tarp or something.  (2) My deck is not level...I did not realize that.  The porch they built is level.  The railing is level, but the deck is not, so it looks a little off.  Might want to check that during the sales cycle, and let the homeowner know, so they can address it prior to installation. The actual quality seems real good. Price is a B, just cause I would have preferred to pay less, but they are better pricing than most! Overall, we are very happy with the results!  Would recommend them to others!

ABEAR MOUNTAIN CUSTOM PAINTING
Working with Bear Mountain was a pleasurable experience from start to finish. Both the back office staff and the painting crew were professional, responsive, and worked with us as we tweaked what we were looking for. The crew, led by William, came on time daily, cleaned up daily, and did an excellent job with the painting and carpentry. Bear Mountain will be my go-to in Atlanta.

AACME HOME IMPROVEMENT
I hired Acme to do several home improvement projects. It went extremely well. The work was completed in a day and every project was done to my satisfaction, expecially the replacement of my porch screens. There were 8 very large screens and all work was done onsite individually for each sreen. The carpentry and screens were replaced with quality materials and the workmanship was excellent. I know I will hire Acme again for future home improvement projects.

AGEM SCREENS
Screens were manufactured very quickly and materials were to our specifications and high quality.  We also ordered a matching screen door through them.  Arrived a little past the delivery date, but, overall, we had a good experience, would recommend this company and would use them again.  We installed everything ourselves.

Bill was able to complete the work two days after giving me the estimate. I was very pleased with the work, especially the new porch steps, and how quickly the job was finished.

Recent Review: We looked at a few companies to do a much needed tear down and re-build of our deck. Along with that, we decided to have our three-season porch's 2 screened walls and door demoed and rebuilt. Atlanta Decking (AD here on out) wasn't the cheapest, but they had a solid reputation, good reviews, and offered a bit more selection to the builds (composite options, design options, etc). The initial job went well, though there was a lot of back-and-forth regarding when the crew was going to start the job. Delays just seemed to pile up, especially surprising since weather was pretty cooperative. But, the crew finally did come out in early December and worked late each evening in order to complete the job in about 5 days. They worked hard and were quick to ask for clarifications on some of the finer points. That was definitely welcomed. Also, the finished product was well past our expectations, so we were pleased. One issue though was that they weren't exactly neat on the job. During tear down, the pile of wood from our old deck sat in our front yard for a couple of days, even after the demo was finished. And during the build, the table saw was set up on our lawn, and the inch deep layer of sawdust (from the PT wood) basically suffocated the newly seeded lawn, which did not rebound. It would have been better had they put a tarp down or at least used a vacuum to clean up the mess. Outside of that though, we were very pleased with the job. Due to the deck being built during the winter, we obviously didn't use it much for the season. However, in February, we noticed a couple of issues. We told AD of the following: some large, vertical cracks affecting the 4x4 posts used on the deck and porch; some of the copper rod pickets decided on had popped out of their slots; there were some very rough areas on the 2x4s used to support the handrails that needed to be sanded prior to the deck getting painted; a composite toe board had bowed a bit and needed to be drilled down; and the door on the porch, due to the wet winter, had warped a bit, causing the latch to, well, not latch. When it did latch, it was catching just the very corner of the plastic handle, which was fraying and, basically, breaking off. Those were the issues we went to AD with in early February. We had to follow up with them a week or so later when we hadn't heard back from them, and at that point they said they would come out and correct the issues. They did send someone out a few days later, but he came out to assess the issues, not fix them. He did tell us that the cracks in the 4x4s were unavoidable 'checking' (industry term) that didn't pose any structural issues. For the remaining items, he took notes and photos of the problems, and told us that someone would be out either later that week or next week to fix the issues. However, no one ever came. We followed up a couple of times during the month of March, and didn't hear back at all. Fast forward to April, and we were finally told someone would come out and fix the problems. Dave showed up unannounced within a few days to make the corrections while I was on my way out the door. When I got back, he was gone. The problem was that he only fixed the copper pickets and the other issues remained. We contacted them, again, and they told us they would come back out. This time, Dave let us know when he was coming and I met him and told him what the issues were. He worked for a couple hours and fixed all of the issues to our satisfaction. We are quite happy with the work that was done and have been enjoying our new deck and porch. The main issue with AD was communication. I understand these types of companies have a very small office staff, and the administrative items are the ones that suffer. But to leave us in the dark for weeks on end and not clear visits with us first turned out to be our largest issue in dealing with them. We would have been fine had we just received an email saying, "We are swamped here, and appreciate your patience. We'll keep you posted, but will try to have someone out on X-date." To have 2 months go between us contacting them about relatively small issues to getting those issues corrected was just disappointing. That said, we are planning on having our fence re-done soon, and AD will definitely be on the list for that job due to the quality of work on the deck, though we will get other quotes as well.

Recent Review: In the past, they built a wood shed. The service was good probably above average. They are willing to listen and make changes, and very prompt. Like all companies there are always discrepancies, I would have them back.

Recent Review: Primarily, I needed to have some window frames repaired. The representative of Atlanta Custom Construction came out on Saturday to see what I needed done. He took measurements and told me what he could and could not do within the 6-1/2 hours I had purchased. He also said he would try to find the aprons for the windows, which may not be available because of the age of the house. He left stating he would order replacement screens, and would call me when they were ready. The screens were ready for pick-up on Wednesday and he called to let me know he would be at my house at 8:00 am on Thursday. He was right on time and went to Home Depot to buy the wood for the windows. He did a superb job on the windows. I had originally intending to replace the screens for the windows in the garage but then I decided to put the screens, which covered the whole windows, in place of the screens for two of our bedrooms, which only had one-half screens. He happily installed the hooks for the screens and changed them. I think he actually spent more than 6-1/2 hours but did not charge me for any additional time.
