Reviews in Atlanta for Installing Attic Fans

AIrish Electric Inc
From my first phone call to Irish Electric, everything went perfectly.  I had questions before I scheduled the installation, and John answered them accurately and succinctly and in a way that I could understand.  The installer showed up right on time on July 9, went up into our attic, installed both fans with thermostats, and cleaned up all the small bits of insulation that fell from the attic onto our second floor carpet.  He took time to explain fully exactly how they would work and what we can expect.  So far, we believe the new fans are helping lower the temperature in our attic which is, in turn, allowing our AC to run less and save us money.  I'm anxious to see our next couple of electric bills to confirm that we are indeed saving money.  We are very impressed with Irish Electric and will use them again in the future when the need arises.

It was really a pleasure to see a man who knows what he is doing.  Ken had my 30 year old attic fan replaced with a brand new modern one in 30 minutes.  Neat, pleasant, AND HE IS THE OWNER ? WHAT A PLEASURE. The old attic fan used to shake the whole upstairs.  The new one is hardly audible.  I actually have had to get out the ladder and go up in the attic to make sure it was working. And oh how it was working, I could feel a strong breeze when I opened the trap door.  Ken actually made a bigger hole for the new fan so it removes more air per minute. I have a remote controlled thermostat in the attic and I watch the temperature drop in a matter of minutes as the fan kicked in.  So far the attic is at least 15 degrees cooler than with the old fan. Another thing, the old fan didn?t have a fire cut off switch.  If there was a fire it would go on and feed the fire oxygen.  The new one detects a fire and shuts off or won?t come on when it senses fire.  A Great safety feature. If I sound like a Ken groupie I am.  He just finished solving and hot spot over my garage with a unique through the wall exhaust fan system.

Josh arrived on time and first removed the old fan from ceiling. Then he installed a new fan w/ lights that has a remote control with it. Then he tried the remote and it didn't work. So Josh removed the fan and checked out the remote(installing new batteries)  other than it was equipped with. He also checked out the power supply for the the fan. He found this bad. So after he removed this new fan, I went to the store and exchanged it for one with just pull chains. I rescheduled Electramedics again and they arrive on time and installed the replacement fan, and then cleaned up. Next he replaced the dimmer on the wall with a regular switch. He explained that the dimmer switch actually wears out the fan and lights quicker.

He showed up on time and installed the attic with thermostat as expected.  He left the house clean and in good condition.  I was pleased with the work so I asked for an estimate on some other electrical jobs I needed performed.  I was not provided with a written estimate which disappointed me.  That is reason I would not use them again, but the work he did perform was done well and I've had no issues.

Business Description: Hello! I am a professional Licensed Master Electrician located in Sandy Springs and serving Fulton, Gwinnett, Dekalb, Cobb and Forsyth (lower part) counties. I am highly experienced, very well-equipped, clean cut, and obsessive about cleaning up after myself. I perform ALL my own work - no subcontractors or employees ever! When you call you will talk to me AND I will be the one who comes out to do the work. How many companies do you know of that offer that kind of personal service? I have been in business here in metro Atlanta for 16 years and have MANY satisfied customers to provide as references. Angie's List is new for me, but I have reviews on Kudzu. Here's what I can do for you: Installing light fixtures (recessed, under-cabinet, security, sconces, pendants, chandeliers, closet, etc...) Installing fans (ceiling, bathroom - including venting, replacing attic vent motors). Tall ceilings not a problem - I have several sizes of large ladders, even one that can be set up on a stairwell. (additional ladder charge may apply) Installing outlets (interior, exterior, in-floor), switches, dimmers Installing circuits for appliances, equipment, heaters, exercise machines, HVAC, hot tubs, etc... Upgrading breaker boxes and services Wall-mounted TV wiring and installation, HDMI, TV and phone jacks, speaker wiring, receiver connections, wiring for DSL, U-verse, satellite, cable, HDTV VHF UHF antenna installations, infrared repeaters, doorbell chimes, CAT5E data jacks and punchdowns Troubleshooting problems, repairing code violations, home inspection issues, repairing light fixtures, just about any type of electric or electrical project you can think of... And much much more! Here are some other things that set me apart: Electrical Engineering degree from RIT Tool Junkie - I possess some very specialized tools that most electricians do not: circuit tracers- I can trace wires behind walls and underground. specialty drill bits and fishing rods- allow fishing of wires without having to cut holes in walls and ceilings. special platform ladders for tall ceilings, stairwell ladder, ladder booties to protect siding finish. oscilloscope - allows me to "see" electrical signals and waves to troubleshoot power quality or noise problems. fixture chain pliers and tools - allows assembling and installing light fixtures without scratching/marring them. conduit benders/threaders/offset formers - for professional EMT and rigid conduit installations misc: flourescent tester, arc-fault and GFI testers, PVC bender, CAT5 cable tester Former altar boy Obsessive/compulsive about performing quality work Non-smoking Pet friendly People friendly and good sense of humor

Recent Review: Jeff from The Fan Man came out.  Arrived on time.  Installed two attic vents and found my electrical box was burned out or broken in the attic and he repaired or replaced it at no additional cost.  Cleaned up after himself and had no problems after he left.

Recent Review: I called late last week to schedule an appointment to have my attic fan repaired or replaced.  Howard was very nice on the phone and scheduled the appointment for Monday morning.  Warren got to my house for my appointment and he was very polite, told me what he was going to check the fan and if the fan had to be replaced how much it would cost.  The fan needed to be replaced.  He had the fan with him, told me how long it would take and did the job within the time frame.  It was raining today and very messy outside, Warren was very careful to not get anything on the carpet and cleaned up the job area to a tee.  Doing business with The Electrician was a very good experience!!!!!!
