    Sela did a thorough, accurate repair and/or replacement of the downspouts, aluminum window wrapping, and turtle vents as a result of a hailstorm in the fall of 2018. As promised, they performed the work as soon as the weather warmed up sufficiently this spring. The crews were courteous, and they answered any questions I had. Furthermore, the people I dealt with last fall (Sela representative who came out to our home) and this spring (billing representative) were altogether courteous and knowledgeable. I was particularly pleased that, once the work was completed, Sela sent the necessary paperwork to my insurance company (verifying that the work had been completed). I would not hesitate to work with Sela again, and I would certainly recommend Sela to others who need work done on their home (particularly storm damage repair, which was our experience).

    When we moved into our new home, we didn't even know where to begin with our interior design projects. Jae took the time to meet with us, learn about our preferences, and prioritize each step in the process. With her help, we selected luxury vinyl plank flooring which coordinated beautifully with our existing woodwork. She provided us with the paint colors as well as recommendations for bedding and window treatments to complete our rooms. For our living areas, she helped us to pick out light fixtures which not only fit our style, but were also in our price range. Jae went above and beyond by custom painting furniture for our children's' rooms. Her attention to every detail including furniture placement, accessories, and colors was apparent once the rooms came together. Visitors are impressed that our home has undergone under Jae's guidance. We are looking forward to working with Jae in the future when we decide to update our kitchen and bathrooms. We appreciated her creativity, easy going personality, and attention to detail.

    The Drapery Place was the subcontractor Home Depot hired to full my Hunter Douglas window coverings order placed in December 2017. The original installers were friendly, but sloppy: they accidentally drilled several holes in my new patio door frame for an inside mount when the product was made for an outside mount (damage is still not repaired). Of the 21 items purchased, 4 had to be sent back for repair/replacement (not due to Draperly Place error), I had to call back a month later to check in the status of the repairs. Round two of the install: whoever prepped the order in Bloomington sent the installers out with 3 of the 4 items, but included a product from another customers order. In the meantime, one of the shades originally installed turned out to be malfunctioning so in addition to still being down 1 shade, I had to send back another item. Once again, I had to call to follow up on the status of my order in April. I was told the items were ready but that the installers only worked Tuesdays and Thursdays - despite the inconvenience, I agreed to be home a couple of weeks later (the earliest of the restricted days I could manage). I was assured I would be the first stop of the day between 7-8am. By 8am, I no one had arrived so I left for work and called the Drapery Place (which mysteriously is never answered by a person - only a series of voicemail messages) and requested that since I had to leave, could the installers just leave the products on my porch so I could put them up myself and be done with this. My call was returned about 6 hours later with a vague message about how they could stop in later that day, or the following morning ���whatever was easiest for me.��� By this point, I���ve had it. I returned their phone call and had to leave another message asking for the 2nd time if they could just drop off the items. No one has called me back - that was over a week ago. For the money spent and their access to resources, I expect more from Home Depot! From a customer service standpoint, this has to be one of the most painful experiences I���ve ever had. Waiting 6 months for a few window treatments is unacceptable!

    Empire Today��
    I have used Empire Today in the past, so I was expecting a similar, good experience. I was WRONG. The sales guy came out to my house (on time) - and took some basic measurements, and gave me a quote. I told him I was interested in working with a company that can accommodate a later evening or weekend appointments option. "no problem, the installer can do weekend appointments". Great! After getting my other quotes, I decided to go with Empire. Phoned back and the sales guy said he had to come back to my house....uhgg - another appointment. Fine - he came back and we got all the paperwork order set up - again I said, I will need the weekend appointment option, "no problem" he said. Then he said, you will be contacted soon to set up the appointment, then it takes a 3/4 days to make, then they schedule another appointment to install. Ok, great I said, so I could have these by the end of March? "Yes" he said. Days later when I had not been contacted by the installer, I reached out to Empire - they said someone should be ringing me soon, another day later, I got in touch with the local installer, and asked for a weekend appointment. HA! They don't do weekends.... Sorry what? I realize it is not the installers fault - my sales person lied to me. (I emailed Empire customer service at this point with this issue and how I was really mislead by my sales person, only to get a canned email about how they will get back to me - which they didn't) I was really upset - how was I going to get my blinds? The installers were nice enough to schedule a later evening appointment, which 2 of them showed up for on time, and were very nice. He did all the measuring, and made an order adjustment I was trying to make unsuccessfully with Empire directly. He said it should be 7-ish business days (again, not his fault my sales person told me a TOTAL LIE about 3/4 days) - so I wait. Almost 3 weeks later, I ring the installer to get an update...and got the run around about them not being in yet. She said she would ring me the next day with a follow up - Nope...she didn't. I had to ring back (irritated at this point about the entire process so far with trying to get some blinds) - she said she didn't know when they would be in, and needed to talk to her installer and ring me back. I followed up again with Empire (email again because I don't have the time to spend 30min on the phone trying to get someone to talk to) - to complain about this process, and how I still don't have my blinds. I get a call this morning from a guy at Empire telling me the installers are no longer affiliated with Empire, and they don't know when my blinds will be in or be able to be installed, and they will either give me my money back or a $200 credit to wait. I said wait how long? He said there was no way he could say....really? He was a very irritating guy without any actual answers, information nor did he actually care about my experience. I got my money back (or so I am told...hasn't happened yet). Please be very aware and careful before using Empire Today for anything. I was lied to and dismissed, for expecting honest service and good product for my money. I have wasted a lot of time I didn't have - please consider my experience and let it save you your time.

    The Two Blind Men
    We hired The Two Blind Men for window treatment/blinds on the main floor of our house as well as in two of our rooms They were very punctual and patient while we made the selection. There was no upfront cost associated with them coming out for product selection. They have great inventory to select from and provide higher quality window treatment solutions at great prices, which made it a great value for us. Installation is included in the cost. Overall we got professional high quality service and product and we would highly recommend them.

    Abbott Paint & Carpet
    I am sad to say it did not go well even though we are happy with the end results, finally. We have used Abbott regularly for paint supplies and for carpet. In those instances we have been very satisfied and would highly recommend their service and products. Unfortunately buying the roller shades was not a smooth experience. The measurements were written down incorrectly so one shade was one inch too wide for the window. That needed a re-order. The brackets for the shades we were shown in the store display were very different from what we got. Then we learned that those we were shown were a newer premium style and not available in the shade style we ordered. If so, why were we not told that when ordering? We then needed to order new brackets in a different color since the ones we got were bright white which looked awful against the dark old woodwork. We were expecting a tan color but only part of the bracket was tan while most was white. Instead we ordered black which doesn't look too bad since it is more hidden in the shadow of the window casement. But it was another annoying delay in finishing this little project. Finally, once we got everything in place, we like the product very much. It looks great in our old house and works well. If anyone is going to shop at Abbott for window treatments, I would recommend being very particular and double check every aspect of the order to make sure you know what you are getting is what you want. I am amazed that this simple project with nine windows would take weeks longer than expected with multiple corrections needed to finally get it done. So it pays to be extra diligent, I guess.

    It was excellent. It was an hour for coming and finding what I needed, and then about an hour for installation, so it happened at two different times and would be about two hours. I think what was really impressive to me is that the representative, Stephanie, who came out, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, but she listened and gave me options, and was very patient in explaining those options to me. That, I truly appreciated.
