Small Appliance Repair reviews in Saint Paul

  • Ben was fabulous. He was on-time, professional, he did great work and his pricing was fair. He hung a television on the wall (where there were no studs). He replaced a garbage disposal, replaced windows, fixed a broken door, cleaned dryer vents and did some wiring repairs for the house. Everything was done perfectly. I would definitely hire this company again. Ben was great to work with. Super nice and honest too!

  • I paid 99.99 to have him tell me that it would cost more to repair than to replace. I would have thought that if he had talked to me on the phone about what was going on it would have saved a service call. All he did was plug it in and immediately unplug saying it was the magnitron.

  • Technician incorrectly diagnosed the problem and as a result, did not fix the problem. He left without checking the repair. The microwave still did not work, and AGAIN, caught fire. The manager called me a liar when I told him what happened.

  • Bill called immediately and promised that he would take care of it on that day. He kept his word. He scheduled me among his other appointments. He had the part in his truck. Things were chilling early afternoon. I called several vendors. One told me there would be a week delay in getting an appointment. Another called later in the afternoon, after Bill had already taken care of it. Great customer service. Very knowledgeable.

  • Lavert did some diagnostics and determined it was the control board of my range.  Since the part has since been discontinued, he wasn't able to fix it. But did give me some ideas of how to repair it, rather than replacing my entire stove.     He even consulted a co-worker as he was leaving and came back to do another type of diagnostic test, just to be sure he found the correct problem.

  • John and his partner did excellent work and were very respectful of our home and our need to get our dishwasher repaired quickly.  In replacing the door seal they saved us a major water damage headache in the near future. So thankful.

  • I called to schedule the repair and Amy answered. I told her my garbage disposal had stopped working. An appointment was scheduled for the next day. She gave a clear explanation of pricing. Without giving her any details of what was happening, she stated that she would be sure that the technician had a replacement in the truck as it would likely have to be replaced.  I asked her how she knew that as I hadn't told her any details of what was wrong and she stated it was just to be safe.  Hmmm.  She told me they used Waste King brand "the Cadillac of disposals" but that I could go to Home Depot/Lowe's to purchase a new one if I wanted and save some money.  She suggested I get a 1/2 hp model.  I looked online and Waste King disposals were a special order so couldn't get one by the following day. But the reviews online were terrific so I thought I would pay the extra money to get a good, quiet model. The Insinkerator brand were available but they had fairly poor reviews online and were rated as very loud so I didn't go get one of those.
Mike arrived on time and was very courteous.  My disposal did, in fact, have to be replaced.  I left him to do his work and when I came back to the kitchen about 20 minutes later, I noticed that an Insinkerator Badger disposal box was sitting there.  I asked him about the Waste King and he said they don't use those anymore. He said they use Insinkerators. I let him know what Amy said and how I was frustrated as I could have saved quite a bit of money by purchasing my own. I also stated that the Badger model wouldn't have been one I would have used as it got bad reviews for noise. He agreed they were pretty noisy. He asked me if I wanted to go get one but his time would still be charged so what's the point of that?  I felt as though I was lied to and a "bait and switch" happened. I didn't want the Badger based on reviews online but at this point, what could I do?  To Mike's credit, when I let him know I felt dissatisfied and would like to discuss a discount, he stated he had already planned on calling Amy to discuss it.  He came back in and said I could get 10% off parts and labor.  Apparently, the paperwork at the office still listed "Waste King" on it and that is why Amy said what she said.
While overall, I consider this a decent experience and Mike's customer service was exceptional, this whole experience still leaves a poor taste in my mouth.  The price of the disposal was double what I could have purchased it for at Home Depot and I could have actually gotten a model that wasn't so amazingly loud. My floor now vibrates when you turn the unit on!

  • Recently moved to current home so wished to get appliances checked out as to efficiency. Fridge seemed to run a lot. Provider responded via Angie's List with a rather long list of warnings and caveats instead of what they would actually do in the service. It didn't seem very personal. I responded with my contact information and comments. They responded again through Angie's List, scheduling a time. It would have been better to get a call directly. Decided Fridge didn't need service at this time, so have cancelled and am requesting a refund.

Updated 11/11/14.   I found out AAA Anderson had called my wife, so there was a call to schedule  after I'd given my phone contact through Angies response. I've altered the grade to an 'A', since it was my decision that the service was not needed.  However, the first response through Angies was a bit too formal IMO.

  • He did fine. He got the problem fixed up . He cleaned everything up and did a good job. It was $99 for everything. There was a problem with the ignition and told me what it was and it was quick fix.

  • They know what they are doing and are really good people. Their service is excellent and they are very timely. They are very responsive and it has worked very well for us. They have real expertise in their installations. We cannot say enough good about them. This company came highly recommended. They were competitive on pricing. It was a little higher but, it was quality merchandise. They were highly rated in consumer magazine.
