    Brown's Guitar Factory

It was phenomenon. He has a very reasonable price compared to other  places that we contacted. He was really punctual according to the time frame that we set up. He does the most meticulous. This guy is phenomenon. It is hard to explain on the phone, just go there and you'll found out. He was just amazing when working with our guitar. The guy is so meticulous. When we brought our guitar in, he looked at it about an hour, and explained the all precisions. He is easy to talk to. Overall experience, I will give him an A all across the board.

    Valley Band Instrument Repair
The refurbished trumpet that I bought from Ralph has worked flawlessly for my son for the past two years. I don't know exactly what its condition was when he took it in, but he put about $150 worth of work into it, fixing dents and making sure that the valves moved freely.
I would highly recommend looking at what he has for sale for any beginning musician rather than going through a rental agreement with Schmitt Music or some other local music store. Yes, you are buying rather than renting, but if your kid doesn't take to the instrument, you can just turn around and sell it on Craigslist. And you will be out a lot less money than going down the rental route.

    Ken Hannah Inc
I had three companies provide estimates for restoration of my Steinway S piano.  Ken Hannah did the best job examining every detail of my piano and explaining what needed to be done.  The other two companies were much more cursory in their examination and explanation of what they would do.  One would not even have replaced the pin black, which was unfortunate since the pin block in it was thinner than original and was fitted with oversize pins that were too tight for proper tuning.  For comparable work, Ken Hannah's estimate was about the same as the company that would not have replaced the pin block and was much lower than for a major, well known music company.
I was absolutely delighted with the job that Ken did restoring my 1936 Steinway S piano.  He invited me to visit his shop, which I did.  He went through and explained the entire restoration to me in his shop.  I was very impressed with his wide range of knowledge about many different types of pianos.  He is an absolute master craftsman who knows what he is doing and is diligent about doing every part of a restoration with excellence.  He completed the restoration within the time frame that he told me at the beginning and then generously stored the piano for me until I had completed refinishing my hardwood floors.
Ken Hannah provides the very best quality piano restoration service and at a very reasonable price.  I can't say enough good about him.

    QUINN VIOLINS
I have rented my son's violin from Chris Quinn and purchased over $30,000 of instruments for my school through Cris as well. He is just fantastic. Takes a personal approach to every sale or repair. He backs his work and sales 100% and is a totally honest person. As a professional string person myself I have watched Quinn Violins grow. He has consistently added fine instruments and bows and has quite the range of string instruments to try. He is on my list of shops to visit when considering buying a violin. His rental program is the best in the TC area.

    JIM CHENOWETH PIANO TECHNICIAN
Great -- he explained everything that he was doing and made the necessary repairs right away. He explained how we could prevent future problems and made some good recommendations as well. He then tuned the piano at my request and played a few songs!

    HAAS MUSICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIR INC
I am a band director who has used Haas Instrument Repair for the last 12 years. I have always been very satisfied with the quality of their work. They have been professional, courteous and timely. They do not do "extra" work to make more money. I have recommended them to many students.

    JOHN MCKONE
We scheduled about 2 months in advance because it required John to remove the action from our piano and take it to his workplace. We chose a time when he expected to be able to turn it around in a week. He provided an estimate, pre-ordered all the parts, picked up the action one Friday and returned it to us the following Friday. Though he forewarned us that as the wood adjusted to its new environment that we might have sticking keys and other issues, we've had no significant problems. John's quote includes any service the new action and dampers might need for the first year. He preventatively schedules an appointment each week for the first couple weeks to address emerging issues as the action adjusts to the new environment. For the dampers, he scheduled twice in one week as the dampers were hanging up a little on the older strings of our piano. His service is unparalleled. His standards are very high, which is just what you want them to be for a piano. He is always prompt for his appointments, often arriving a few minutes early. He's polite, pleasant, and I'm very comfortable with him in my home. I can't imagine entrusting such a large repair on this piano to anyone else. He came highly recommended from a piano teacher friend.

    QUINN VIOLINS
We rent a violin from them for our child. They also repaired my old violin. Their prices are fair, and their expertise and workmanship are superlative. I recommend them for anyone with a child who wants to play a string instrument. The instrument rental program is great b/c we can trade up to bigger instruments as our child grows.

    KATHARINE LOWRY
Katie is the person in the Cities to go to for repairing flutes, especially higher end flutes. She really tries to make sure you are satisfied, and will work with you until you are. She also gives excellent advice on buying or upgrading to a new instrument. She also is very good at researching and finding accessories that you can't buy in stores.

    Southdale Instrument Repair
OTHER MUSICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIR PLACES WOULDN'T EVEN CONSIDER TAKING THIS ON. THEY SEE THESE LOW-PRICED EBAY INSTRUMENTS AS "BELOW THEM." BUT KUDOS TO SCHMITT! NOT ONLY DID THEY AGREE TO DO IT, BUT AT A RELATIVELY LOW PRICE AND WITH A VERY FRIENDLY ATTITUDE. THIS WAS ALL MUCH APPRECIATED. I RECOMMEND WORKING DIRECTLY WITH THE BROOKLYN PARK FACILITY.
