    Homestead Remodeling & Consulting LLC
I called homestead a couple of weeks ago for a quote. Made an appointment with an estimator named Rick. Based on a previous reviews I should've cancelled it or at least have someone else come out to do it. He cancelled the appointment an hour before he was supposed to come over. We reschedule for the next day, Friday. During the appointment I tell him what I want, that I wanted to do a 3 or 4 season over my existing deck and if it went over our budget that I'd like a roof over it instead. He proceeds to tell me about TEMO and I told him to just give me the quotes on what I requested. He was going to work on the quotes over the weekend and we agreed that he'd email the quotes back to me by Tuesday. Tuesday comes and still no email so I emailed him in the evening asking if they were done. He rudely replies saying he didn't say Tuesday but instead Wednesday. Wednesday comes and still nothing. I email back on Thursday and he says would like to come over on the weekend for me to look over the quote even though I asked him to email it. We scheduled the appointment for Saturday and he comes with a quote for only a TEMO system. He didn't give me any quotes for anything that I asked for. When I asked him if he at least had a quote for a roof he stated that I never asked him for such a thing. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He tells me he'll give me the quote for a Pergola first thing Sunday morning and here we are, no email for a quote. To top it all off he looked so annoyed when he was giving me the quotes and when I was asking him questions. Poor communication doesn't even begin to describe the experience I've had dealing with him. Homestead you just lost out on a customer and have earned a negative review in the process. You have Rick to thank for that.

    Twin Cities Siding Professionals
From the initial contact to the final nail or brush-stoke, we received excellent service and high-quality workmanship. All the crew members were respectful and pleasant so it was easy to have them working around our home. The work was completed on time with frequent updates on the progress. We never felt that our questions were a bother and experienced clear and complete answers. At the time, we trusted them to be honest with the estimates and materials and, now years later, we continue to be proud of our home and know they gave us the best materials, advice and workmanship.

    The Handyman Can!!! Inc
He took forever to finish the work, far longer than he promised me. It took about 3 months to get it done, he go away and disappear and then came again. He had done a horrible job, he had glued work instead of nailing it. The door didn't fit, there are gaps at the top and bottom of the door that lets insects in. He hadn't put a handle to the door, he hadn't painted the outside wood of the gazebo. The worst thing is I had to threaten him to no payment until he gets the work done. I was very disappointed in his work on the gazebo, because it was such a contrast to the work that he had done for me. For small projects, I think he is very good at that but for the larger projects, I would not recommend him.

    Northland Landscape & Construction Inc
Began working on quote summer 2018 and had several revisions. At time the owner (Robert Kreft) seemed professional and qualified. Gave deposit in August 2018 and agreed to a price reduction to have work done in the fall of 2018 instead of by end of summer. Fall became winter, winter became spring with no deck and no communication. Kreft kept making excuses about weather and crew problems and wouldn't even tell us our project place in the queue. After asking 3 times he finally told us in July 2019 that he couldn't do our deck and didn't have resources and was returning our deposit. If he would have at least told us this by spring we could have found another contractor to get the job done by summer. Now we are starting all over 1 year later. Unbelievably, the company is still advertising in our local White Bear Lake paper for business and saying 'call now for summer specials'. This is just salt in the wound. IF ... you decide to do business with him I advise you to agree to a project date and make him agree to a penalty clause price reduction if he fails to meet the deadline.

    Hoffman Weber Construction
I am so glad I found Hoffman Weber for my project. I researched and shopped a long time for a company that would care for the character of my 130 year old home. I got just that. Keyth our sales contact heard my needs and designed a product that perfectly addressed everything I asked for and more. Tim the project manger took care of everything during the work and stayed in contact with me every step of the way. Mike and the siding install team were extraordinary. I think they took joy in seeing and protecting the history revealed under the siding as much as I did. I plan to hire Hoffman Weber again for future projects.

Unprofessionalism at a level I couldnt have imagined. We were promised that our projects (new deck, floors & cabinets) would be finished by 10/31/18 and as of today 6 months later, were still sitting with unfinished projects, trash and debris all over our front and back yards, and work that may not even be up to code. Weve had dozens of timelines and revised timelines that theyve completely blown past and we have no idea if theyll ever finish what they started. Weve had to pour countless hours of our own time and thousands of our own funds to try to remedy what theyve done and it will likely be more once this is all said and done. I wish I could go back in time and warn myself, but instead Ill warn you.

    Craftsman Renovations LLC
It went very well. The work was done by the Mike called Dex. The work was done throughout December of '18 ending about January 5th, '19. Mike appears to be an excellent craftsman. We haven't been able to use our deck because it has about three feet of snow on it. Mike worked long days, all materials were stacked neatly at the end of the day and all trash put in the dumpster. The other Mike, who visited us and gave us the quote, offered good suggestions on materials to use and their differences, My wife and I are very happy with job done and would certainly use Craftsman Renovations again.

    Outdoor Solutions Inc
We are so happy with our new deck and porch! We contacted Jim at Outdoor Solutions to tell him what we wanted and he came right out to our house to discuss. Since we didnt have a lot of specific ideas for the project, we really appreciated his suggestions and recommendations to help us decide. After we decided to proceed, he squeezed us into his busy schedule last summer. His crew was fantastic and a really nice group of guys. We were so impressed that they worked a full day nearly every day, and they seemed to work really well together. We did NOT have that all too common experience of hiring companies who send people out who work short days and you constantly wonder which days they will show up. This group was totally reliable and hard-working. We ended up with a new Azek deck (including Westbury aluminum railing and decorator lights) plus a beautiful new screened porch! One of the very best things about the screened porch is how Jim designed huge expanses of screen rather than smaller segments I've seen on other porches. In one of the pictures I attached, the view is from the inside looking out towards our neighbor's house. The screen almost disappears so you feel much closer to the outside but without the bugs. Since it was finished in late summer of 2018, we havent been able to enjoy it that much yet, but next summer should be fantastic! I want to call out one particular thing about Jim the owner. Over the years we have used Angie's List to find solo operators or owner operators, because past experience with hiring a big heavily advertised company has not gone well. In our initial research for someone to replace our deck, I filtered out anything that looked like a big company that might have heavy turnover in their people. When Jim came to our house the first time, just to do an estimate, we immediately clicked. It was evident that he would be involved in every step of the process, even though he has moved on from pounding nails himself. He also convinced me that he had a solid crew that had worked together for a long time and had become a good team. In the end, it all turned out to be true. Jim was in constant touch or over here in person, and at no time did I have to second guess my choice. His crew chief Tim was also amazing. (And a shout out to another member of his crew, also named Tim, who separately laid down a new concrete pad for us, and corrected a long time problem with poor drainage.) When you are spending this kind of money you really need to trust the people you're giving it to. I can't recommend Jim and Outdoor Solutions Inc highly enough.

Joe and his crew were very neat and tidy, I had a 12 x 12 composite deck built although it took longer than they said it would be the finish product is beautiful. When they left my property you could not tell they were there it was so clean. A great big thank you to Joe and his crew .

    SBCI Construction
Steve at SBCI was great to work with on our basement remodel! He was very responsive to questions, the project was completed on time and he worked with quality subcontractors. He partners with companies that allowed us to stay within the budget allowance for tile/carpet and bathroom fixtures. The basement was cleaned up every night after work finished for the day. Steve also started and finished the project before other contractors were able to begin. We are so thrilled with the basement and quality of his work. I would absolutely use him again!
