Bridal Shop reviews in Saint Paul

  • My daughter was very fearful of shopping for a wedding dress due to the unrealistic "try on" sizes in regular dress shops.  Other bridal shops could take a lesson from the first class service!  They were very respectful of her 'budget' and gave her personalized service...much like 'Say Yes to the Dress'!

  • Aubree was the bridal coordinator who helped my daughter select her wedding gown. She was extremely helpful and professional from the moment we walked into the store until we purchased the dress. My daughter did not come in with pictures from a magazine -rather Aubree worked with her to get an idea of her tastes as well as what she wasn't looking for in a dress - in the end she happily celebrated with us as we selected the dress for this very special occasion. And we did this all in one day! My daughter and I agreed that we thoroughly enjoyed the selection process, much due to Aubree and her professionalism.

  • Was planning to use floral services. Had an estimate. Tried to set up appt 2-3 weeks before wedding as they suggested. Left work early to make it to appt. The person I needed with was home sick and she was left "information" which was a photo copy of what I already had. No apology for not calling. Didn't hear from them until week before then they kept calling to set up appt, but only appts available were on 1 particular day. Decided to go elsewhere. Called them afterward to explain our frustrations with them and again, no apology.

  • Ended up being the most stressful and frustrating experience. Called because of my concerns about dress not being able to be altered to provide adequate bust line coverage. Was told that I "took" the dress out of the store so it was mine now. Explained that I took the dress because their staff told me that the issue could be fixed by alterations, however they do not do alterations on site so you are stuck......take the dress and try to alter as expected or not take the dress and have nothing. Then, tried to bring my dress in for "free" steaming. They told me I needed an appt, couldn't just drop off. But, I couldn't make an appt because they were with "customers" and would call me back, but they did not. Called the following day and didn't apologize. Bottom line is once they have your money, you are no longer a concern of theirs and they do not try to help make a happy bride or follow through on what they state they will deliver. Would never ever again make a purchase from a site that doesn't do on site alterations, as once you sign for the dress, you will have no recourse.

  • My experience buying a wedding dress was great. I stopped in to see if I needed to make an appointment to look at dresses and was encouraged to take a look around. It was a nice relaxed experience from a sales perspective. No high pressure tactics I had experienced at another bridal salon. I ended up finding a dress that was on sale because of a trunk show that fit quite well. I did have the dress shortened a bit which is sort of expensive. The alterations person was a little pushy. I was encouraged to purchase a $100 backless bra which would have required more alterations to the dress when having cups inserted in the dress was adequate for my build. I understand that lots of brides are particular, but I thought I was being encouraged to spend money senselessly. The sales experience left a bigger impression on me than the alterations experience leaving me with an overall great experience.

  • We took our daughter downtown specifically to find a bridal hat for her wedding. We walked into the store and the two young women that were working finished their conversation before helping us. When we asked if they carried bridal hats the girl said no as if it was a joke. We thanked her for her help and as we left we could hear the two making fun of the fact that our daughter wanted a hat.

  • My daughter attends a large suburban high school and didn't want to get her prom dress from the Mall of America or other shopping malls. After searching several bridal stores, we were discouraged as selections were either very picked over or the dresses offered were in poor condition. We shopped the Wedding Shoppe on Grand Avenue on a very busy April Saturday. The entire staff was hopping but all remained cheerful, kind and helpful as they juggled the many brides, bridesmaid and prom-goers. Our saleswoman, Sue, was helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable. They indicated that we were there at the "end of the prom season", yet they still had the best selection we'd seen. We lucked out that they were having a sale. My daughter got a stunning, unique and well-made dress for 40% off. We recommend to all and will be back again.

  • I purchased my dress at the Wedding Shoppe after visiting other shops and familiarizing myself with the marketplace. I knew that they offered 10% off if you buy it the day you first come in, so I wanted to be ready to buy if I found the right dress. I made a reservation and came during a weeknight (because there are no appointments on Sat and it gets crazy). The sales staff was friendly and I had no trouble finding many dresses in my budget (under $500). I felt no pressure while trying on or purchasing, but after buying the dress I felt pressured to alter on-site (to the extent they wouldn't alter it if I took it off-site first). Also, even though I had appts. for alterations, I was always made to wait up to 1/2 hour. During my second fitting, they bustled my dress without even asking what kind of bustle I wanted;all without approval from me to do so. I felt their dress prices were fair and selection good, but my post-sale experience was disappointing.

  • I had a great experience working with Carol. I was looking for a couture wedding gown that would be very unique. She was great at helping me sort through the numerous dresses they have. The atmosphere in the store is not great. It definitely does not feel like Bridal Accents, Amy Jane's, or Marshall Field's. However, they give you a 20% discount on your dress if you do the alterations elsewhere, so that made the trip down well worth it.

  • Kelsey helped me try on a number of dresses. She was patient and fun. She didn't pressure me and was okay when I wanted to try on bridesmaid dresses too. I ordered my dress. When I went to pick it up, the experience wasn't as pleasant. The woman who brought in my dress was curt, and seemed to be pressuring me to get in and get out quickly. She didn't help me see what the dress would look like with alterations or give me any time. Then as I was leaving, she decided she wanted to tell me about her daughter's Hawaiian wedding and then told me what ''you have to do'' for my wedding. It was very irritating.
