" and his crew were very professional and prompt. They did exactly what we discussed, were very polite and professional and did a great job" of leaving the work area neater than when they started.

-david E.

" showed up on time, assessed the situation and got right to work. He also provided me with before and after images of the work. I would" definitely recommend him for additional jobs and will most likely hire him again if we remodel.

asbestos siding a house

The name asbestos refers to a group of minerals composed of actinolite, amosite, anthophyllite, chrysotile, crocidolite and tremolite. Asbestos is useful for its strengthening, insulating and heat-resistant qualities. It was used in construction from the 1940s to the late 1970s, when its health risks became widely known.

Asbestos Removal reviews in Saint Paul

Crew arrived on time. They spent most of the morning sealing off the area to be worked on and setting up ventilation. In the afternoon they removed the tile and mastic. When they were finished the area was clean and all debris removed. The fan did a good job of pulling the odor out of the house. There was a lingering odor for about a week but that's ...More to be expected. The workers were courteous and asked if the could play a radio and made sure it wasn't too loud.

The bid process was and answered all my questions. The work day started a little rocky. I received a telephone call when the workers were supposed to arrive, and the person asked if I was at a different address and if I was expecting remediation that day. I corrected the address and said I had expected ...More them to be there already; I had to leave a key because of the mixup/delay. My partner stopped by during the day and was impressed with the process. The basement looked GREAT (with the exception of a coffee mug stain on an egress window).
I had planned to use a credit card because I saw the visa/mastercard logo listed on their Angie's list profile, but the salesperson "encouraged" me to pay with a check and generously offered to give me two additional weeks to pay. I completely understand that credit card fees are an issue; however, if the company doesn't want people to use them, they shouldn't list them as an option or adjust pricing to reflect cash vs. credit card payments.

I requested a quote from for Asbestos removal, and he showed up as promised last week on Wed. He seemed very friendly and I explained our situation to him explaining that we'd like to upgrade our whole system before the winter because we are currently wasting $8000 a season. He promised me to get a quote to me the next day. ...More
When he did not do that, I called in just to learn that he is on vacation for a while. This will likely delay our project so much that we can't do it this season anymore. The person at jsut said she couldn't do anything. No apologies, so offer to help or to fix it or to get on the phone - just "there is nothing I can do". Overall, I am very disappointed by him and his company.

The work went well. The basement was left clean. I had to chase for the air sample report which worried me slightly, but when I caught up with him he apologised and emailed me the report which looked to be in order.

As the only responsive contractor of the three I contacted, I was a little worried. I set up a time for the contractor to meet me at my house. We met - he was very flexible and willing to meet any time of the day including a weekend. That was nice. up an estimate and shot it over to me via email. We didn't hire them ...More right away and waited about one year. After one year we signed them to do the work. I am an engineer, my wife's an attorney, so we had some detailed concerns about liability and quality of work to clear up before they started the work. They had to get special permission to get that language included but ultimately accepted it and they started work. The workers were generally very polite and easy to have around for two days. The only real negatives for me were the fact that they whacked my hammer arrestor at the water meter when doing removal, causing a small leak that lasted a few weeks. Also, they left a bit too much of the mastic adhesive on the floor which I have speculated to be because they were in a hurry to leave for the week and be done with the project when time ran out. Also, be advised that my wife hated the smell of the citrus sovlent they used on the floor tile adhesive. It didn't smell like a chemical, but it was an incredibly strong smell that didn't leave the house for about a week. Overall I was just glad to be done it and yes I would hire them again. I recommend getting a very clear understanding as to how much stuff must be moved for them as they were actually able to work with more stuff in the basement than I anticipated.

There are always a few challenges that come with major remodeling. The time you need a great general contractor is when these occur, and you quickly find out what they are made of. is made of thoughtful people who value their clients and who persevere until the work meets their high standards. As they promised at the beginning, ...More they did not “cut corners” and when a few things, none of which were caused by WC, went wrong, they went WAY out of their way to “make it right”, even if it took more time. They took full responsibility for all the work of the subs. When the project was finished, the quality of the work and the materials was outstanding. If I could give them an A+ for quality, I would. We now have a beautiful and highly functional new space that blends perfectly with the rest of the house. Everyone at WC was highly professional, caring, and worked with us in a fair and respectful manner, which left us with a pleasant feeling about the entire remodeling process. We will definitely use their services again.

The situation: This work was done in a second floor bedroom on a Macalester/Groveland bungalow built in 1934. The room had a very small closet built out from the corner of the room where the ceiling starts to slope towards the knee wall. Next to the closet was a radiator adjacent to cheap built in bookshelves along the back wall. Behind the closet was ...More a large knee wall space. Complicating the situation were fiberboard ceiling tiles and an asbestos tile floor. The plan: To figure out how to create a large two person walk-in closet with limited space, a slanted ceiling, an in-the-way radiator, and many unforeseen circumstances: a difficult situation to say the least. previously did another major job for us several years ago. His creative approach, innovative ideas, quality construction, and reasonable rates lead us to decide on using him for this project. The bid: is very thorough and professional in collaborating on ideas and developing comprehensive and accurate estimates which is what he did for this project. He was also able to time the demolition and much of the construction with our vacation which was great. The work: The actual work done is detailed elsewhere in this report. A mid-stream design change suggested by was accepted once the elements of this old house were revealed. That design change involved a different closed layout and a alternate solution to the door. This greatly improved the outcome and it represents a particular point of appreciation we have for : he has great ideas and will suggest them, though he always defers to the customers wishes. The final result: We are extremely pleased with the work in every respect. Cost over-runs were minor and pertained to completely unknown things, like the vent stack location and rotting ceiling insulation. In retrospect, except for the unknowns stuck to his bid and we feel we got a good deal. We?re satisfied customers.

They arrived the same day to assess the situation and I had estimate by the end of the day. Called the following day and approved the estimate and the work was done before noon! Encapsulated asbestos
