  • Air conditioning failed in July, and it was very hot, so we needed it back quickly. They sent someone out quickly (same day), and it was a serious enough problem on an old system that we opted for a new AC, and since we had been considering a new furnace "one of these days", decided to replace it all. While this was more than we really wanted to spend at that time, it needed to be done, and made sense to do it all then. The nice thing was, we called them early one day, they came later that day, and had the furnace and AC both replaced and back in business by the end of the second day! The installation was done very professionally, and they did not leave any mess. Both AC and furnace have been working well, and they even coordinated with our local electric company for us to get a $300 rebate we were not even expecting. A pleasure to do business with!

  • I requested a quote via Angie's List and someone contacted me within a couple of hours. This being my first time with a furnace issue, I indicated that I wanted an estimate for repair or replacement. The representative told me that since they were in my area, they could come over the same day and repair it. I asked again for an estimate and they indicated that they would need to look at it first and stressed again that they could do it same day since they were working in the area. I agreed to have them look at it, which they did. The recommendation was to replace due to the age of the furnace. As they were leaving, they said they would provide an estimate and that, by the way, this visit is an $89 service fee. Not only did no one mention a service fee for visiting, it has been a week and I still don't have an estimate. Other companies provide estimates for free. This was a waste of my time and money.

  • Our furnace was going on and it looked like the thermocouple wasn't working. This has been an intermittent issue with our furnace. In the spring, we had called another company, they came out, and found nothing. I called the on a Friday evening around 6:30 pm, wasn't sure if this is who we used last time, and then called back again to make an appointment for Saturday. As I talked with, the furnace kicked in and everything seemed fine again. Earlier, I had changed the filter and cleaned the burners, but it didn't have an effect then, so I was surprised to see it was now working. In any case, Kay was exceptionally nice and professional about all of this. Even though we didn't end up needing them to come out, I would definitely call them again the next time we need something for our HVAC.

  • Troy was the most prompt and courteous businessman. He was happy to explain how our system worked and why it was not and our options as far as repairs or replacement. He allowed us to make a sound choice with a high rated quality Lennox product and insured our warranties were in place for our future needs. He followed up with service calls/texts to be sure things worked out well for us and we were continually pleased with our unit and it’s performance. We look forward to a long lasting relationship with him in helping to maintain the quality of our home. Troy was the top service repair person we have had since moving to the ATL area.

  • We hired Smarthome to insulate our attic. They were not the lowest bid, but their expertise, particularly about the various insulation options, convinced us to go with them. And I am so very glad that we did. Not only did they do everything we expected in terms of insulating our attic, they noticed that the duct work in our air conditioning system had not been properly sealed. We had been wrestling with the unit's inability to cool our house for years, and our regular HVAC provider told us that this was the best the system could do. In fairness, we have an old house and a complex air conditioning set up. Smarthouse both diagnosed the problem and undertook the necessary fixes for a very reasonable price. As a result our house is markedly cooler and our electrical bill has come down a bit. This is a great company. They know what they're doing and they genuinely seem to care.

  • All went very well. We had 2 other contractors look at the project. The price was competitive, Martin-Jetco was professional and knowledgable, and the size system that Martin-Jetco recommended seems to be just right. Installation was rapid, worksite was clean and the system works perfectly. This is always a somewhat expensive system no matter who does it, but this room is truly an all-season room.

  • We called Hoffmann Brothers on Saturday, August 25 because our 16 year old air conditioner was leaking water all over the basement floor and not cooling the house. The technician was scheduled for Monday morning. He arrived at approximately 9 am, and started work. He diagnosed the problem as low refrigerant and a bad condenser fan motor. We agreed to pay approximately $1,340 to refill the refrigerant, add easy seal, and replace the fan motor and capacitor, plus labor. He completed the work in approximately two hours and assured us that the air conditioner would run for a few more years despite its old age. The air conditioner stopped cooling two days later. We called Hoffmann Brothers back to recheck their work. A technician arrived Thursday morning, August 30. He used a puron/r-410a refrigerant leak detector to check the exterior and interior coils for leaks. He found several leaks on the interior coil. (Note: the receipt from the first technician states that he only did a visual check for leaks). Their estimated cost to replace the interior coil was $1,950. Given the age of the system and the total repair cost vs. replacement cost, we declined the repair and asked for an estimate for a new system. Hoffman Brothers gave us a bid for replacing our furnace and AC system and offered discounts for the faulty diagnostics and repair work; however, even with the discounts included, their total cost was $2,000 more than their competitor's bid. We are extremely disappointed with the service and pricing we received and think we should have a refund for the faulty diagnostics. We think the puron/r-410a detector should have been used by the first technician. This would have shown the full scope of the repairs needed, which totaled $3,290 and warranted full replacement on Monday. Instead, we paid $1,340 for the air conditioner to run for two days and then had to pay for a full replacement. Had the leak been properly detected, we would not have wasted a substantial amount of money replacing a condenser fan motor on a system actually in need to full replacement nor would we have paid to refill the refrigerant into a leaking coil.

  • The air conditioning blowing stop producing cool air. I realized something was wrong when I heard a noise come from the furnace room. I contacted Faruq late evening on 9/27. He expeditiously responded the next morning with a time he would be able to come by to assess the issue. He kept his word. He came to our home to assess the issue and quickly knew what had gone wrong. It was the blower motor! Faruq was able to make the repair the same day. (Praise God as it had reach 82 degrees in our home.) We are grateful for Faruq's knowledge and customer care. He educates his clients regarding the issue the reason for the repair. Faruq is also very pleasant to speak with.

  • Very nice people, but this had been a challenge since literally the day it was installed when it leaked right after they left. I am sure they are capable of installing a very straight forward install, but if there is a problem, and needs more attention, the owner David will hope the problems goes away versus digging in and standing behind the product I paid for him to install and stand behind. I had 12 interactions with the company, and it still did not work properly. I have copies of my communication including when I asked him to have a company representative come out, and that took 8 months. When the Representative did come out, and he was coming inside to address my questions on what I could do to improve the performance, the owner of Countywide said he did not need to come in. That told me he did not care, and meant it, when he had said on the phone earlier that week, after less then one year of installation, I should call someone else to take care of the system. I did have another company come out, and they fixed the noise that David said would always be there, and they reported questionable issues with several aspects of the install. Since then I have had repair to update and correct at a very large expense. I have now had two Mini Split systems installed and this was the first one in June 2016 with the second this year. It was night and day on the 2nd install. The first one looks sloppy outside, and even the Rep who was out did not deny that. His comment was it would be expensive to change. I saved a long time for this purchase. It was a very expensive lesson. I do not suggest them for Mini Split install or any care.

  • Great job! This was my second Mini Split system and the difference between a mediocre install 2 years ago on the second floor with a different company and the Scott-Lee group was night and day. You get what you pay for, and in this group you get a level of knowledge, professionalism and quality of work that was consistent throughout the installation of the new system. This was a new product from Mitsubishi and quite intricate between two outside units and 4 flush mount units inside. The end result is amazing, and it was through their hard work and thoughtful planning that made it work out beautifully. The same consistent quality of work is true for those who have serviced the issues on the older system put in 2 years ago by another company. I cannot say enough about the entire experience from Shaun in sales to the install with Luke, Tommy and Ben. You want a job well done with integrity and professionalism this is your company.
