  • They had a plumber (Super Rooter in St. Louis) come out and he said the leak was caused because I needed to recaulk the bathtub and regrout it. I did that. I also had a very leaky faucet and he said he would not fix that because it's too old. I had to replace it completely. He then gave me an outrageous estimate of $900 dollars to regrout/caulk the tub/shower area (just the bottom half) and he said he'd charge me another $900 to replace the faucet. OMG!!!! I hired a handy man and he did it for $235.00. I still had leaks coming from the pipes below the bathroom even though I had not used the bathtub or shower at all! I called choice and they said that a plumber was coming out next week. I waited 11-3PM and at 2:35pm plumber was still not here. NOBODY CALLED OR EMAILED ME. I called the plumber and he said "Choice Cancelled that" I said why? He said they said it was for the same thing he had come out for before. I told him NO IT IS NOT. It is not comming from the shower/bath as I did the work and we have not used it for over two weeks. So I called choice and I got a very nasty Manager named Greg who was the "Resolution Manager" He was very rude and could not give me an excuse as to why I was not told of the cancellation. I told them that I replaced the grout, caulking and faucet and hadn't used the tub/shower in two weeks and it was still leaking! He said I needed to send him PROOF that I had the work done. So I gathered all my receipts and emailed them to info@choicehomewarrenty.com (which is the email he gave me) and now ALL EMAILS ARE BOUNCING BACK. This is the worst company on the planet! They are just giving me the run around! And they lie on their advertisement, they are not open 7/24. Never pay them any money to do anything. I am going to report them to every consumer agency out there. Horrible, don't waste your money or time!

  • Budget Plumbing Phil showed up. Extremely heavy, could hardly get to pipes. Sat in my kitchen, told me what was wrong, and that it wasn't covered by AHS. I told him to go ahead and fix but he said he didn't want to do it, said he would waive copay but I got a bill from AHS and they said I HAD to pay it. I paid so my credit rating would not be hurt.

  • When the statement came, they charged $1350 and excluded the roof and sump repair. After dozens of phone call, they corrected their "error". They were so rude and they wore us out. We're seniors. But, we decided that they were not trust worthy and asked to cancel for A FULL REFUND. A dozen more calls and they offered 60% refund which we declined. Making a claim is another experience. Waited all day for the repairman, who came at 5:30 (appointment was 9:30 am) and just looked at the job and then tried to collect $45 deductible and he did nothing. Beware, these "TECHS" are not union plumbers, electricians etc. They are handy man type. Jack of all trades. Stay away from these guys.

  • It's the third time that they've come out to fix my AC and it still runs 24/7 and barely gets my house cool.  They suck. It is a $100 deductible for any type of thing that they do, then it is a little over $60 a month for the actual warranty. I don't really have a choice but if I had a choice, I'd probably not use them.

  • I won't take you thru all the  details--we would be here for a full day.  Let me sum it up.  The AC went out and AHS was called 10/23/16.  It is now 6 plus months later and we still do not have air conditioning.  The company is working on call # 10.  We have been thru 4 technicians and made too many calls to AHS regular call in number, escalations, and president's office.  We have filed with the BBB and Attorney General's Office.  We called Channel 2 News today to file a complaint.  I have been told along the way that we closed the claim---not true, the Vendor closed the claim---they say they didn't ---AHS closed the claim---they say they did not.  Bottom line is that after 3 initial calls and the replacement of 2 Breakers and a fan blower the claim got closed from December until roughly February without my knowledge and without fixing the problem.  They reopened it in March after I filed with the BBB and 7 calls later---they have replaced the compressor, then condenser, and now realize they need coils and tubing for a r410 system instead of the old r22 system.  In the mean time they have charged me for 8 lbs 
    of Freon for the compressor that did not work at $45 per pound or $360 plus the $75 call charge.  A warranty is not good if you spend your life chasing them to resolve a problem that should not have been that hard to diagnose.....not 6 plus months and 10 calls worth.  Seems this business is bilking AHS for all it can and not  providing customer service.  After paying $700 for an annual warranty and $75 per initial service call....I expect much better service than what has transpired here.  AHS needs to vet their vendors better.  This is the 2nd time we have been caught up with AHS and their vendors.  The plumber was shown on Channel 2 News as not being bonded or having a license(Froggys LLC).

  • As part of a home purchase, 2-10 was supposed to have the furnace replaced in my new home. The company they chose, USA Services in Missouri, lied about contacting the new home owner (me) and saying that I approved a later install date and then performed so horribly and did damage to my home that another company had to come in to fix the furnace and a cleaning company had to come in and clean the mess USA left. I was not happy with the initial delays in getting the inspection and approval of the furnace replacement. And then the very unsatisfactory service of USA. The sales representative initially balked at having a company come to my home and clean because they had problems getting anyone to "accept out of state credit cards". The sales rep. did come out the next day and inspect the damage and a company did come and clean and another came a week later to fix the horrid job USA Services did. Due to the delay in furnace install I had to stay in an extended stay hotel and 2-10 ended up paying for part of the hotel. The customer service representative, Rachel, who I worked with after the incident was pleasant and tried to keep me updated on what was happening but Sierra Mechanical, also a Missouri company, had typically already contacted me with an update. The run around in the initial evaluation of furnace, water heater and air conditioner and the delays that caused along with the week delay in fixing the problems are what prompt me to give 2-10 an average C.

  • They are basically telling me stuff is not covered when it should be. The price is not that bad. It is not going to really matter because they just got bought out by another company so in about 6 months they won't exist.

  • They started my furnace problem and I won't use them anymore. They don't screen their people and won't replace my furnace. The gas company has red flagged my furnace three times and they sent the same guy out twice from American Home Shield. They are taking their guy's word over the gas company. There was a lot of gas smell coming from that furnace. That's why I ended up going through Angie's List for a new furnace. I am going through a different company now.

  • Had them for 10 years and FINALLY got around to dumping them.  Several times they seemed to make up reasons why things that should have been covered were not.  We were left without heat in the winter last year because they kept sending inept HVAC technicians to diagnose furnace problem that was causing CO emissions outside of the house.  Trying to cancel was ridiculous - they say cancel anytime, but actually send out incorrect phone number to do so, and then when I finally got correct number, only open 6 hours/day and not on weekend.  Awful.

  • This was my first service call, and I'm very pleased so far.  The online scheduling with Choice Home Warranty worked well.  The technician called me on Monday morning and was out to make the repair by Monday afternoon.  It's all fixed and working well.  I have zero complaints about this experience.
