    AARP Medicare Plans
Their customer service is great for me. I like the way it works because the biggest thing I was up to was I didn't want to be sure that I had money in pocket when I have to run somewhere to the doctor.

    ESSENCE HEALTHCARE
I've been with them for several years. They are very good and I haven't had any problems. If my primary doctor thinks I need to see a specialist, I get the referral and see the specialist. I haven't had any problem with the billing. My only complaint was that I might have to wait two days for the insurance to get a prescription filled when I needed it. They have covered what I needed to get covered. I haven't had much opportunity to call them. They call me every now and then. I have been able to get everything I need to know off of their website. I rarely get any bills from them.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield
While we have had an individual plan with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for approximately the past three years, we just received a letter stating they were discontinuing our plan, transitioning us to another plan, and raising our premium 134%.  Because the Affordable Care Act exchanges and details do not come out until Oct. 1, 2013.
Newspaper reports are indicating that Anthem did not reach agreement with the largest network of our hospital providers: BJC for plans on the exchange. For this reason alone we will not renew with Anthem.
On the whole they covered our needs quite well.  While their representatives at the call center were kind, they did not always have information about what locations would be covered for eligible benefits such as shingles vaccinations, flu shots etc. I spent hours of time trying to find covered places to administer services.
In the past year, if services were paid at 100%, they did not send EOBs. (explanation of benefits- with the costs associated with them).  I would like to have received EOBs for these services.
I have had difficulty in the past year with one bill that was not covered by Anthem for lab tests in conjunction with a routine physical.  The problem apparently was not with Anthem, but with how the Dr's office had coded the tests.

    AARP Medicare Plans
I have been happy with this supplemental plan which I have used since July of 2011.  It is a PPO, and has no copays and no deductibles. I can go to any doctor that accepts Medicare, and I do not pay anything above my monthly premium. As a very healthy senior, however , I do not often require medical attention (currently) and am considering changing this year to a different health care provider, an HMO offered through UHC/AARP which accepts just my Medicare payment and has no additional monthy premium. At this time I am undecided , mainly because a person cannot predict their future health. If I were to become very ill, this plan is definitely the better option.

    AARP Medicare Plans
This plan covers everything Medicare does not.    I just go to the doctor and all the costs are covered.   I've not had any problem with the plan paying the doctor.    It's a good plan that I recommend.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield
When I changed jobs I switched my family to insurance through my husband's work policy.  They weren't very clear when he submitted the request to get us added.  I finally called to confirm our coverage.  Since I didn't have new insurance cards, I called the customer service number from my prior Anthem plan.  I had to go through 4 or 5 different customer service numbers before I finally reached someone who could help me.  Once I reached that person, she was courteous and helpful.  I asked her to mail me a couple of insurance cards, which was a good thing since our basic enrollment never trigger the insurance company to send us any of them.
As far as coverage goes, I guess that is up to the employer who sets up the plan.  However, I was disappointed to discover that this new plan doesn't seem to follow the new healthcare rules and still charges co-pays for preventive care and some prescriptions which should be free.

    UNITED HEALTHCARE
I have never had anything but good experiences with United HealthCare. I manage my account on-line and receive timely emails regarding benefits. It's slick and always seamless for me. I have the option to switch, but can't imagine a better plan.

    United Health Care
United Health Care has been my medical insurance provider for many years. My employer allows me to choose from several providers, but I am satisfied with the coverage and price I pay with UHC. As with most insurance companies, phone calls about coverage and billing are not much fun. It can take a while to speak to a person, usually not the right person, and you have to repeat your personal information and your question multiple times. But they are no worse than any other insurance company in that regard. Certainly the good outweighs the bad, and I expect to keep my coverage with this company as long as I have the option.

    United Health Care
My employer & I are paying $330 ever 4 weeks for this insurance plan.  Since I've been with United Health Care (2013 only), I haven't had any issues.  It was very easy to make the transition from my previous health insurance provider, and was chosen as the preferred health insurance provider for my company.
My most recent appointment was a routine medical vist that was for preventative health, and was fully covered by the insurance plan.  No issues at the doctors office.  No issues with billing.
several years ago when I had United Health Care, i had to have an emergency survery.  Very expensive, but the health insurance company was not difficult to deal with at all.  They covered the great majority of my treatment, and even fought the hospital to reduce the charges and correct errors (generated by the hospital) on my bill.  They worked behind the scenes with my doctor's office to resolve several of the (hospital generated) billing problems.
Was suprised by the level of their service, and am glad to be back with Uniter Health Care.
