Patrick May Hardwood Floors/May hardwood floors LL
Our house had tile in the front, wood floors put in in the 1980's (?maybe) in the front of the house and wood flooring also put in about 2000 (back of the house). The wood flooring color had aged differently and some areas needed to be redone. In addition, tile in the front hall was taken out and wood floor put in and all three areas were stained and sealed to match. The front entry was laid perpendicular to the two rooms off of the entry, but it was set off by a border and a walnut strip, so it looks wonderful. Tim and Pat were meticulous in their clean up and were careful to cover everything. They were easy to have in the house and worked with me to make certain I was able to do what I needed to do, while also completing the job. Tim gave me clear instructions on how to maintain the floor and how to also protect it from damage. In addition to the flooring, they also replaced the painted baseboard. This was Tim's suggestion and it was a great idea. The new floor looks much "richer" then the old floor and the almost 60 year old baseboard (narrow and dinged up) would not have looked good.

    Grout Works LLC
Went very well. Matt was polite and professional. Gave estimate one day and scheduled for following week. He showed up on time and the floor turned out looking like new. Company uses a special grout sealer with pigment; customer chooses color from swatches. We found out we were cleaning our floor incorrectly, so hope the new look will last when we clean according to instructions.

Sparkle Residential & Commercial Cleaning Company
TL;DR -- an average or less job throughout. I appreciated their punctuality and the discount they offered, but I needed a comprehensive, thorough job more, and would have paid accordingly. I hired Sparkle to come clean on Dec 27, 2017. Initial bid was for a deep or move-out cleaning of a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home. In addition to basic cleaning, mopping, and vacuuming, total was to include cleaning supplies, fridge cleaning, oven cleaning, carpet cleaning, and interior window cleaning. The house has no furniture (nothing to work around), and no one has lived there in half a year. Contractors have been through, were just trying to get the house ready for sale, and we dont have time to clean, so we hired Sparkle. After they left the first time, my real estate agent walked through and noted that there were issues that needed to be addressed: specifically, visible dirt in the kitchen (cabinets, stove, etc.), bathroom baseboards, and carpets still stained and needing vacuuming. I contacted Sparkle, sent pics, and they came out again on 29 December. I got a revised invoice from them afterward that significantly discounted the carpet cleaning, because they were unable to remove the stains from the carpet. I appreciated that, but there were still several basic issues that were not addressed. When I walked through on the evening of the 29th, there were still visible cobwebs on the walls and fixtures, visible debris on the stovetop, a tea bag wrapper in the kitchen sink drain, debris in kitchen cabinets, dirt on the baseboards in the downstairs bathroom, and dirt on the doorframes. The floors looked like they had been vacuumed, but in a perfunctory way: the middles of the rooms showed vacuum tracks, but there was still visible, vacuum-able debris in every room near where the carpet and the walls meet. What summed up the job for me was the refrigerator. The top of it had literally been cleaned as far back as someone could reach while standing in front of it. No more than that, despite the fact that it desperately needed it, and a stepladder was left on the premises. Nothing more was done than that which could be done easily which is exactly what I didnt need. I contacted Sparkle again, noting my dismay, and they stated that they hoped the additional carpet cleaning discount would mitigate my displeasure. They said that they didnt want to scrub baseboards any more for fear of damaging the paint, but offered no explanation or remedy for the myriad other issues like the dirty fridge/stove/doorframes, the failure to vacuum thoroughly, or the cobwebs. We may have a different idea of what deep cleaning means, or Sparkle may have underbid the job. In either case, I wish they had contacted me. We could have renegotiated price, or gone our separate ways. As it stands, Im out money for a job Im not happy with, and time I did not have to remedy what they didnt do. And with the exception of the carpets, which will have to be cleaned by carpet cleaning professionals its all doable. Ive already started remedying the issues with nothing more than a Magic Eraser, paper towels, a vacuum, and some Pledge. The fact remains, though, that this should not have been necessary. I paid the invoice, because I dont have the time (again, why I hired someone to begin with: no time) to fight about what wasnt done. Im just going to remedy the issues myself, because I dont have the time or the inclination to keep calling people back out to do a job they should have done correctly, or renegotiated, in the first place.

Condition of hardwood made it unnecessary to have them cleaned. Had to cancel purchase. Bob was very understanding and extremely cordial. Once I get the floors in better shape, I will definitely purchase his services.

    Clean Green Carpet Cleaning LLC
Rhett was kind and professional. Very thorough and took time to answer all questions. I added on a service for tile/grout cleaning after he arrived. Everything cleaned to my expectations. Even helped move some furniture to improve cleaning needed beneath. Above and beyond. Only slight peeve were some black marks left along wall following tile cleaning process, but they cleaned off easily with Magic Eraser, so no big deal.

Nick and Susan are amazing! They are completely professional, honest, hard working, have impeccable attention to detail and are extremely punctual and thorough. We received three bids on the work and they beat every bid with their pricing and they were able to come out sooner than any of the other flooring companies. Nick also worked tirelessly to pull up the kitchen tiles and replace them with beautiful hardwood. Nick showed me samples and we talked about colors. He applied a few different stains on the floor so I could see what the stain would look like. I decided on the color "true black" which was the darkest stain and I absolutely love them. Nick and Susan were wonderful to work with and very responsive. If you need your hardwood floors redone do not hesitate to contact them. You will not be disappointed. I give them an A+ in all categories! Excellent work!

    Amant's Floor Care
It went very well. Kevin Amant was able to meet me the day I called and I had a bid within a couple of days. The workers arrived on time, did a great job and left the work areas cleaned when they left.

    Cleaning By Karen LLC
She has documented an efficient routine to clean my house which the crew sticks with - have seen the documentation - they bring it each week. I have some things that have to be cleaned using special products - which they are always careful to use. They work very hard the entire time they are here and are always cheerful and pleasant to be around. I always try to treat Karen and crew in the same way that I expect to be treated by my employer...so I pay them the day that they do the work and I give them 2 weeks notice if I want to schedule something that I feel will impact their schedule so that they can plan accordingly. I recommend Karen to only my dearest friends because I know that they would treat her with the respect she and her team deserves!

    Kwik Dry Carpet Cleaning
The appointment went ok. Unfortunately, I don't believe that I got what I thought I was getting or was promised. The substance that was used to coat the floors was a white, creamy-looking substance and did not appear to be polyurethane. I thought polyurethane was clear. The floors didn't look too much different from before the service was performed. They were just shinier. I could have done as good of a job, or better, myself. The services performed were not worth $180. I wish rating could have been better because the gentleman with whom I scheduled the appointment with was very pleasant.

    Amant's Floor Care
We came home to a bright, shinny floor - which were sure would be rectified. Mr. Amant, without looking at the floor, told us it was due to reapplication of product (he never warned us about this possibility when he quoted the price and agreed to do the job). He conceded that the floor was shinny and we agreed the work was well done but not low sheen which is what we requested. We expressed our disappointment but paid our bill with in 24 hrs. We proceeded to get 3 other opinions all of whom agreed that this was not a low sheen finish and provided estimates to fix the problem. We specifically did not give them the name of the company that had completed the work out of respect for our previous business relationship. We contacted Mr. Amant and gave him the opportunity to fix it and he sent his crew out to do a sample area with a different process. The new process was still not low sheen. He offered to refund our money if we chose to go with a different company, which we did and accepted the refund on the portion of the kitchen floor only. We then got two phone calls where he demanded to know what company we were using. Second phone call voicemail: "Let me know what company is redoing your floor so I know who that might be. I just figure since I am cutting / have cut you a check for $595 that you are hopefully going to have somebody redo the floor for I sure hope I am not cutting you a check and you are not living with a floor that looks pretty darn nice there." Still no check. Still shinny floor when we wanted low sheen. We are returning the check uncashed (if/when we receive it) and yes having our floor redone. Beware - Mr. Amant does not take kindly to discussion and when things are not right he is confrontational. We are truly sad that a company we had used for over 5 years, referred friends to, and given great reviews can have an owner who acuses dissatisfied customers of pocketing money. We are looking forward to putting this experience behind us, getting our floor redone and not having to talk with Mr. Amant again.
