Chimney Repair reviews in Saint Louis

He actually cleaned my sister's chimney too and did some repair work. He charged me extra. The guy who came out and did the work kind of explained everything to me, what caused the cracks and the dangers and stuff. I don't know anything about fire places but he kind of explained it all.- Mark H.
They showed up on time and were there every day. everything seemed to go fine.
After the job was "done" a lot of clean up work needed to be done, they didn't do this work.
after a few months LOTS of cracks started to form, and in some places they stucco is starting to come off. i attempted to get them back to fix it, they would not come back and stopped taking my phone calls. so I brought other contractors in to fix the cracks, here is what i was told by them.
"this is the worst stucco job i have ever seen"
"did children do this work"
"who did this? I can't believe anyone would do work like this"
"I would say you should get them to come back, but i wouldn't want them working on my house"
about 25% of the people that showed up didn't want to touch the work. Told me thanks but no thanks
about 50% told me to tear it all off and start over, They wouldn't do patching as they don't think it would actually work
the remainder told me they could use what was there as a base and redo the job over it.
this is what everyone told me about the job
- the stucco isn't thick enough
- they should have used tar paper instead of tyvek
- there are no expansion joints, (all were shocked by this)
- they left a huge mess, i had my roof redone before they started, there is stucco splatter on my roof now
- the corners aren't done properly,
- the bottom Provider name locked. of the stucco isn't done correctly
- work around the windows and doors is incorrect (again expansion joints)
- the lath isn't attached properly which combined with the thickness is causing cracks
- some suggested the shouldn't have used plywood as a backer, other seemed ok with it
so now I have 18k spent, and I am back were I started before they started the job. The most likely outcome of this is i will just put up siding. I really liked working with them at first, but now i am out a bunch of money and will need to spend a bunch more.
Do yourself a favor, don't use them for anything

They excellently offered me their best quote for the price. From what I've seen so far of checking my house, it's a very nice job. They did a very nice job replacing the full bricks that fell out. They also were done in a day. I would use this provider again in the future.
