" Babko and his team removed and refinished a badly weathered front door to our home, then rehung and trimmed it so that it closes properly." This was not an easy task; the door and trim matched adjacent woodwork that also runs throughout the home, the door wasn't closing or latching properly as the house has settled, and much of the cherry trim around the door had been damaged by pets over the years. They removed the door, filled a groove in it where old tin weather stripping had gone, and refinished it to the point where it looks brand new inside and out. They replaced exterior trim outside and also milled new trim pieces for the interior to match the old woodwork. They also added a new threshold and weather stripping, and then stained the new trim work and restained the adjacent old woodwork so that it all matches. You really can't tell the old wood from the new anymore. It all looks new, and we have a front door that closes, locks and seals properly. The price was very competitive; estimates for finishing the door were about the same, and it was difficult to find anyone who even wanted to take on the complex carpentry work. The crew arrived on time and kept to the schedule, which was important here as refinishing is done in a workshop, so you're without a front door for about a week. (That's standard; they sealed the opening up tight.) They also kept the place very clean while sanding, paining and staining. That went so well we hired them to refinish the hardwood in several rooms of our home. Again, this wasn't easy, as it was 1" top nailed oak original to the home. A lot of nails needed to be reset, in addition to the usual sanding and staining. The results are beautiful, and they worked late and on the weekend to finish on time as they'd promised. We would definitely recommend them to neighbors and friends.

" , was great to work with. He built our linen closet in his workshop based on his measurements and drove it down to install it. Our house" unfortunately is almost 90 years old and is not exactly level so we had a bit of trouble fitting it in the space. The linen closet and woodwork was beautiful however. He built us 4 drawers that fit under a basement window and a custom closet with shelving for our linens that fit around our electrical panel and water shut off valve. He also kept coming back several weekends in a row (from to Seattle!) to ensure he got it fitting level in the space. Upon his leaving it wasn't perfect so he knocked off $100 for us. we've had to do some trimming, sanding, and filling holes with putty, and of course we still need to paint it, but for the most part we're happy with the final work. The right door is slightly warped unfortunately and after leaving it in vises for two weeks to get it to bend back straight it didn't help, however we're going to install a spring roller catch latch to hold it shut. Overall we're happy with it but it certainly wasn't easy... but I blame our house, not . :-)

  • With all old houses there were many Provider name locked. problems.  Provider name locked. and his crew were very smart and creative coming up with  sound solutions to these problems.   We did the job over three summers so we could spread cost over time.  Always on time.  Only took on one job at a time so we knew they were always coming to work on our project.
They also fixed some problems caused by a previous contractor.  Provider name locked. found these problems and fixed them.  Provider name locked. has years of experience  and it shows. I highly recommend this company for any type of home construction.
