Handyman reviews in Seattle

Gary was great to work with! He helped diagnose my issue with the kitchen sink very quickly and recommended the pets to go buy. The next day, he came back and helped me install the new sink. The total time spent was around 30 minutes to install the new sink - super fast. Seems like a really nice guy who is very knowledgeable about other areas of handy work as well. Would hire again for any of my housing issues

A gentleman came and looked at the work and said he would provide a quote. He never responded even after I checked in with him and he confirmed he would, but he NEVER did. Really poor business practice to ghost a potential client.

    Jon B. Construction
Contacted Jon twice because he had such great reviews. But he never contacted us either time. We tried via email and also thru Angies list messaging. We had to select a rating and choose an answer for would you hire again, but we really cant speak to either of those things since we didnt hear from him.

Exorbitant, unrealistic prices. I was quoted $360 for a repair that would take most handymen 20 minutes. I was initially quoted $225 to remove a broken ceramic cooktop and install a new one (same model / dimensions). The price seemed high but I was willing to pay it because Damian John Construction had been referred to me. After I had scheduled a date and provided my payment info, the employee told me it would be an additional $135 for "parking" because I didn't have on-site parking in my apartment building. I explained that there was a parking lot immediately next to my building on the same block, and another larger lot one block away. I said that that I'd be happy to pay for the parking fee ($5-10) and show the repairman where to park. The scheduler then claimed that the $135 fee was also to cover the effort of carrying heavy tools from the truck into my building. Realizing that I was being scammed, I canceled the appointment and looked into doing it myself. To put this installation into perspective, with no prior experience at all, I only needed ONE tool (a screwdriver) to complete this job on my own. I can't fathom why anyone could in good faith ask $135 to carry a screwdriver to the job. Ultimately, there were only two wires to hook up, and I just hooked up the new one in the manner as the broken cooktop. It's patently ridiculous to charge nearly $400 to remove and install an appliance that cost only $300 to buy in the first place. I ended up doing the job myself, after watching a ten minute YouTube guide, and it took me thirty minutes. It's unconscionable that a company would charge these prices and THEN tack $135 to park their truck and carry one tool a couple hundred feet. If the employee would have been flexible and waived that fee, this company would have had a content customer, but now I have the most low opinion possible of Damian John.

    At Your Service Construction
On a Thursday evening, I tried to install a dimmer switch in my bathroom. I wasn't successful AND I somehow caused the switch breaker to refuse to turn "on". So now I had no electricity in the bathroom or master bedroom. And I was having houseguests arrive on Saturday! Friday morning, I looked on Angie's List for help near me and, among others, called At Your Service. Richard fit me into his schedule for that day, un-jumbled the confusion I had made of the wires and got everything back in safe, working order. In addition, I asked him about a couple of other "to-do" projects, one of which he told me about something I could get at Home Depot that would solve that problem and the other was a place I can take my new door slab to, to have the hinge and doorknob cuts made by machine, for less money than having him cut them for me when he comes to install the door. I was very pleased with his work, his responsiveness and helpfulness. The cost may seem a bit high for installing a dimmer switch, but I understand there is a base price that most service workers have per any job. I really needed this done today AND I'm pleased to have connected with Richard for future "handyman" work! Would definitely hire him again.

I tried to contact this company for our customer. I messaged several times. I received one response after a day and then tried to follow up a few times and it's crickets. Good luck to whoever else tries.

    Tools for Him
The plumbing, carpentry, drywall, texturing, painting, and finishing work, was done to our complete satisfaction. Charlie accommodated our requests for changes without complaint or additional charges. We have already hired him for another job and are recommending him to two of our neighbors who need work done. His price was very reasonable, he showed up on time, kept the work site clean, and did the work exactly as bid.

    AmyWorks Inc
Great! Amyworks was very responsive, easy to communicate with, gave me an estimate for the work and a timeframe for getting the work done. We ended up not having the work done but I was very impressed by Amyworks professionalism, communication, and response. I would definitely contact them for any future needs.

    Handy Ryan Services
I called Ryan and left a voice mail. He texted saying he was not able to answer my call and that I should send a text. I sent him a text with a description of what I needed help with. That was 4 days ago and I haven't heard back.

The project went great. I think it was slightly tougher than initially anticipated given the age of our home and some of the weirdness that goes with older homes, but Brad did a great job. He installed a new electrical outlet in a cabinet, in-wall ducting for oven range ventilation, and then mounted the above-the-range microwave (which also does the ventilation). Everything looks and works great.
