  • Easy to work with. We called them up a week or so before the replacement, talked through various options over the phone. We determined that they didn't need to come and do a pre-installation inspection because it was a Provider name locked. install, but they would have been happy to do so if we had asked. We chose Provider name locked. because they supply Rheem water heaters, which have great customer reviews. Price wasn't cheap, but we got a quality water heater and good installation, so we were okay with it.

  • Overall the work was fine, the gentlemen were actually early. They were polite and knowledgeable. However, I was taken aback at the end of the service when I was presented a bill for the tax!? They wouldn't take a credit card so I had to dig around to find a $10.00 bill. Fortunately one of them had change. We never spoke about a check, perhaps they would have taken that.
What bothers me is that I thought I had paid in full when I purchased the service. My receipt does not indicate any further money owed. The gentlemen said that there is mention of tax being owed somewhere that I could have noticed - I went back and didn't find anything in e-mails etc., but still could have missed it.
I think this is a dubious practice at best, and perhaps Angie's List needs to have a standard way for the consumer to know the total price of the service (or does it already?)
I have purchased other services from Angie's List and the tax was included in the initial payment. I have no objection to paying tax, just let me know what I'm paying for and if anything is still owed........

  • They were at my home maybe 10 or 15 minutes, and barely cleaned anything. They didn't even take everything out to clean it. They just took the top log off and barely swept. Then, they asked for my credit card. I questioned them on this, as I purchased the deal through Angie's List. He told me it was for "tax". They charged me an extra eight bucks and change. Just after they left, I couldn't get the fireplace turned off. They came back and found that the tech had not turned an internal switch back off.
