Fireplace Repair reviews in Seattle

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Walked into Provider name locked. after looking at 2 other shops in the area.  Provider name locked. was straightforward with us and gave us clear recommendations on what we were looking for. He was able to answer all of our questions, had no problems installing in Seattle, and was upfront about pricing. I asked for the installation guide from another shop so I could see the measurements - but they never sent it.  Provider name locked. sent me the install guide without my even asking! Even with the Angie's list discount, the price was similar to other shops, but we were happy to go with them. Installation went smoothly (those guys are funny!), other than our electric and gas were shut off (our fault, not theirs), so they'll have to come back to test it another time.
We felt good about buying from them and would recommend them to our friends.

  • The "lead" repairman (Provider name locked. ) provided our initial "diagnostic" service.  He determined that there was a faulty switch.  A deposit was paid to order the part, and we were were charged $100 for the so-called "free diagnostic".  He refused to acknowledge that when you advertise something as being free that means there is no charge.  In any case, a different repairman came to install the switch, which did not solve the problem.  He informed us that there was something else wrong with the fireplace.  We could pay for another service call and diagnostic charge to (hopefully) find out what is actually wrong, or just replace the fireplace.  He offered to reduce the charge of installing a new fireplace by the amount already paid.  I thought this was somewhat fair, and call their office to make arrangements.  Somehow Provider name locked. got involved and insisted on coming out to have another look first, but of course there would be another charge for that.  I have left 2 messages asking to speak with Provider name locked. before considering having him come out again since he is the "lead installer".  No response, the fireplace is still broken, we are out $170 and no closer to having our fireplace repaired or replaced

  • The technician showed up exactly on time if not a tad early and was extremely respectful of my home (whipped out the paper "booties" before entering).  He was thorough but quick in assessing the condition of my fireplace unit (I inherited the unit with my home's purchase and did not know if it had previously been serviced).  He quickly diagnosed an issue with delayed ignition (dirty connection in wall switch) and took the time to show me the inner workings of my unit, what to do in certain situations and what the built-in safety features were.  Who knew I had a flame height adjustment knob behind the front panel!  He stayed long enough to make sure the unit was igniting properly and staying on - and the cleaning he did made it look brand new!  Best value for the money on an Angie's List Coupon Deal that I've received to-date!
