Eye Care reviews in Seattle

    Spex In The City
Excellent prices and Mario went the extra yard to find and bring in from overseas hard to find glasses that no one else was able/willing to acquire. Pricing was more than fair. I had good luck previously with Eyes on Fremont but this time if it wasn't in stock, they didn't do much to help. Eye exam was also professional and state of the art.

So far so good. The recovery time for the lens to settle in may be longer due to extra surgery required. she is doing well and evidences sight in the eye which had no sight. Here other eye had retina issues; so we decided not to do the surgery since she had some peripheral vision with it and, with no guarantee on outcomes, felt this was the best choice for this dog. All staff members were wonderful to work with. And clearly the other people we met in the waiting room were quite satisfied with the experience and outcomes.

I like her. She is skilled and conscientious and very patient. She answers all questions with patience and honesty. I feel I am getting good care from her and would recommend her for management of glaucoma. The wait times can be rather long, but I believe it is because she will spend the necessary time with patients and their families.

    King LASIK
I had lasik using the advanced laser. It was nerve wracking but it only took 30 seconds per eye, eveeything was less than 10 minures. The doctors were so helpful and reassuring. They put me at ease and I left confident. I couldn't see right after, I came home blurry vision and took a benadryl to sleep for the 8 hours. I woke up feeling much better vision still blurred, and the next morning feeling blessed to see without my glasses, like every leaf on a tree. It is amazing how well I can see. I'm almost two months out and my eyes can get a little dry but not too bad and it is rare, usually when I wake up some mornings. My vision was terrible so seeing as well as I can now is feeling like a mini miracle.

    Sherman Optical
I also got a quote for him for the lenses and found out that he was 2/3rds the price of the place I had originally bought them from. So it is nice to know that when I come back, my cost will be affordable. And he grinds his own lenses.

It was very positive all around. Someone comes right up to you and interacted with you regarding what you came in for. They gave me an over view of where things are located. This happened right away, where normally I am left to explore on my own until someone helps me. They gave me a box, where I could put the frames I liked in the box while I continued to shop. About 10 minutes later, the rep that fits you for glass, Lydia, came up with more options for frames.  Lydia did a great job. She took me over to the desk to fit my frames and lenses.

    Queen Anne Eye Clinic
Office is clean and front desk staff are courteous and knowledgeable.  I arrived about 30 minutes early and Dr. Lo was able to see me early, so that was nice.  My overall impression was that the office seemed organized and was everything I expected of a professional organization.  I had been looking to find a new eye doctor and I was impressed with Queen Anne Eye Clinic.  My wife is going to go there also.

I like them.  They couldn't seem to get my contacts right but it might be my eyes and not their fault.  They are kind.  They're always available.  I liked the office environment.

    Visions Northwest
I switched to Visions Northwest a few years ago because my insurance covered them. Dr. Bird has a calm, efficient bedside manner. He's very matter of fact. He does a thorough exam, which I was satisfied with. My beef was with the frame buying experience. I felt like the woman who fitted me with the frames was aggressive in pushing a specific pair of frames on me that she liked (strongly resembling the pair she was wearing). Eventually I agreed to purchase that frame. She quoted me an estimate of around $1000 for the glasses including the frames, before the insurance discount which is only $150. And it would take two weeks to get the glasses. I was in shock. My parents suggested I shop around. I went to their optician, who is much farther away. He did not approve of the job Visions Northwest had done on the glasses I was wearing at the time.  He explained that the way they had ground the lenses had contributed to a lot of the glare and distortion I was having at night, and also made my eyes look smaller. He fitted me in a frame, and said it would be 3 days, and he grinds the lenses himself.
True to his word, I walked out in new, very complicated progressive lenses a few days later, with much better vision than before. Fact is the frames aren't the sexiest, his selection is not awesome, but, my total was 1/3 of what I was to have paid in downtown Seattle. I will not be returning to Visions Northwest. They are fine, but you are really paying for the location. Since I'm willing to drive once every two years for new glasses, I will go to the other place.
