"I had to walk them through the entire house and show them each vent. They didn't do all the vents. So I told them what they needed to clean . They were rude" and unprofessional. The coupon explained unlimited vents, however they basically told me the downstairs vents didn't need to be cleaned. They insisted they didn't need to be cleaned because they cleaned the upstairs vents which would clean the downstairs vents. I had to go and watch them clean the vents myself to make sure they did the job. Then they tried upsell me on other jobs , purchase extra filters for my vents, after saying no then they still tried to make me pay extra tax on top of the coupon.

-pamela F G.

"They ran a coupon on the list which I purchased. When I called, they did let me know that they were going to be about a month out, but I made the appointment anyway." They were on time and professional! Cleaned out what sounded like years of old dog hair (just bought a house/I've got cats) and miscellaneous . House smells better and my allergies are clearing up! Very personable crew.

Yes Jupiter. It depends on the severity of the situation, is the mold encapsulated in the insulation. If yes, than replace [insulation] it with new. Is it on the casing of the heater? If yes, clean it with a mold neutralizing metal cleaner. It's not a matter of finding something or someone to clean or address the existing mold. It's a matter of finding a contractor to rectify what is causing the mold grow. It's coming from excessive moisture in the air-handler unit. I can say with 100% surety you’re dealing with poor airflow and/or incorrect equipment sizing! Either issue will cause excessive icing of the evaporator coil, which leads to excessive condensate water in the system. The condensate will eventually overflow the drain pan leaving stagnant water in the air-handler housing, which leads to mold growth. I would not let any contractor do any kind of temporary repair, add any device like a UV light or air-cleaning product until the aforementioned is corrected. I talk a lot about this in my videos and on my website. It is the result of improper system design from unqualified contractors. There is a reason why some guys cost more than others, and this is one reason why!

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

There are varying opinions on the type of cleaning to have done on your air ducts.  My opinion is that it varies based on the type of duct work you have.  If you have solid material (typically metal) ducting you can have use a company that uses a brush to scrape the system clean.  If you have flexible plastic or foil ducts the solvent cleaners are generally a safer bet since the brushes often tear holes in the soft material and/or pull joints loose.  It really depends on what type on ducting you have.  You're ducts will collect all kinds of dirt, skin cells and allergens over time so if you see dicoloration around your vents it is probably time to get them checked and cleaned.

Also, don't stop at the duct work.  Don't forget your annual system check up by a licensed HVAC technician.  They'll make sure your system is running at peak performance, keeping it running efficiently and with as little impact as possible on your electric bill.  You can often save the cost of the annual tune up in the electricity cost saved.  If you have a natural gas system a bi-annual check and cleaning of the HVAC unit may be advisable to save electricity and gas.

Your right, HVAC companies are really not much help at all in regard to getting all the rooms and floors the same temperature, and airflow.  It's not their focus or their expertise. They repair and sell hardware.  I had the same exact problem here in Central Florida.  I had rooms that were to hot in the summer and the same ones were to cold in the colder months.  I have a 2 story 2800 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms.  I did a lot of research, and I tried to fix it myself, but in reality I made it worse.  I finally found a company here in the Central Florida area called AirFlowBalance, LLC.  Their web site is AirFlowBalance.com.  This company is not an HVAC dealer or repairer.  Their sole focus is to balance the airflow and temperature in a home by using a nonevasive proprietary process, with patented devices. Now, when I set my thermometer at 75 degrees, every room is 75 degrees.  I no longer have to bump up or down the temp from room to room.  No more thermostat wars with my family!  Also, I was very supprised at how affordable it was and the whole job was done under 3 hours.  They also have an online estimate page on their web site.  I hope this helps, and I am not sure if they have an office in AZ.
if you have exhausted all of your choices I would call and put a complain in with the BBB then go to the DA and put a complain with them.  Then get a good lawyer and sue them for all you can get.

Dryer Vent Cleaning reviews in Seattle

I wish I could tell you how the provider did, but this provider never
returned multiple phone calls from our . We were interested in having
the chimneys, gutters, and dryer vents cleaned. We called three times
and left messages over the span of two weeks. No one ever called us
back. That's too ...More bad--we had a lot of work to do.
- Raven O.

They arrived a day before I thought they were to be at my house to clean out the dryer vent, I had an appointment so I was not home when they did the work. I had them scheduled for the next day, they said it was the right day, so I guess it doesn't matter. There was some confusion when I was scheduling the appointment..They are really busy and ...More the lady had to call me back to schedule.
My dryer seems to be drying better, since I wasn't home I didn't have a to talk to them about how dirty it was or anything. They seemed fine.
- Denise R.

The company cleaned our dryer vent. We later realized that we overpaid, because we have such a short vent that we could have cleaned it ourselves (we're new to the home) -- but the good news is that the gentleman who did the service informed us of this fact. I have to appreciate his honesty! The work was well-done and professional.
- Anuradha T.

Either I talked with the first time I called for an appointment or he called me right back. He was pleasant and I was able to secure any appointment in a reasonable amount of time. On the day of my appointment, he called to let me know he would be 30 mins late, a courtesy I really appreciate. On arrival, ...More and his assistant were pleasant and good with my dogs. I didn't stay with them as they worked. In a short time, they said they were through and ready to leave. After paying, I went to the laundry room and noticed one of the plugs had not been replaced. Fortunately, they were still in the driveway and replaced it. Several hours later, I went outside and noticed that the outside exit vent was completely filled with lent. I needed to pick it all out. When I called to complain, said "oh, that was my assistant" He offered a free cleaning in other 8 months or so, but I won't be taking him up on this. Between the plug and the lint filled vent, I'm left wondering if my vents were truly cleaned out. I will use somebody else in the future.
- Kim R.

The two workers, and Avi, showed up right on time, wore booties and treated my home with great respect. T
hey went to work on the elements covered by the Big Deal right away and pointed out to me that there was tons of dust and dirt in the vents. Yuck! We have kids, dogs and a cat and not too much interest in over doing ...More it on the housekeeping...but the men were very gracious and professional in spite of that. They spent time showing me the way the system was intended to work and what cutting corners on maintainence could lead to as far as the impact of dust on the furnace and my families health.
I'd purchased a Big Deal to have a dryer vent cleaning on the recommendation of another A.L Vendor who had come to my home to service several appliances a few weeks ago.
As the inspection/service progressed it was apparent that my house needed a more thorough service than what is covered in the Deal--always read the fine print!!
So the price I paid was much, much higher than I had budgeted for, but they worked with me to get the job done well and as affordably as possible. I am generally very skeptical about "upselling" but given what they showed me and what makes sense, i didn't feel taken advantage of and will call them again.

and another person arrived promptly and started work on the outside vents, cleaning and vacuuming the lines in the 3 story building. Then moved to the inside and began each unit. He wore shoe covers which we appreciated. I did think the inside process was going to be to move the dryers and clean out the ...More hoses from the dryer to the wall. Instead each dryer was cleaned out at the face in the dryer only. I should have gathered more information up front to better understand what exactly was going to be done. I don't think these hoses were accessible from the outside. We were disappointed with all the vent lint from the outside that was left behind to blow all over the grounds and for us to clean up. They seemed in a big hurry to get done.
- Denise F.

This company was so frustrating to work with and I would NOT recommend them! They had an arrival time from 5-7pm at our rental property. Since this was not my primary residence I lined up a babysitter in order to be there. I called a day in advance and requested a call 20 minutes before their arrival in order to inform my tenants that the company ...More was on their way. At 6:30pm I had not heard from so I called and left a message to see where they were. Their answering machine states that you will receive a call back within 30 minutes. At 7:10pm I had still not heard from them so I called again. This time someone picked up and I explained the situation (that I had a scheduled appointment this evening and hadn't heard anything). The man I talked to said he'd call the technician and call me back in 10 minutes. At 7:30 (20 minutes later), I called again! This time I was told that the technician was running behind and would still be at least an hour at his current job so it would "be best for everyone if we rescheduled". I explained that it was NOT best for me (the customer!) if we rescheduled, that I had lined up a babysitter and informed my tenants that the job would be performed this evening. He again told me we'd need to reschedule. I understand that some jobs take longer than expected and sometimes you're running behind, but then I expect a phone call explaining that! I'm betting that if I hadn't called them that evening, I never would have heard from them. Extremely unprofessional!
- Paul & Jennifer E.

was very knowledgeable and professional. He went above and beyond to schedule with me. He arrived promptly, and vacuumed out the HVAC ducts (as well as the dryer duct). His information went far beyond the basics. He recognized nicotine in the dust/dirt that came out of the ducts, and solved our mystery of why the house was smelling ...More like smoke, when no one is currently a smoker! He was calm and engaging--in the world of home buying/selling, everyone's a bit nervous--we need calm and qualified!! He really saved the day. I have already recommended him to my Realtor colleagues.
