Seattle Dryer Duct Services Reviews
hey went to work on the elements covered by the Big Deal right away and pointed out to me that there was tons of dust and dirt in the vents. Yuck! We have kids, dogs and a cat and not too much interest in over doing it on the housekeeping...but the men were very gracious and professional in spite of that. They spent time showing me the way the system was intended to work and what cutting corners on maintainence could lead to as far as the impact of dust on the furnace and my families health.
I'd purchased a Big Deal to have a dryer vent cleaning on the recommendation of another A.L Vendor who had come to my home to service several appliances a few weeks ago.
As the inspection/service progressed it was apparent that my house needed a more thorough service than what is covered in the Deal--always read the fine print!!
So the price I paid was much, much higher than I had budgeted for, but they worked with me to get the job done well and as affordably as possible. I am generally very skeptical about "upselling" but given what they showed me and what makes sense, i didn't feel taken advantage of and will call them again.
They explained the process and cleaned up after it was completed."
One technician vacuumed out my air ducts (didn't seem to be any further in than I get with my own vacuum) while the other looked at the intakes and furnace. Like everyone else here, I got the line that my air intakes were the worst he'd ever seen and that they needed to be cleaned out NOW, for $45/intake. He showed me pictures on his phone... I have no way of knowing if they were actually pictures of the intakes in my house or not. (Since they were cleaned thoroughly 3 years ago, I somehow doubt that I am in peril of death by dirty intakes.)
I knew as soon as he launched into his "good news/bad news" spiel that it was an up-sell scam, so I said I'd just take what I'd already paid for, thanks. At that point, he offered to call the office to see if they could lower the price. I thanked him and declined. By that point, I wanted them OUT of my house. Luckily, they were gone within 20 minutes of arriving. I'm certain the "cleaning" they did do must have been terribly thorough.
How I wish I'd belonged to Angie's List before buying that stupid Groupon. Hopefully no one else will get snagged in this scam.
It went very well. Great customer service and a quick and thorough resolution to my problem.
While they were here they also checked my furnace filters to see if I needed a duct cleaning. I did not need that but they gave me a way to help assess when I would next need them.
A young company. I'd recommend them highly!"
