Dry Cleaning reviews in Seattle

Dresses were hemmed to mid-thigh instead of mid-knee, as I'd asked. The mirror in the lobby is not full length, so it's not possible to to see where they've pinned you while standing up straight. When I asked how much it would cost to have the hems let back out, the owner was rude and argumentative. I finally just left and took the dresses to a different tailor to pay even more to have them fixed, but it turns out the hems couldn't be let back out because they didn't reserve enough fabric to do so - the dresses were ruined. They still had the tags on and I had never even worn them. $154 for sleeves and hems on 2 dresses is absurd, even if they'd done it right. I can chalk the mistake up to a misunderstanding, but there's no excuse for the argumentative (lack of) customer service, especially at that price point.

They pickup & delivery from our home in north Seattle. They have always done a great job (used them for about a year now). Today was especially great. The hook we use to have our cleaning hung at the front door broke, and our driver put it on the back door, covered it with extra plastic, called and emailed that he had to move the clothes. We just love this level of service, and recommend them to all of our friends and family.

Had 15 white dress shirts in for cleaning.  When I got them back, there were very noticeable yellowish stains on 6 shirts...some on the front, some on back and others on the sleeves.  These weren't small spots, but were large yellowish blotches.   Brought unworn shirts back the following week while dropping off more laundry

When I picked up the shirts, I was informed the owner was upset and re-cleaned them  at no charge as a courtesy, but said he wouldn't do it again for free.

Needless to say, I never went back and never will again.

The owner is really personable. If you get a stain, he does focus on that stain. He does great work and is prompt. He's cautious about the chemicals that they use. For some people, that's an issue. He's efficient and has great turn-around time. It's a very family-friendly place and really good.

    Phinney Ridge Cleaners
I love this dry cleaner! For a few years I used one of the chains in town but they damaged several pieces of clothing (including an almost new and expensive overcoat in a way that cannot be repaired) so I finally said enough. After looking at reviews I decided to give Phinney Ridge Cleaners a try. It is a small mom-n-pop place but the quality of the cleaning is excellent. I've had 4 batches of clothes cleaned and every item looked great. I recently took in another coat that my old cleaners had trouble with (damaged it but it was and quot;repairableand quot;) and it came back looking great too - no problem at all!

All our dry cleaning has been done without complaint until this last item. My skirt was return cleaned but I found that the two metal zippers on the front pockets were frozen shut. They are a functional design element. The regular zipper was fine. I took the skirt back to them to seek their assistance, as I had never had such a problem before. They quickly went on the defensive and focused on denying that they had cleaned the skirt. This is the only dry cleaning service that we have used and I had the hanger with the safety pins in place and matching pin holes in the skirt waist band. They would not make any attempt to assist me with the problem; they just refused that they had cleaned the skirt. I have stopped using their services as has my spouse. If they had given any consideration to the problem rather than denying any association, I would not be writing this review.

We have had several items damaged by this dry cleaner.  They seem to have particular problems with coats.  I took in my husband's trench coat and they broke off the button holding on the decorative epaulet strap on the shoulder which then also caused the strap to fall off at some point.  They returned the coat without saying anything about it.  I noticed as soon as I got home and went back a couple days later with the coat.  They eventually (another call and visit later) found the strap in the lost and found which I then had to sew on at home (even though they do alterations, they refused to do the sewing on this) after buying all new buttons for the coat so that the buttons would once again match each other.  I figured mistakes happen and I was willing to give them another chance.  A couple months later I took in a very nice, almost new trench coat of mine which has decorative buckle straps around the wrists.  Instead of removing them for the cleaning, they kept them on and the buckles got the h*** chewed out of them.  There is no way to repair them and instead I had to use a black sharpie pen to at least try to minimize the obvious damage.  I mean seriously, have they never cleaned overcoats before?  So damage once I'll forgive but twice means I'm looking for a new dry cleaner.

Basically, the coat was converted from a size medium to a size small. The results were perfect in that it isn't apparent that any alterations were done. John is an outstanding tailor who really understands how clothes are constructed and applies that knowledge to the alterations he makes.

My wedding gown was very soiled along the bottom from walking outside and taking photographs in the park.  Bob, the owner paid special attention to my gown and got the majority of all the stains out without ruining the satin material or snagging my dress.  This was a big concern of mine.  The dress was nicely pressed and packaged.  Bob was very busy as the wedding season is upon us and so I said that I was in no rush for my dress.  It took him about a month, but I didnt mind.
The lady at the front always seems angry or grumpy but I am starting to think it is her personality and nothing against me, however I would think in a customer service job you would hire someone that liked to be around people or someone who is cheerful.
