Tile Installation reviews in Seattle

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • The owner is a general contractor who dropped in occasionally to ascertain how the subcontractors were performing. The tile subcontractors, who were husband and wife, were excellent. True craftspeople.
The plumber however was a different story. First, the tub did not fit due the end wall and floor being less than 90 degrees. The fix required that the short wall needed to be removed, i.e. re-framed and  re-dry walled. Instead of the plumber took the liberty of doing a quick fix by cutting notches in the 2x4's to permit the tub to fit.
I asked if the tub required a mortar base per the manufacturers installation instructions. The plumber told me and my wife that this was not necessary. Stating that the manufacturers instructions sometimes were not relevant. The tub was installed to the surrounding studs via screws in the tub flange. Next the tiler installed the waterproof board in prep for the tile. When I stepped into the tub it sounded like the Provider name locked. acrylic tub was made out of cheap plastic which would break at any second. The plumber had to come back and cut a 12x 24 hole in the wall to spray foam under the tub to mitigate the cracking sound. Next the plumber installed the shower fixture backwards, i.e. hot was cold and cold was hot. Again he had to come back and fix the error.  The plumbers communication and  service was  extremely disappointing. After a $14,000 remodel the tub still creaks.
The electrician wanted to go under our home and drill holes to install the wiring for the heated floor and cut massive holes in the  drywall requiring added expensive and eye sore patches. I had to direct the electrician to an alternative method saving us significant time and money. The thermostat was defective and needed to be replaced the first day. I needed to investigate thermostats and suggest an alternative product which was initially frowned on by the electrician.   The product I found was superior and less expensive than the one used by the electrician. At the conclusion of the work the ECT owner gave us the "my wife and I are leaving town on vacation tomorrow so we need our money" statement like we were going to stiff him.  We have received no follow up inquiry from  anyone to determine our level of satisfaction. Other than the title installer I would not use or recommend ECT again.

  • The experience was great.    Several of the companies I contacted were 2 weeks or even 2 months out on their schedule.   Provider name locked. scheduled to bid the next week, provided a written quote on the same day! and were available to do the work the week following.  I asked for clarification of the bid and received the same right away.   When it was time to start they laid out fabric tarps to protect a bamboo floor.  At end of day, they cleaned up their work areas.   On site four days, the crew put in full days and communicated clearly of start and stop times.    From the bid/estimate to the tile install Provider name locked. was timely, professional and did exactly what they promised.   All four tile areas look very good.    We plan to use Provider name locked. again to tile a new shower at our new home.   Highly recommend this group!

  • It went beautifully. From our phone conversation, there was a small Provider name locked. that the job would qualify for Provider name locked. minimum charge. When Provider name locked. showed up, it was immediately obvious to him that the job was a bit bigger. He quoted a price, which was eminently fair, and we accepted. Provider name locked. started right in on the cleaning and worked diligently throughout the day.
The shower is clean and looks great. Provider name locked. and Provider name locked. are both very pleasant and professional. Highly recommended.
