I contacted Provider name locked. 's Provider name locked. because of the reviews here on Angie's List. I made an appointment with a gentleman who arrived about ten minutes late, which was no big deal. He said that he was late because he left without his notepad that had our address on it. A red flag, but hey, who hasn't left for a client meeting without the necessary equipment. He didn't have a scrap of paper on him, so we gave him some. He proceeded to spend a whole bunch of time being very friendly and telling all sorts of stories about his nephews, life, etc, but I really just wanted to focus on flooring. He was at the house for quite a while. It was a Friday, he said he'd have the quote to us by Monday. On Tuesday he called and seemed to have very little recollection of what we had actually discussed while at our house. He also said he looked everywhere but couldn't find the piece of paper (which we'd given him because he left without his pad) on which he'd taken his notes from his visit. Something about a window open in his truck and papers flying everywhere. He asked for a reminder of what we'd talked about. I reminded. He said he'd be emailing us the quote. It's a week later and I've heard nothing. It was a pretty disappointing experience and I wish he hadn't wasted our time. We were ready to get going with flooring and now we have to start over with another company.

Provider name locked. himself came out to measure our building's hallways and stairs for new carpet. Provider name locked. later dropped off sample boards.
After we'd chosen the carpet, we shopped around. We ended up giving Provider name locked. the work in the end because they submitted the most reasonable bid.
My primary contact, by email and phone, was with Provider name locked. . She helped with the samples and she scheduled the work. Provider name locked. was exceptionally easy to work with.
Shortly before the removal/installation date, Seattle City Light informed us that power would be out to the block on installation day, for utility work. I was willing to reschedule, but Provider name locked. consulted her crew. They wanted to go forward despite the possible blackout conditions. The power did go out, early, and yet the crew performed carpet removal under extraordinary conditions: on a hot day, no lights indoors, using only headlamps that I provided them (they really should've brought their own, though), with black dust in the air due to the old carpet pad having disintegrated.
After the installation, I noticed that a set of small, regular holes were visible in all the 2nd floor hallway carpet. There were also some scuffs to the interior paint. Provider name locked. sent a guy out to examine the work. He touched up the scuffs. He also determined that the 2nd floor holes were due to one of the installers using an improper technique. Provider name locked. himself called later and said that they would come back and reinstall the 2nd floor carpet at their own expense. They did.
So although I was disappointed by the initial installation error (the holes), we were pleased by the final result. Kudos to Provider name locked. for being a real professional and getting the error fixed for us as soon as possible.
