  • Provider name locked. required at least 50% deposit up front ($6500) paid in February with the estimate, rather than the customary 10% up to $1000 deposit in California.  They would not take the contract without 50% down. My advice now is to cancel all orders with any vendor who requires more than 10% deposit to get started.
    Then there was a significant 45-day delay in obtaining the product from the manufacturer.
    The job was scheduled for 2 days, Thursday and Friday, April 2-3, 2015.  On Thursday they removed the old baseboard and installed a small vinyl floor section in the bathroom hallway.  They did not remove the old carpet on Thursday as I requested from the foreman, to be able to fix the noisy floorboards in many areas. My advice is to demand up front that the installers to take out the old Provider name locked. day and install new carpet the next day, giving you the homeowner a Provider name locked. to fix defects in the sub-flooring first, or demand the crew to do it right for you.
    Instead Provider name locked. choose to remove and install all of the carpet in one day without giving me a Provider name locked. to nail down the squeaking and popping floorboards, even when I asked the foreman to wait just 30 minutes, they did not and just barreled through the installation without concern for the homeowner desires.  They did not even take the time to vacuum up the old carpet fragments and dust, but just installed the new material right over it.  They laughed at me for trying to vacuum up the mess myself.  The carpet installers also did not clean up the carpet mess in the driveway.  I was responsible for the outside cleanup of cut carpet scraps and fibers as well. It was obvious that this was not a Provider name locked. crew, but an outside contractor hired to work the job instead, because my house is in east San Provider name locked. , and they were h***-bent on finishing at 3PM on Friday, no matter what.  (Please note that the specialized baseboard installer did a great installation job, stayed late AND cleaned up after himself. It was the carpet install crew which did a poor installation and cleanup job.)
    Also I was not warned by the sales person that the new plush carpet is 1/2" taller than the original carpet.  This required nearly all interior doors (11 of them) to be trimmed at least 1/2" at the bottom, to allow the door to move at all and allow for forced air flow under the door.  I asked the foreman to trim the doors for me and he refused, even though they had a table saw available to cut the baseboards. I was required to go to the store on Friday afternoon and buy a new circular saw just to trim the doors myself. I also had to re-hang all of these doors myself.  My advice is to demand up front that the carpet installation crew do all required door trimming and re-hanging, as it is a function of having new, taller carpet installed. The customer should not be required to do this work.
    Now I am so disappointed every time I walk into the bedrooms and have to hear the floorboards pop and bang together as I walk on the new carpet. I am also disappointed that in the months since the installation, most of the seams in the smooth, plush carpet have become increasingly visible, especially after vacuuming the carpet.  Provider name locked. should warn customers buying high-end carpet products that they do not have the skilled labor required to keep seams from showing. They look sophomoric in quality and cannot be fixed. They should also warn customers that high-end plush carpets are much more difficult to vacuum, as the brush head just gets sucked down and will not move without great force. I was not expecting to have to buy a different, weaker powered vacuum just to solve this problem. Lastly, they put down polished aluminum floor strips, instead matching them to the brass trim throughout the house. I was told that is what they had on the truck.
    To be fair, the new carpet itself is wonderful to walk on in bare feet, and makes the house look much more elegant and up-to-date.  It's really the poor prep work which I am most disappointed with about this job.  And as for most jobs, it's the prep work that is most important in getting a quality outcome.

  • S & G removed our old carpets and installed new carpets in 3 bedrooms.  Provider name locked. came out and gave us our estimate and showed me the layout of the carpets including where the seam would be located (by the headboard).  After installation, the seam in the master bedroom was right at the entrance.  We also noticed large scratches on the bed, the desk, and the door jamb to our bathroom.  I contacted them and they kindly reinstalled the carpet in the master bedroom with the seam at the headboard as originally planned and removed the furniture moving fee.  We are still left with a huge scratch on our bed and damage to the door jamb and desk.  I suggest moving your own furniture if possible.  The carpet itself looks great.

  • Great job! stains  that did not come out previously are gone!  Provider name locked. was careful, thorough, pleasant and very professional throughout. Provider name locked. , the owner was very responsive when I decided to add the furniture cleaning after I had purchased a coupon for the carpet cleaning. I will certainly use them again
