    Very well. The saleswoman was very experienced and professional. Even made a second trip to make sure all me measurements were correct. The installer was punctual and very efficient. We really like our new blinds.

    We like to use local merchants who excel at quality and service.  Sylvanus Draperies is one of these.
    In 2012 Mr. Brickley came to our house and gave us some initial suggestions. We then stopped by the store on Taraval Street to check out some options.  He had great ideas -- thank goodness, since we've never bought drapes before.  A few weeks later, he installed the drapes -- and they look great!  Really turns up the "elegance factor" in our living room ... and they're quite a step up from the Japanese standing screens we'd been using for years.

    Nice job, nice people.  We stopped by the store on Judah Street in San Francisco's Outer Sunset to get ideas, then Andy came to our house and suggested shades and blinds.  A few weeks later he installed them.  They look great, everything went as scheduled, the suggestions were perfect.

     Darryl, who describes himself as the manager refused to work with us. To convey this message he was rude, aggressive, and frankly inappropriate. 

    He decision was based on our desire to request estimates from a series of providers. The way he spoke to me was completely unnecessary and offensive. When I asked to speak to a manager or a owner he refused exclaiming "you're an idiot, we don't want your business". His offensive tone continued even after I apologized for possibly upsetting him.  

    Blind Ambition is completely unprofessional and angry. I certainly wouldn't suggest anyone to work with this company.

    Having just purchased a 10-year-old home, I hired Herb to help
    with several of the smaller jobs that arise on such occasions and which I did not
    judge to require specialized attention.  Having had many bad contractor
    experiences before, I negotiated very specifically with Herb and we worked out
    what I believe were mutually agreeable terms.  He was game for such negotiations
    and did not seem to be affronted by my desire to have clearly-agreed terms on
    the front end to avoid misunderstanding that would lead to animosity on both
    sides on the back end.
    Herb repaired a toilet, traded out some old halogen
    lights with new LED fixtures, installed curtain rods, a medicine cabinet, a
    shaving mirror, and a recessed in-cabinet trash receptacle.  These were small
    projects that many people could do themselves; for those of us either
    incompetent or simply preferring not to undertake such tasks, Herb is an
    affordable and competent handyman.
    Consistent with some other reviews, Herb has not always
    arrived promptly on time.  He has, however, always called to give a revised
    estimate of when he would arrive.  If your time is precious, this might be
    a problem, but it didn?t bother me and he has never been substantially late. 
    The most he ever overshot his schedule time was perhaps forty-five minutes, in
    my experience.
    Complaints in other reviews that Herb is slow in his work are not unfounded.  Much of
    the work he did for us took significantly longer than I expected. 
    Still, I hired him because I don?t really know what is involved in such work and
    so am not in a position to judge.  In all fairness to Herb, I have rarely found
    that these kinds of jobs go as quickly as I thought they should, regardless of who was doing the work for me; which is to
    say, this sense of frustration on my part is by no means unique to Herb and so
    does not necessarily reflect poorly on him.
    One of the curtain rods he installed proved to hang too
    low, so the curtain dragged the floor.  He reinstalled it and did not bill for
    the work.  He may have made up for that time elsewhere, as other work that I
    expected to be quick and simple dragged on for hours.  A trip for supplies
    seemed to take a remarkably long time given that the job (installing some under-counter
    lights, which had been purchased previously) seemed straightforward, unlikely to
    involve complex or hard-to-find parts, and there is a Lowe?s five minutes away from the house. 
    Still and again, I am not competent to judge, as I really do not know what is
    For small jobs that do not require specialized knowledge
    or equipment and are not (literally or figuratively) heavy lifts, Herb has
    demonstrated competence.  He is genial and pleasant to have around the house.  (That alone is worth a good deal; I have had any number of tradesmen who were surly and I just did not like having around.)  I
    was particularly pleased that he told me up front that he would not be able to
    perform certain tasks for me, rather than just attempting but then doing them
    badly.  His price, in my experience, is unbeatable.

    I love the blinds - the quality of the product and the installation is really great.  They look awesome.
    I was told however that my blinds would be installed by a certain date.  As that date approached, I did not hear from them and no one responded to my calls and emails.  The blinds were delivered to them late apparently and they were installed a few weeks later, after the christmas and new years holidays.  Unfortunately I needed the blinds for one of my guest rooms and a guest had to stay in a room with a sheet across the window during the holidays!  But now that they are installed I love them and despite the delays I would use Window Fashion Pros again because the blinds look great and feel like they are very high quality.

    Gary was one of three providers we were looking at.  While all of them were knowledgeable and professional, Gary went the extra mile to give us more options that would fit our budget and needs. We had a lot of windows to cover and I knew it was going to be pricey. I appreciate that Gary presented us with less expensive options that would still meet our preferences. He came twice to show us the different options and get precise measurements.

    Installation with his son and nephew went very smoothly. Gary is clearly very experienced and good with detail. The blinds look great and I'm confident that if anything breaks or malfunctions, Gary will there to fix it.  He is a pleasure to work with.

    Excellent, fast work. Only issue was scheduling, as times changed a few times. However, considering the decent price, the quality of the work, and how fast they were able to do it, the overall experience is an A.

    Budget Blinds of San Francisco SW
    Firstly, because of backorder, it took about 5 weeks instead of 2.5 weeks as estimated. This is not necessarily  bad, but I had to contact them to find out. I would have appreciated a call. The way it works is also not convenient, you call a message service, have to leave all your details every time (very annoying) and then (most times, not every time) they call back. 
    Because of the long wait time, I made a separate appointment for the everything, but the drapes that where still on backorder. My HoA requires all contractors to be off site by 4;30pm. I had clearly communicated this, and despite that, they did not finish on time. They arrived somewhere mid morning, instead of 9-9:30am as promised.
    Then the drapes: the first appointment: they did not show up and did not even call. Again I had to initiate contact through their inefficient call back system. The second time, the came and hang up the drapes.
    Lastly, I had explained I want my bedroom to be completely dark. Instead of suggesting a valence, I had to ask for it after the installation. I contact them for a quote, and after the first reply: they would get back to, they never did.
    1) the quality of the products is good, I like what I have.
    2)'Budget' does not seem appropriate in the tile..  
    3) The service, reachability, getting back etc is abysmal

    They were very pricey and their service was terrible. He didn't show up for one appointment and the other he was late to. He then wanted to charge me additional costs above the deal; and I just didn't want to go through with the work. I expected some additional costs; but not as much as he was asking for.
