"I had a problem with a Rheem water (never buy again, btw) that was still under warranty. Spoke to Rheem, we figured out the problem and they sent the required part" via Fedex. In order to not void the warranty, it had to be professionally installed. I called a couple of places and then selected . The tech came on the same day that I called. He arrived within the appt window stated. He quickly installed the new part and even showed me how to install it, should the need arise. He also coached me as I reassembled the water heater burner, burner doors with gaskets, and igniter assembly. He even waited until it was lighting consistently and running well before leaving. He also cleaned up the work area. The service call could not have gone any better. In actuality, everything that the tech did after installing the new part was above and beyond the original scope of the service call. After the problems that I'd had dealing with this water heater and with Rheem, I cannot overstate how much I appreciated that extra time, conscientiousness and attention to detail. He was knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and personable. By the way, this all happened in the late afternoon on a Friday!! As long as keeps their prices reasonable for new fully installed, there is no doubt from whom I will be purchasing my next water heater!

"I was able to make an appointment for the next day to have the heater replaced. On that call I was informed that the price did not include the cost of the permit" required by the city of SF, and that this would cost me an additional approx. $188, but that they would secure the permit for me. That seemed reasonable, and I said okay. Then the contractor arrived at the very end of the five hour window of time they provided, and presented me with a form to sign before they would do the pre-paid work, stating that (1) they would NOT be getting a permit, and that the work would be performed by an UNLICENSED contractor. I come to Angie's List to find high quality providers, and because I needed to restore hot water to a tenant quickly I was over a barrel. I had pre-paid for an Angie's List deal, from a supposedly high quality provider, but had no choice but accept an unlicensed worker and non-compliance with city codes. In fact, the installer told me that when they make calls in response to Angie's List deals, the installer is told to just "quickly slam it in, and leave." I had to persuade the installer to strap the heater in the same manner as the adjacent heater, installed last year by Home Depot, with a permit. (albeit at greater expense.) Next time I will ignore Angie's List, go to Home Depot, and have the job done by someone I know I can trust. That said, in the end the work seems (to my untrained eyes anyway) to be of adequate quality.

  • I was pleased with the service received. Provider name locked. was available to speak with on a Sunday, which was great. They were one of the few with a 5 star Yelp review. The installer, Provider name locked. was punctual, courteous, suggested a way to get a promotional coupon which saved me money, cleaned up well, and stayed to show me how to use the new system.
