    Mulhall Construction
Adrian was always easy to communicate with and work with throughout the project and provided terrific on-site oversight. The job was done on time and on budget and, as much as possible for a large project, the job site was kept neat. Based on my experience with Adrian, my family members have since used Mulhall Construction for foundation work on their homes and been pleased with the results, as well. I enthusiastically recommend Mulhall Construction!

Durakool Patio Covers & Sunrooms, Inc.
The enclosed patio does not have insulation, which is necessary for the weather. When I called to inquire about putting insulation on the roof, they explained that this is impossible for them to do, and that in order to put insulation in the structure, they would have to tear it completely down and build a new one, priced at $35k.

    Mulhall Construction
We recently completed a renovation of our house. After a careful review of the bids, we selected Mulhall Construction for the project, and could not have been more pleased with the outcome. There were several outstanding aspects of how Mulhall worked to deliver our project:
    1. High quality work--We were impressed by the quality of the work by Mulhall's crew and their subcontractors. We also noticed that they would take action quickly when there were crew/subcontractors not performing quality work, which was something we much appreciated.
    2. Excellent problem solving skills--Our house was built in 1970's, so we expected problems as we make major changes to the house. As it turned out, there were many. To name a few, we discovered some major beam support issues when they opened the walls.  We also found pipeline rotting after opening up the floor, and the resin panels that serve as partitions to the kitchen did not level with the old floor.  In each case, they worked with us and the architect and engineer to come up with good, practical solution.  What we appreciated the most was the "can-do" problem-solving attitude of the project manager, Eamon Greaney.
    3. Responsive and sensitive to our needs--Two way communication between the project manager and us was never an issue.  We were routinely (early morning, midday, late evening) in touch with Eamon via email and text messages ( in-person meetings as necessary) such that we felt we really knew what was happening to our house anytime. Eamon was sensitive to our relationship with our neighbors, and made a point to introduce himself to them at the beginning of our project.  One time, when he had to have his crew work on a Saturday, he received a concern from one of our neighbors, so he immediately stopped his staff from working that day and texted me. This was worked out amiably as a result.  Adrian Mulhall, owner of Mulhall Construction, also checked in with us periodically throughout the process to be sure that we were satisfied with the project progress.
    4. Reliable, trustworthy, and fair:  We have a project manager who can be trusted for his words.  On a couple of occasions, when he saw that his crew had made a mistake, though it would be costly to fix the problem, he immediately made the correction with no hesitation, and covered the costs.
    5. Cost conscious: Eamon was budget conscious and in his effort to address problems, he always gave us a few options so that we could make the best choice. As a result, we did not have any major cost increases.  Our overall project cost came to less than 5% over budget, and that amount was largely due to owner-initiated items.
We now have a beautifully renovated house.  The quality project management by Eamon of Mulhall Construction, based on the design by our architect Andrew Morrall, have made it possible.  We count ourselves as lucky to have found them, and know that if we have new renovation work in the future, we will definitely look to them again as partners for our project.

The deck and sunroom were about $30,000 and redoing the whole stairs and landing was about another $25,000. They were great. The communication and timing were great. The pricing was reasonable in terms of other bids I got. I would definitely use them again.

    Reno Sunrooms Inc
Reno Sunrooms Inc. did a good job. There was some problems that they addressed immediately, like in a couple of days. Things go wrong, but it's more how people correct them that makes a difference than everything going flawlessly. They were very professional and were concerned about customer service. I think they're new to installing screens. I had a feeling the sunroom thing would go easier because they've been doing that longer. I just think that the reason why it didn't go in correctly the first time is because they haven't installed enough of them. He basically said they had to actually call the manufacturer to find out what to do. That's fine, but that means that he doesn't have much experience. It's not a huge criticism, I think they just need some experience with these screens.

The project went according to plan and cost.  They were very responsive and had to work with another contracting company who was doing the roofing and waterproofing under the deck.   Ronan who managed the project was very responsive and since I live out of town it was helpful to have someone I trusted on this project.

    B Side Construction
After purchasing our new home we decided to add a ground level 1 bedroom apartment roughly 1000 square feet. The available space required some dirt removal to be able to build the appropriate apartment. After receiving several quotes me and my husband decided to go with B-Side Construction. They walked us through the building process and helped with the permits and the architect. the project took just about 2 months to complete. The house has a side entrance to the backyard so we never felt that the house was under construction, the workers were really nice and respectful to our property and us. I am not a construction expert but will do my best to explain what I saw. The build started with removal of the excess dirt to start the foundation for the apartment. Then came the framing and the floor, fallowed by the electrical and the plumbing work. Sheetrock was hung, patched, and painted. In the bathroom we decided to install tile, with all the appropriate accessories. the bedroom has a closet and a window, which was cut open in an existing wall and reinforced. The entire apartment has hardwood floors in each room except for the bathroom. The were even able to install a door in the back of the apartment and create a small storage space, really neat. The kitchen and the cabinets created very nice kitchen with black marble counter top. The entire apartment received 4 windows, front door, and a patio was built in front of the door in the back yard. We even asked if they could rebuild our fence which was falling apart at the time, so they agreed and gave us a fairly cheap price, since we were already doing the apartment they gave us a deal. Overall me and my husband are very pleased with the experience, for the money we invested and the price increase on our house, this was well worth it.

    MCMAHON CONSTRUCTION
After working with numerous vendors, large and small, throughout the 1+ year remodeling process (from design through construction), I am comfortable saying that things never go perfectly. It's easy to provide great customer service when things are going well -- but our experience has taught us that the true test of a vendor/contractor is how they respond when things are bumpy...and major remodels are inherently bumpy with unexpected twists no matter how good the team or your planning is.
I can only say wonderful things about Emmet's customer service and attention to detail. From day one, he has repeated that his goal is that we are happy with the end result. He balances great service with practicality, expert advice, great craftsmanship and professionalism. He will tell you like it is -- i.e., if we want and quot;thatand quot; it will cost $X, but if we want that it will cost $X -- he will not make promises he can't keep just to blow sunshine [in places the sun doesn't shine]. He is exceedingly calm and responsive. He genuinely cares about your project and home.
We found McMahon Construction through Angie's List (cross-referenced with Yelp). We were initially impressed by his detailed proposal. It was not the cheapest (by far) of the 10 or so contractors we interviewed -- his estimate was among the highest. We targeted sole proprietorships that had a crew that could handle about 2 jobs at a time. We didn't want to go with larger and overly expensive companies and also avoided the least expensive options. The other complication was that we had to live in the house during major construction, so we had to choose a company that we could and quot;liveand quot; with. We have never regretted choosing Emmet and his crew.
During the remodel. Emmet's crew was on site every morning at the same time -- I never wondered if or when they were going to show up (like some horror stories about contractors I've heard from friends). From the minute they arrived, they were cheerfully working, worked a full day, and cleaned-up every evening when they left (to minimize the dust as much as possible since we were living in the house). There was a LOT of dust...and I will not sugar-coat it...it was difficult to live in a construction site for several months through a long and dusty remodel. But, Emmet and his team made it as bearable as possible.
When things didn't go perfectly or we had to talk about expenses (even a few minor disagreements), I was always comfortable approaching Emmet for a discussion and always came away feeling like we had an equitable result. I never felt like Emmet shirked his responsibility and would adjust or and quot;redoand quot; work accordingly. On the flip side, he would explain, to my satisfaction, if something would be an added cost (change order). I did learn to document our agreements and clearly articulate expectations through this process! Emmet would meet us anytime to discuss the progress or address concerns or questions. He was also very tolerant (nice, actually) about my many many lengthy late night emails which included lists of things to do. Emmet responds quickly and comprehensively to all emails and phone calls. One of the true indicators of his commitment is that his level of customer service is the same today as it was during the and quot;salesand quot; process and the beginning of the project. It has never wavered or declined. As you can imagine, he knows us pretty well by now and he has never become lazy about customer service or taken advantage of the good client-business relationship we've developed. Even now that the core part of the project is complete, he still responds quickly to questions we have. It has been an expectation that he unwittingly set for our interactions with other vendors during the remodel. We would compare the service we received from Emmet with the service from other folks. Sadly, there was often no comparison and many other service providers fall short compared to McMahon Construction.
The most important part - my family now has a beautiful home that I know is sturdy, has great infrastructure, and has been detailed and finished with the utmost attention and care. This is gorgeous quality work by a crew who really knows what they are doing. By the way, we still have lingering projects and McMahon Construction is back and working on them. I would notconsider hiring anyone else to work in my home.

    A Green Home
Jack was a lifesaver, coming out to the house on a rainy Saturday morning within two hours of my call to assess the damage. He quickly found someone to come out and help him locate the source and contain the leak. He and his workers were very professional,  courteous, and helpful to my tenants--often going above and beyond. The communication during the project was great. Jack called every day to let me know the progress and any other issues that cropped up. He often offered different solutions and tried to be mindful of the budget. The job took awhile--mostly because it kept raining! The job turned out to be quite expensive, but the quality of the work was excellent. And it's guaranteed!

    MN Construction Inc
M&N Construction is a great company to work with.  They were very involved from the beginning of the project until it was completed.  They helped me secure the proper permitting for the job and were very attentive to my needs throughout the entire process.  They are very easy to work with and will go above and beyond the normal contracted working hours to make you happy.  Their work is top notch (perfectionists).  Their whole team is very friendly and professional.  They continue to be very responsive to me even though the project was completed months ago.  I would recommend M&N Construction for any remodel or new construction.
