Hospital Care reviews in San Francisco

    Kaiser Permanente
We will see if it is a lasting and total fix, but so far my care has been wonderful and affordable. I love Altha Greenstone, and the hospital stay was much better than with SUtter Health. Kind and attentive nurses & staff, really concerned about managing pain, not waking you up every hour.

I like the fact that one can go there if there are no super emergencies but sort of urgent and they would accommodate you there.  My doctor there is very friendly, he likes to joke which I appreciate and that helps.  He responds to my email pretty quickly, only on one case when he went on vacation and he did not delegate to other doctors.

I feel very safe there. I feel like people know what they are doing. If you have ever been in a hospital and have been given the wrong medication or anything else that's not quite right, you just are in awe at the difference and that everyone is doing their job there. We've lived in different parts of the country and in some places the medical care is really bad and this place is really good. I've recently had some ultra sounds. They are very caring. They are very professional. They actually know what they are doing and they do it well. You feel very safe there. You feel like it going to be okay.
I had had some chest discomfort and I saw the doctor and the next day I had the scans, so I would say the availability was very good. Sometimes you have to wait a little bit but not more than 15 minutes.

The doctor who did the surgery was competent and knew his business. I didn't look outside Kaiser for an option and in Kaiser itself it is very hard to get this kind of surgeries. We get very few opportunities like this to use it.

I have no memory of the treatment in eureka, i assume from the coma meds. they used. fact the first few days in san fransico are real fuzzy. I was first treated for the infection by installing a drain right into the absess. which was an alternative to surgery to cut out the abcess. it took some time to drain, and was put on antibiotics to the specific bug causing the infection. the drian did not get all the infection, so they had to repostion the drain, a week to 10 days later all was gone. all the while I was closely monitered by heart monitor. with now problem. but the cardioac dept. thought I should have a defibulator installed to prevent this from happening again. so after all signs of infection were proven to be gone, to include the blood. I had a defib installed. all in all I spent 7 weeks in the hospital. i was released and they even took me to the airport at no charge to fly home as this hospital is 300 miles away. I had to pay my own way home as the way provided by the hospital would have been to painfull. (via shuttle bus) I am still recovering and have recieved follow up calls from some of the depts their, mainly the cardio dept. also the GI dept. via letters.

Everything went excellent. The pre-op preparation was very good. They had a pre-op clinic that was one-stop shopping and a required pre-op class. The care in the hospital was excellent. The nurses were extremely knowledgeable & competent in their specialty & were really spot-on in what they needed to do.

I like my doctors very much, but it took me a long time to find them. My gynecologist was one of the top gynecologists in the Bay Area last year, and I have been really happy with her. I have been with her for a long time. Also my internist is great to work with. She listens to me and gives me time. I have been very fortunate with Kaiser. I have had bad experiences, but in general, I'm happy with what I have now. Some years ago, I had a night of fibrillations where my heart got very irregular and wouldn't regulate itself, and I called as soon as I could in the morning, and in half an hour I was hooked up to an EKG machine, so they were really responsive and I didn't need an ambulance. I was able to myself to get in there, so that was very good. In general, when I have needed special tests or anything, I have gotten them. They were costly since I didn't have Medicare then, but the care I have had has been good. I have had some poor experiences in specialty departments and at the emergency room once. I have never had any problem with their billing and administration.

They are fantastic. I was up the next day. I was out of the hospital in four days. I feel great. They get the highest rating in the state of California and they are the cheapest. They are a full medical care service. I would continue to use them in the future.

They are friendly and do a lot. Quality of treatment depends on the medical doctor; I don't feel they properly checked my hand and I think they gave me a wrong diagnosis. They were treating my hand and part of the issue was in the fingers. There was some confusion with the phoned in prescription for pain medication. Then they gave me a referral to an orthopedic doctor who did not know what he was doing and did not fix my problems. They did not set my fracture in a cast and it did not heal correctly. I will not use them again in the future.

They were excellent.  My insurance covers for it.  They are clean and modern.  Their technology is quick and fast and professional.  When you get in there, you’re in there for the longest which is for four hours.  If you have to be hospitalized, they’ll send you right upstairs after all your tests like they did on me.  It was an experience and they won’t forget me for sure.  They are close by.  They are right up the hill for me.  So its a few blocks up the hill.  I just take the bus there.  I still go there and I go to the eleventh floor.  I would absolutely use their services again in the future.
