It went really well! They came right out to give a quote, then were able to start the job the next week. Ramon was the lead guy doing the work, he did an excellent job and the craftsmanship of the stairs and gate are beautiful and amazing quality. Communication was excellent and the quote was exactly what we paid. Again, we are super impressed with the high quality of work, and affordable price. Would highly recommend them :)

Whenever I hire a professional to work on my house, I'm filled with trepidation. We've all heard the horror stories about jobs that, after they're started, are extended so much that they go weeks or even months past the agreed-upon deadline; about workers who are disrespectful; about corners being cut; about shoddy workmanship; and about owners not understanding the vision the customer has in mind, and/or the end product not resembling that vision. Sacred Space Gardens allayed all those fears, and proved to be one of the best companies we've ever worked with. Chris - who is always on time - met with us a few times to hear about our ideas and commit them to paper. He suggested a flagstone patio, a surrounding stone seating wall, a wooden pergola-like frame to replace the one being torn down, a flagstone reading area, artificial turf for our dog, multiple varieties of plants, a number of pathways, a drip/sprinkler system, and a nighttime lighting system. We took virtually all of his suggestions and hired him without even talking to anyone else. The two workers from Sacred Space Gardens (Lobsang [the construction manager] and Mr. Salvador), fixtures in our yard for many weeks, were a dream. I sort of miss them. They were friendly and professional, got along with each other famously, were always on time, worked incredibly hard, and cut no corners. Everything they did was artistic and rock-solid. We've rarely seen such knowledgeable attention to detail. They were also, by the way, very strong. Because there is no long, straight way to transport things from the garage into the backyard, they had to hand-carry everything, including dozens and dozens of heavy cement bags, one at a time through our downstairs hallway and laundry room. The schedule did run a couple of weeks long, but it was in no way anyone's fault. We had some unforeseen problems, including rain delays, and our soil turned out to be so riddled with rock that Lobsang and Mr. Salvador had to drill away at the rock for days in order to prepare the soil for planting. In the end, our yard turned out to be much more beautiful than we ever imagined. The patios, the stonework, the plants, and even our dog's area are stunning. We feel like we're in Paradise out there. Now I need to go stare at the yard for an hour, because that's what I continue to do on a regular basis.

    Tim Jackson
A 4 year old repair to our porch was not properly done. The slope on a platform was wrong and water was pooling. The paint was degrading everywhere. Tim and his team came in and did a fantastic job on schedule. He's the first Handyman that I've engaged that has the professionalism of a high-end builder!

It was great! Mike and his team were able to get the work done in a short turn around, deal with San Francisco DBI and we were able to get the certificate of final completion (CFC) with no more delays. The work on my property was high quality and well done! I have some larger projects that I plan to undertake now that this is completed and Mike will be doing those for me in the near future.

    Jack Thompson
This was by far the BEST contractor experience. Jack was extremely professional in all aspects of the build. He came up with creative solutions to challenges, he was responsive to my concerns, he stayed on budget and completed the job on time. how often does that happen with a contractor? Everyone who sees the unit raves about it. I would definitely use Jack again. He displayed the highest level of honesty and integrity and I would highly recommend his services to others.

    Jack Thompson
I could not have asked for better service from Jack. He was clear and thorough in his communications, he was both reasonable and accurate in his estimates (time and money, both) and he answered my questions immediately. Moreover, as someone who doesn't know much about contracting and building, he was patient and offered just the right amount of detail.

Jack was generous with his time and extremely transparent with the minor issues that came up. Nothing that came up was particularly unexpected,as he had gone reviewed all the possibilities of difficulties such as more dry rot than expected, the possibility of termites, not passing permitting, etc. We were lucky that most of the things he warned us of were non-issues, but I appreciated his honest approach and detailed discussion of the various ways the project could go.

It is also important to note Jack was extremely considerate. He made careful provisions for all the pets, he gave ample notice when he'd be around and when he would need indoor access, and he was always kind and ready to fill me in on details. He was an honest, kind, and pleasant presence to have around for a few weeks; now I have a sturdy, pretty, and legal deck as a souvenir of his stay.

I can not recommend Jack highly enough. In fact, I need to contact him myself about another project that has come up. I wouldn't dream of asking someone else first.

They subbed out the stucco work to a guy who thought he was going to paint and then they sort of mixed the materials of the deck and I didn’t find that out until it was done. They also worked on the fence and they did a great job on that. They are pros for the fence work but not so much for the stucco or deck work.

Jordan and his team do great work.  I had to be persistent in getting his estimate as I think he was really busy.  He also doesn't do a written estimate like the other two Angie's List recommended companies.   However, he stuck to his verbal/handshake pricing regardless of whatever problems he may have encountered.  We had some communication problems when we had to be out-of-town on a weekend in which his team was on-site working.  Because our property is on a hill, I had wanted the fencing tiered so that the redwood horizontal fencing would be level with the patio.  When we arrived home on Monday, we found that he hadn't done that on the critical rear portion of the fence.  When I said that we didn't like the downward slant of the fence, he agreed to redo it.  This added an extra day to the job - but he wanted to make sure we were happy with how the fence looked.   When he and his team completed the deck, I asked about putting a wood lattice around the bottom of the deck to keep animals out.  He said he would take care of it.  When I mentioned that the last step down on the deck was twice the length of the previous 3 steps, he came back and added another step to match the other three.   We had previously hired someone to do a deck and fence design, so we had some original drawings that we were able to show him.  This helped immensely.   If you're doing anything complicated, be sure to have your ideas well-thought out so you can be certain of getting what you need.   I would hire Jordan and his crew again.  His pricing was quite a bit less than the other two Angie's List Fencing companies for the exact same project and he takes pride in his work.

    Evolve Construction
I cannot say enough good things about the remodeling experience with Evolve Construction. We completely remodeled our home in less than four months, including two and a half bathrooms, a total new kitchen, new windows, added wood floors in three bedrooms and built a room addition at the back that extended the house and gave us a larger kitchen space and an additional bathroom that was very needed. The project was on time, the team came up with creative solutions to design issues that helped us stay in budget, and paid attention to details. Above all else, the quality of the work is stunning. Evolve Construction wasn't the cheapest bid we received, neither the highest, we ended up choosing right because with Evolve Construction we saved tons by avoiding costly errors, staying on time (and rent in our temporary space), and the result was more than worth the money.  We have a beautiful new home.  I highly recommend the Evolve team.

    Evolve Construction
We have recently purchased a house built in 1955.  It's a lovely house and in a very good condition, but old homes don't often meet today's standards and we wanted a more updated looks.

Evolve Construction did an amazing job. From the initial engineering and planning the Evolve team always showed efficiency and professionalism and were very responsive to our needs and showed a lot of patience with us when we had some changes that we decide on during the work. They also care about energy efficiency and it shows. Easy to work with, very helpful and good customer service. Had I known Evolve Construction earlier, I would have used them before. Highly recommended. Our newly renovated house is looking amazing and it really feels like home. Thank you so much!
