  • What stuck out to me the most was when I walked in one day, asking if they could replace a button that came off my coat. She replaced it, free of charge, in one minute. The staff here is always nice and professional, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

  • I dropped off a pair of women's boots to be stretched (the leggings) on 8/27/2012.  A staff member measured the boots while I was wearing them; it was clear as to what service they were to perform.  I was told that the boots would be ready for pickup on that Friday, the 31st.  When I arrived back at their storefront on Tuesday, September 4th, I was told that the boots were ready.  I tried them on and found that no work had been completed on either boot.  The staff told me that they would complete the work  by the end of  the week.  I returned on 9/11/2012, Monday, and was told that the repair person had broken the zipper on the left boot.  The staff told me that maybe they could replace the zipper, but that my best bet would be to contact the store I had purchased the boots from or  the boot manufacturer.
These boots were a pair of Provider name locked. boots that had never been worn.  I was flabbergasted at Provider name locked. service response; I had to insist that they return the original $29.75 that they had charged for stretching the boots; work that they had never really performed.  They seemed to indicate that if I elected to have them repair the zipper, I would be charged.  I took the boots electing not to have any more work attempted by Provider name locked. .
Fortunately, I was able to return the boots to Provider name locked. and get another pair.  Otherwise, the owner would have definitely been faced with appearing in small claims court as I would have sued to recover the cost of the boots.
Provider name locked. used to be a reputable shoe repair store; now, I recommend people definitely look elsewhere for shoe repair services.  They exhibited no professionalism whatsoever, and took no responsibility for their actions.   I'm tempted to contact other consumer affair organizations regarding this whole incident.

  • Unreliable and untrustworthy, see my below account of our odyssey with Alabaster.

6/13    Alabaster driver picks up 2 big bags of laundry at our home.

6/15    Alabaster driver returns about half of the laundry. We pay $25. I claim that about half is lost to him. He swears    that this is all he ever got. I tell him we will wait until the laundry has gone through our own next washing cycle    so we know for a fact if something has gotten lost.

6/25    Laundry goes through our own wash cycle and we do indeed find many items are missing.

6/27    I email Alabaster claiming lost laundry including a detailed list and asking for reimbursement.

6/30    Alabster's manager emails me, apologizing for the inconvenience and announcing that they would conduct an internal    investigation, for which they would need 1 to 2 days.

7/5    No email from Alabaster has arrived regarding the results of their investigation.    I send them a follow-up email

7/7    Alabaster's manager sends me an email in which they agree to reimburse us for $250 for lost laundry

7/8    I accept the offer of a $250 reimbursement check by email.

7/15    No check has arrived, I send an email to follow up.

7/22    No reply to my 7/15 email.

I call the manager who suddenly reneges on the agreed-upon reimbursement with a slew of excuses (your email accepting    the reimbursement was unclear whether you accepted the $250 offer, we never got the second bag of laundry, we can    only give you a credit against future business [like we would give them more business before they made good on     the damage they caused], you have to produce receipts for all the lost laundry...)

I send Alabster an email, setting a 48 hour deadline to deliver the reimbursement check to us.

    7/24    No check has arrived.
