Why doesn't my new car have a spare tire?

You may be driving around without a spare tire and not even know it. In an effort to increase fuel efficiency, many manufacturers are eliminating the spare tire.

San Francisco Tire Shops Reviews

A
"I would rate them very well. I have used them for several years. They shop around for getting parts at the lowest cost instead of just buying them from the dealer. They let you know quickly what issues they see with the car. They are pretty efficient with the repair."
A
"It was a very pleasant experience overall. The shop was clean, spacious and comfortable. The owner and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I was in and out within an hour and probably only had to wait less than 5-10 min. before my SUV was up in the air being repaired. When I had called prior to dropping in, they quoted me $20 per tire to install/balance four new tires that I bought somewhere else. There was an extra disposal fee of $2 per old tire that every other shop would charge anyway, but I had been quoted as high as $3-4 per old tire at other shops and up to $30 per tire to install. They were very professional and didn't mind my little boy watching them work either. Bathrooms were clean and their selection of tires/wheels seemed well stocked and ready to go for any vehicle. I would highly recommend this auto shop."
A
"They help me to select a tire that meets my needs, order it for me, and then install them. Everything went quickly and smoothly. I am happy with the price and the tires. They are honest and reliable"
B
"Came in at 11am and selected the tires which had to be ordered from elsewhere. Came back by 12pm and had the work finished later in 1 hour. Overall, very fast service. Only had Good Year tires in stock, other brands needed to be ordered. However, I think another company had better deals, but the wait time turned me off."

prices are good when you factor in the fact that they include mounting and lifetime road hazard warranty on them. You can take it in for free rotation and balancing as well. Just go early before they open so that you don't have to wait for many hours."
B
"You can get service at any location which is always handy. As with other product categories,

has added gas and auto tires and offers a compelling alternative to purchase those there and not bother with the unpredictable service at independent retailers."

"I had bought my tires from a place that provides free repairs, but they are in Redwood City.

was more convenient and did a great job. They were timely and they didn't try to sell me a tire that I didn't need. They fixed the old one."
A
"Owner did not recommend 'extras' and unnecessary work. I came in thinking I would need a tune up and he said wait to inspect and then he'll suggest it if necessary. Turns out the car did not need it and so he was honest about its condition, etc."
A
"The overall service is excellent. The service personnel took time to explain the service they were doing and answered some detailed questions regarding the process required to put new tires on my vehicle."
B
"I showed up for my scheduled appointment & they installed some 20 inch rims on 305 tires. The job took 4 hours. When I returned, my truck was ready. I was very pleased with the way it looked & with their service."
