Anderson Design Kitchen & Bathroom Remodel
Cant say enough about the quality and excellence of Anderson Design! Our project consisted of updating 25 year old kitchen, enclosing our patio overhang into a California room and laminate wood plank flooring. After interviewing a number of contractors that walked in wanting wallet open and wanting $10,000 up front to discuss our ideas. Anderson walked in with vision, suggestions, ideas and many satisfied clients. We were listened to and offered advice. Even after adjusting our scope, the Anderson team came in to get the job done with 110% effort. We now have a professional kitchen (new countertops, appliances, glass tile backsplash) that looks out into the most GORGEOUS California room (walls, windows, 10 ft slider and laminate flooring). All of this was done for at least one third of the price quoted by other contractors! We would definitely use Anderson for any additional work around our home. Highly recommend! Happy clients are the best confirmation of the quality of service!

    Halpert Construction
Mark and his team at Halpert Construction have completed numerous whole house remodels for my company and I couldn't feel more fortunate that we starting working with him about a year ago. His craftsmanship is excellent, his prices are very competitive and most importantly, he is honest and very responsive. I plan to continue working with Mark for many more years.

    US Window & Door
US Window & Door replaced every window in our house, and a large sliding porch door too. Their pricing was competitive on the Milgard windows we had installed, and had a wonderful idea to install small awning windows in a 2nd floor hallway that have given us improve air circulation throughout the house. Something we never even thought to do. They are very thorough when taking measurements and were good about discussing the best utilization of each window to ensure we got what we wanted in the end. The installers were extremely professional from start to finish, and we feel happy about our choice with both install company and the Miguard windows. I'd say we would happily hire them again, but all the windows are new and look great, so there's nothing left to do... but enjoy them now!

    Approved Contractor Inc.
Very happy that we went with Approved Contractor for our first major home project. We got quotes from several other companies and none were nearly as helpful or professional. Our windows were installed quickly and they look fantastic. Our one issue was that wood frame edges around the windows weren't fully sanded down for painting after installation. Despite this, we plan on using Approved Contractor for future projects. Thanks!

    San Diego Sash Company
Had called the company over 5 times to get someone to come out and give me an estimate. I was told they would get back to me right away but never heard back the last several times I called Don't know about the quality of work but there follow through and responsiveness is unacceptable.

This extensive renovation began with various "baseline" objectives prioritizing structural integrity for my hillside home (strapping down all the posts and beams, reframing the roof, adding structural reinforcement where necessary and where required by current code, etc.). In time, the scope also included expansion of floor space. Throughout the entire process, Jon Hammer of San Diego Master Craftsmen was candid, transparent and willing to work closely with me on meeting my objectives. In short, I would describe him as someone many of us look for in a General Contractor: honest, responsible, creative and timely. More than anything, he listens to his clients, and tries to meet their expectations wherever he can. I am very satisfied, both with his responsiveness, and the quality of the work undertaken. The benefit of working with a design/builder like Jon Hammer is that he can look at a project and give you a good sense, ex ante, of what's involved, so you have a more accurate assessment of cost up front. Jon works closely with a seasoned team of sub-contractors and tradesmen. In my case, many of them were consulted in the design phase. In particular, we spoke at length with the engineers (I used structural, geotechnical and soil engineering services) to ensure the structural integrity of the renovation, and that it would meet all current codes. Jon talked me through these discussions in a very patient and comprehensive manner. I also worked with Jon's interior designer at this stage so that we could get a feel for end design requirements. During construction, Jon was very responsive and communicative. Our principal form of communication was by email, as I was living abroad at the time. But during my visits, Jon made himself freely available to meet with me, repeatedly and sometimes at the spur of the moment. I was always given a chance to provide feedback, every step of the way. Jon's sub-contractors did a superb job on the framing, masonry, plumbing and tile work. One important thing to keep in mind is that Jon directly assumes any responsibility arising from the work of the sub-contractors, occasionally at his own expense. The budget was a bit higher than initially forecast, due mainly to numerous enhancements identified during the course of construction (some of which were focused on meeting higher engineering standards). To Jon's credit, he provided me with full explanations of each change order, every step of the way. And he offered alternatives, which I appreciated. Overall, I have been very happy with the end results and would re-hire Jon for future work. Indeed, after this job, I hired Jon again to renovate my outside decks.

    Sequoia Roofing Inc
I spoke to Mike with Sequoia Roofing and asked for a quote to replace my tar and rock roof with something that the solar companies could work with. He recommended a product that came with a 20 yr warranty and reflected 80% of the suns heat. Furthermore Mike worked with my solar company (SolarTech) to install the solar panel supports in the right locations on the roof. His crew was efficient, knowledgeable and did their best to minimize additional costs when problems arose.. Ive recommended Sequoia Roofing to my mom in Fallbrook and my dad in San Clemente.

    Dreamstyle Remodeling of San Diego
Several years ago, we thought about replacement windows and researched all the leading names (i.e., Andersen, Marvin, Pella, etc.) and sat through lengthy in-home presentations by two, Andersen and Marvin. Interestingly, the prices given (i.e., retail, 30 day, and today only prices were practically identical). However, we put the project on hold when we contemplated downsizing instead. Ultimately, we decided to stay put and invest in some remodeling projects. The first project we decided to tackle was replacing the windows. After reading some online reviews we decided to go with Andersen over Marvin. As luck would have it, we received a promotion flyer with some attractive incentives so I called for another consultation. Dana Doerr, Design Consultant, was on time for her appointment to give us a new estimate. Up front, I asked for an abbreviate presentation as we had seen the movie twice before; thankfully, she respected that request. She was very knowledgeable not only about her product but useful details on home construction. I was impressed that she did a thorough exterior inspection in addition to the detailed inspection and measuring of the interior. At conclusion, she advised that Billy Rebelez, Project Manager, would be doing a second reaffirmation measurement before the order is placed and that the 2-3-day installation process could be expected in 4-5 weeks once placed. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call a week later to schedule the installation in 3 weeks, the day after Christmas. The installation team (Rod, Alberto aka Bobby, Reese, Josh & Isaiah) arrived exactly at 8:15am and had all 15 windows installed on the first day. The second day was reserved for additional caulking, sealing, and additional detail work. I was impressed not only how efficient they were as a team but how courteous and professional they were. Not only did they wear protective booties when working inside, but placed runners in the high traffic areas and covered furniture and other areas in plastic. Afterwards, they vacuumed all the work areas and moved all the furniture back. There was one problem; due to the depth of the frame and casing, window treatments in a couple of the windows could not be reinstalled. They called Billy Rebelez, who came on site the second day, and gave guidance on how to address the problem in a few minutes. Because we have a second story some work had to be done outside which resulted in some ceramic tiles being damaged. Billy saw to it that new tiles were matched and purchased, and installed by Isaiah a couple of days later. Installation was completed in 2 days, rather than the expected 3. I give high kudos to Billy and the entire installation team for doing a great job and taking care of minor issues quickly. It should be noted I received several unsolicited positive comments: one from my neighbor who saw the team working and one from the Project Manager on our remodel project when inspecting the exterior sealing. A week after installation Dana Doerr called for satisfaction follow-up. She came out the next day to do some pictures and do a quick inspection. She noticed that one of the locking mechanisms was a little tight and in need of an adjustment. The following day I received a call from Kate who scheduled Chris Carlson to come out; Chris came out the next day and made the necessary adjustment and lubrication in 10 minutes. In sum, we are very satisfied customers, based not only with the quality of the product but with our experience with the individuals noted. They provided a truly customer-focused experience.

    Adail Bastos Roofing
Adail Bastos' team is really professional and responsible at their work. They know what they do well. I could not be happier with the new roof for my 2000-sqft home and the service I received from them was far better than other roofing services I have used. I definitely recommend Adail Bastos for roofing.

    Remodel Works Bath & Kitchen
Fantastic job by Eric Fasset, Design Consultant and Jeff Aldridge, Project Manager. We had sourced several contractors over the years but never found the right concept for our remodel. A neighbor recommended Remodel Works. After one meeting at the house, Eric Fasset came up with a unique design for our master and master bath. Once we agreed on the concepts, the details came together very quickly. Jeff Aldridge and team brought the entire project to fruition, both on time and within budget. My husband and I are very pleased with the outcome and the professionalism throughout the process.
