  • Doing lessons over skype really is a huge bonus because my work schedule changes every week and it keeps our lesson times very flexible. I had already been playing for about 15 years when we started up again, so our lessons are more intermediate-advanced. We generally focus on jazz standards and will spend a few lessons on each tune, covering comping, walking bass lines, soloing, chord melodies etc, but every once in a while, we will veer off and play around with some shred tunes to cover some different technique. Overall, the scheduling flexibility and Jeff's experience with a variety of different styles is what suits me. Would recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning guitar, or improving their range from the comfort of their own home.

  • He tries to work with the student's interests and what the student wants to accomplish. He tries to individualize the lesson to the student. He's very good at picking out details. He helps you learn how to practice. He is a bit of a perfectionist. He makes it very clear that he's not good at being punctual.

  • I am very fortunate to have met Donna, who is giving my daughter piano lessons.
She has learning difficulties and was adopted from Russia, so it is no easy task. It is extremely difficult to get her to stick to anything, but she is loving this.
Donna is so patient and understanding, and works relentlessly with her.
She has a very kind nature, but is also firm enough to keep her on track. Very educated lady, Jilliard graduate (sp?).
If she can work with my daughter , she can work with anyone.

  • I met Richard in North Park off hand and he gave me his card.  I called and arranged a lesson with him.  His rates are 45 for an hour and 35 for 45 min.  He teaches at his home on a grand piano.  When I got there he was dressed in a collared dress shirt and slacks.  I told him I wanted to increase my sight reading ability (Currently at 0.)  There was no pressure to play a style or genre, (I prefer classical at this point.)  He is not a piano hog, he only plays briefly to sample a piece and conveys measures using a higher octave so that you can follow along.

If I needed to borrow a book, he let me, he'll burn copies if need be, and the professionalism given that he teaches from his home is well received. He has a cabinet full of any type of music you could think of.  I get the feeling jazz might be his baby but he tailors the lesson to your needs.  Good guy, not a push over, not a jerk, well balanced teacher.

  • BOTH DRUM TEACHERS WERE PLEASANT, AND PROFESSIONAL (THE FIRST ONE BECAME ILL WITH CANCER ,AND HAD TO QUIT, BUT THEY FOUND A REPLACEMENT RIGHT AWAY). VIOLIN RENTAL WAS FINE, I DID FIND A BETTER INSTRUMENT AT A LOWER COST AT ANOTHER STORE FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR. RECENTLY THEY TRANSFERRED A MUSIC BOOK FROM THE OTHER STORE, AND HELD IT FOR ME. I APPRECIATED THE FAST SERVICE.

  • EXCELLENT PIANO TEACHER WHO GIVES LESSONS AT HER HOME IN SCRIPPS RANCH. VERY BUSY TEACHING SCHEDULE! I HAVE TWO YOUNG DAUGHTERS WHO TAKE REGULAR INSTRUCTION WITH MS. CROOKS. SHE IS KIND AND PATIENT AND MY GIRLS ARE LEARNING A LOT FROM HER.

  • MRS. OLSON IS VERY COMPETENT AND VERY PATIENT WITH MY DAUGHTER. SHE MOTIVATES HER STUDENTS AND PROMOTES THEIR EFFORTS BY ASSIGNING NEW MUSIC IN A TIMELY MANNER. MY DAUGHTER IS NEVER BORED WITH HER MUSIC. ONCE YOU CAN PLAY A PIECE ACCURATELY, YOU MOVE ON TO NEW MUSIC. SHE LOVES MUSIC AND ENCOURAGES MY DAUGHTER TO PLAY A VARIETY OF MUSIC STYLES. SHE HAS A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR AND NEVER YELLS AT THE STUDENTS.

  • MR. KALAL WAS GENEROUS WITH HIS TIME. HE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT HIS AREA OF EXPERTISE. HE WAS ABLE TO WORK WITH MY SON AND HELP HIM ACHIEVE A CORRECT MOUTH POSITION SO HE COULD PROJECT THE SOUND NEEDED FOR THE MARCHING MUSIC. HE HAS A GOOD WORK ETHIC AND SUCCESSFULLY MOTIVATED MY SON TO PRACTICE AND DESIRE TO BE BETTER.

  • OUR 3 CHILDREN ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH MRS. PALLAIS' PIANO INSTRUCTION. SHE IS GENTLE AND ENCOURAGING. MRS. PALLAIS HAS YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. THE ONCE-MONTHLY THEORY CLASS OFFERS OUR CHILDREN AN OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM IN A NON-THREATENING LESS INTIMIDATING SETTING.

  • MR. BENNY IGNACIO HOUSE-CALL PIANO INSTRUCTION IS A GOD-SEND. BENNY IS KIND AND ENCOURAGING. THE CHILDREN ENJOYED THE SONGS AND INSTRUCTION BOOKS. BENNY TEACHES A MORE INFORMAL JAZZ STYLE (AS OPPOSED TO CLASSICAL). BENNY WAS OPEN TO TEACHING SONGS OR TYPES OF SONGS WE REQUESTED (I.E. CHRISTIAN PRAISE SONGS). UNFORTUNATELY, BENNY WASN'T ALWAYS RELIABLE OR PUNCTUAL ARRIVING FOR LESSONS.
