  • This was not an insurance claim, but our insurance company recommended three firms to get quotes from. Two of the firms (frequent advertisers on television) would not honor their online estimate when they were contacted on the phone (why offer this "service?"), added costs for required services (e.g., windshield disposal, mobile service), wanted to know what other quotes I received before revising their estimate (estimation is their job, not mine), and/or insisted on knowing the specific insurance agent that recommended them (referral fee?). Bottom line, I did not feel comfortable doing business with either firm. Citywide Auto Glass was a completely different experience: they honored their online quote and provided written confirmation; when contacted on the phone, they provided the same quote (to the penny); they did not try to sell/add additional products or services; scheduling was easy and very convenient; they arrived on-time, were professional, courteous and friendly; and completed on-time, all for the exact price quote. Citywide Auto Glass was about $10 more than the low bid I got, about $80 less than the high bid, and worth every penny.

  • Great! I got an appointment quickly, they were right on time. They were efficient, neat and the windshield is perfect. I didn't think to review this as soon as it was done but now I have the ability to tell you that I have had no problem at all with the new windshield for over a year.

  • Safelite is not equipped to handle repairs on older cars. My 1997 Volvo was beyond their technical expertise and replacement parts acquisition. They tried, but could not get correct parts, so all that happened was a waste of their time and mine.

  • Ron explained the crack repair on the phone - was able to fit me in the same day. I asked about the head light restoration and went ahead with it too. The crack repair went fine. It is still noticeable ( but very small) and just as explained. The headlight restoration was perfect and they look like new. Very happy with the repair/ the customer service/ and getting good value for the money. I will try them out with a complete detail for my other car -- happy to have found them through Angie's list!!

  • After I got home and pulled myself together, I called my insurance company: State Farm. They sent a young man to my house the next day who removed the damaged windshield and replaced it with a new one. He was very efficient (took about 2 hrs). He took the old one away and I paid him my $100 deductible. I was pleased with the house call, as I did not have to drive again with the broken windshield. I was pleased with the efficiency and quality of the work and the helpfulness of the worker, who explained details to me.

  • I requested a quote and submit my appointment request online for mobile service and received a phone call to set up an appointment within a few hours. Easy, efficient, reasonable price. I was told that I could call anytime after 8 :30 to request an ETA of the driver at my home.  I was offered the wiper blade promotion they were doing, which would be installed for free. My quote was $217 to include the wiper blades.
    My appointment was scheduled for a morning 8-12 morning slot and the driver was to call when he/she was en route. I called at 8:40 am to request an ETA  and Shenedra? ( not right, but as close as I can remember) said that she would contact the driver and he would contact me with an ETC. I did not hear from anyone all morning. When I called at 11:45 am to inquire about the ETA of the drive, the woman on the receiving end of the call ( whom I cannot remember her name) was apologetic and asked me to hold so she could look for my paperwork. When she returned to the phone, she said that my appointment time had been entered as an afternoon appointment. I said that wasn't going to work since I had already waited for 4 hours. She said can we reschedule? I said no, because I have other car appointments that were based on this appointment. She said that they can have someone come between 1 and 5 or something. I declined. We won't charge you for the wiper blades.  Ok, but please tell me the soonest someone can be at my house. She put me on hold and returned to say that someone would be at my house at 2. I said, okay no later than 2.
    Ok.
    Martin called my home to tell me he would be arriving in 15 minutes, arriving at 1:50 pm. He reviewed the process with me and looked at my car, had me sign the invoice. The invoice showed a discount for the blades, but they weren't free. I asked about it, he said he would have to call. I said that was fine. He was fast, clean and quiet when he replaced the windshield. He was also very professional when he handled the next situation. He called the office to clarify the free wiper blades, and he was talking with Shenedra (?), no disrespect, I just cannot remember her name. She was talking with Martin on the phone, essentially saying that they didn't say that. With that said, I decided against the blades. We settled on the origial $199 and he reviewed the warranty, reminded me of the care within the next 24 hours and he was on his way.
    So, why I am ranting and raving about this.
    3 reasons:
    1. Mistake in booking on their end, inconveniencing me, the customer
    2. Poor business practice, saying you are going to compensate someone due to the company's  error, and then deny that it was offered.
    3. Calling me a liar, after I have waited all day for my windshield

  • I was really impressed with the efficient, professional job that Quality ARG did in replacing the front windshield of my wife's '09 Prius.  I'm kind of particular when it comes to researching any type of services, whether home, auto, or other  - so it took some time to boil my pick down to this company in San Marcos.  Since my insurance deductible was too high to cover my cracked window's replacement cost, and since I didn't find much highly positive feedback on the company that my insurance company normally utilizes for glass, I ended up choosing Quality ARG for the job.  I found them to be rated well on most review sites and found that they are one of only four companies in San Diego County whose business and technicians are certified by the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC)  - and one of only two located in the northern part of the county near me.  I also found through calls to other repair facilities that they are chosen to do all of the window replacements for the Toyota Escondido Collision Center.  Upon calling them, I was able to get answers to all of my specific questions about the type of replacement glass used, special acoustic quality used in my car's glass, adhesives used, trim/mirror removal and replacement, dry time, and their workmanship warranty.  After all of this, I felt comfortable scheduling the work with them  - they were up-front and told me that they were short-handed that week with some technicians being out, so I scheduled for the following Tuesday.  Though this company and most others in San Diego will do the work on-site as well, I personally feel that most techs (of any trade) can usually do their best work in their home shop where they have access to extra tools and materials, so I chose to have the job done at their location.  Both my vehicle drop-off and pick-up experiences went smoothly with no added charges other than what was discussed on the phone.  Both the man (believe his name was Chris) and the woman that I dealt with on the phone and in their front office were professional, efficient, and friendly.  They replaced my window with the specific Pilkington brand glass that I requested, they also vacuumed my car after the work, and they somehow transferred all of my windshield decals to the new windshield (though I hadn't specifically requested it).  I waited several extra hours to let the window adhesive set before picking up my car in the afternoon, and left the temporary tape on my window trim for an extra day or two before removing.  The replacement window looks beautiful and I have had no problems with wind noise or leaks so far although I have only had the new glass for a week now.  Overall, I was very satisfied with the job that Quality ARG did on our car, and I will likely return to them again for my next window replacement  - as I like that they are a medium-sized facility, that they have been in business for a long time and know their work well, but have not grown so large as to lose track of their technicians' workmanship and individual job quality.

  • He came out on time,  and was even a little early. He called before, to let me know he was in the area. I have nothing but praise. He did a wonderful job. There was no glass around the car at the end of the job. I felt very comfortable having the technician here. I called around for quotes. Safe-lite comes out to your house, which was an advantage. Their price was the same as other businesses. He was very pleasant and and polite. I couldn't ask for better service. I would recommend them to my friends as well.

  • Ah, the perils of driving the 52. Just as I was making my way onto the 805, the vehicle in front of me kicked up a rock which landed just below my line of sight on the driverside of my windshield and left a lovely gouge that looked like it might have a mind to spider out into longer cracks if left to its own devices. After a couple weeks of procrastinating, I called Mark late Thursday morning and he scheduled me for the following morning at my office. He arrived in good time, got to work straight away, and had everything taken care of very quickly. Before starting he did advise me that the chip might not disappear completely, but his work is guaranteed and the repair would help keep the integrity of the glass, which was my primary reason for wanting the repair (aside from aesthetics). It looks fantastic! If you look at the exterior of the glass (and you really have to know where to look) you can see two tiny nicks where the rock made impact with the surface. The view from the inside appears flawless. I'm thrilled with the result and would hire him again in a heartbeat. I will be recommending Mark's service to anyone I know who is in need of a windshield repair.
