Very annoyed that while I purchased a and quot;dealand quot; there were other requirements involved not stated and he said I needed varicose vein treated BEFORE he would treat spider veins. But he didn't take my insurance....so they referred me out to another doc instead and didn't refund my $. Boo.

My husband arrived about 10 minutes early for his 11:30 a.m. appointment. He was told he had to go downstairs to admitting before he could be seen. (This had not been required for his previous visit, his first, nor had any mention of that requirement been made at any time prior to his appearing for his appointment.) By the time he got back from the admitting office, he was 5 minutes late for his appointment. We waited for about an hour before he was called. During that time we observed that another patient who had been waiting was called, then rejected because she had not first reported to the admiitting office. When we were finally escorted into an examination room, my husband's vitals were taken by an RN and he was asked how he was doing. Then he was told to take some of his clothes off and put on a gown to await the doctor. Around 45 minutes later, the doctor came in and told us she could not see him until he had the arterial ultrasound, so he would have to get dressed and they would escort him to the proper room. After getting dressed and waiting for quite awhile with no one coming, he finally stood partly in the door and partly in the hall so at least he would be noticed. That seemed to work because he was soon taken to the correct procedure room. He made it clear that his time was also valuable and he needed to be in his office no later than 3:30 p.m. That seemed to make a little difference because he was allowed to once again undress, be gowned, have the procedure performed, redress, returned to the original examination room he had been in, and the doctor appeared to say that he seemed to be doing better but they still needed to check on him in a week. She asked if he understood what he had and accepted his acknowledgment that he did rather than checking it out to be sure he and she were talking about the same thing. We told both the technician and the doctor that he was supposed to go to the cardiology clinic for an INR if one was not done in the vascular clinic. At no time did anyone acknowledge that they could or couldn't perform an INR at the vascular clinic - they just said nothing. We were sent out to the waiting room, where we asked about making the appointment for the next week and were told we would have to sit down and wait for a resident to complete the write-up. It was now 2:00 p.m. (Note: my husband had had nothing to eat since breakfast.) I went back into the hallway to try to find someone and a nurse or aide came out and said they'd make one and call him. He pointed out that his schedule was quite full and he needed some input into the time. The doctor had specified the check-up needed to be in a week, which meant the next Monday. He was told they couldn't guarantee it would be Monday. She assured him they would call him this afternoon. He was not called. I believe the medical expertise is probably very good, but the administrative concern for and respect for the patient is completely unacceptable.
