Pet Cremating reviews in San Antonio

Last night on a Saturday, my cat Mila who was only 6 years old, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at home. I did not realize what happened until very late at night. In the past, my veterinarian handled the arrangements but I remembered the name of the service they used because they always included a thoughtful card and package of bluebonnet seeds. First thing this morning on a Sunday I called, hoping that they had an after-hours recording that would direct me what to do. Instead, a lady answered. To my surprise, she said she could meet me at their office in Converse on a Sunday morning within 30 minutes. She was kind and caring and helped me get through all this with grace. I truly believe sometimes a greater power puts an angel in our path when we need it most and today her name was Sissy. It lighted my heart to put my sweet girl in her arms and care. Thank you Bluebonnet and thank you Sissy.

Paws in Heaven was wonderful during a very difficult time. I took my Maltese, Heidi, and they were very kind and explained the entire process to me. I was given private time with her in their chapel, which I am forever grateful for.  They even went out of their way to take a paw print sample for me. The owners are very sweet and compassionate.  All of my questions were answered thoroughly and honestly. What I loved most of all is how gentle they were when they carried her.

Provider picked up our pet at our house after he had been put to sleep.

    Provider cremated Max. (family dog)

Cost of service includes pick up in San Antonio, Urn, and cremation.

Provider would have delivered pet to house if we so desired after cremation. But we chose to pick out urn at Paws in Heaven (many different choices and styles) and have Max placed in urn.

Provider has a small chapel on grounds where one can say goodbye to pet one last time before cremation.

Tom McGoldrick was very caring and helpful to our family

This is the only place to take your beloved pet for cremation. Loving, caring, kind, what more can I say, they understand the grief of losing a beloved pet and treat the deceased pet and the owner with utmost love. This is the third of my old kitties that I have had cremated there, and I am so satisfied with their service, their love, their special treatment. At such a hard time, this is a wonderful place to bring your beloved pet to their chapel, sit with them, and then go choose the special urn for your baby.

So I have to admit that reviewing while grieving may not be entirely fair, but I called this morning to arrange to drop off my recently deceased dog. I got their voice mail at 9:30 (their message indicated that business hours start at 9) didn't get a call back, and called again at 11:00. Again the voice mail. Perhaps I am being impatient, but this is something I need to get done now and for them not to call back promptly is disappointing. I am using someone else.

Update 7/5/2012: I never did get a call back.

Cio Cio San's body was picked up Feb. 15th or 16th at my veterinarian's office.  Cremation was performed at their location in Converse and the remains in an urn were delivered back to my veterinarians office ready for my pick up by February 17th.  There was a slight misunderstanding about the color of the urn selected. I left word on Saturday on their answering system of the mix-up.  Judy of  Blue Bonnet took the time over the weekend when their offices are closed to call me at home and arrange to personally come and switch the ashes for me.  We met on Monday, hugged and she made the change of urn.  My goodness!  These people at Blue Bonnet REALLY CARE and are animal lovers!  They also have a terrific webside offering the pet owner many choices and bereavement links to help with the loss of a family member.  When the time comes again, I have the comfort of knowing what I will do.

I had just moved to San Antonio with my pets and had not found a local vet. My very old dog Ponder went downhill fast and was in pain. I needed a vet even though it was Sunday afternoon. I found this emergency hospital from the voicemail message of another vet in town, and called. They said "bring him right over." As I expected, it was Ponder's end. They were very clear about the procedure, and gave me good counseling on my decision. The price was right given the emergency. They were very considerate and understanding, and let me stay for awhile with his remains, reflecting on his life as a dog. The price included the procedure, all pain medications, and cremation costs. Extremely professional. I received a follow-up card later in the mail.

The staff at Bluebonnet Pet Crematory seem nice. They say they will call 15 minutes before arriving at your home.
