  • Provider was fine, office staff was professional and friendly.  The problem with the office is in the business office.  Because I have non-standard medical insurance, I verbally confirmed the price they quoted--$0--with the office staff, twice.  I get a bill in the mail for over $800.  I reach out to the business office and explain the situation.  They admit that they failed to confirm the insurance prior to the procedure, but still want to bill me the whole amount.  They offer to knock the price down to "their cost" which is still over $600 because of my non-standard insurance.  I counter-offered.  I go to the medical office for a follow-up and they won't let me see the doctor without paying the bill.  The on-site office manager refuses to see me and sends this message out through the registration nurse.  The nurse handles it beautifully, but should never have been put in that situation.  Further complicating this is that the business office claims to have called and left a message--which I have no record of--and not having heard from me, sent the bill to collections.  I'm leaving the practice.

  • I have been going to Dr. de la Garza for several years.  As a doctor, she is great.  To actually get in to see her is horrendous.  My last annual wellness exam was scheduled at 3pm.  I got there early and they didn't call me in to see the doctor until after 5pm.  I was literally the last person in the waiting room even though many others had gotten there after me and were called in before me.  No one came out to tell me she was running late, or could I wait or need to reschedule.  I was furious by the time I actually got called in to the exam room.  Dr. de la Garza's assistant told me she goes to the base to see a doctor and she has to wait over 2 hours so it is a normal acceptable wait time and not something to be upset about.  I am a private paying patient and waiting 2 hours is not acceptable to me!  No communication to let me know what is going on is not acceptable either.  I could easily have rescheduled if I had known how late she was running.  I also called this week and left an early morning message with her nurse that I have been in menopause for almost 2 years but suddenly have bleeding and abdominal pain, and perhaps it could be due to a dosage change in my hormone replacement.  The nurse called back quickly and I explained the situation again.  She was very friendly on the phone and said the doctor may want me to come in for a sonogram. I didn't get a call back until the next day and the nurse informed me the new dosage should be ok.  I said, "What about the bleeding?"  The nurse told me if I had bleeding to call back and let them know.  I said, "I AM having bleeding.  That is why I called in yesterday!"  She forgot!! So she talked to the doctor again and they scheduled a sonogram for the next day, with an appointment afterwards to see the doctor.  I went to the sonogram 3 days after reporting the situation and afterwards went to wait on the doctor.  She was already running an hour late.  I had things to do and couldn't sit around waiting another 2 hours like last time.  It is ridiculous that no one's time except the doctor's and the staffs' seems to matter at all to them.  Too bad because I like her as a doctor but there are too many other good doctors out there to put up with the bad administration and spending all day waiting.  I will not go back.

  • I've been seeing him for about two years.  He is thorough and very patient.  The office is good and the staff is helpful.  I never had a problem with scheduling.  I would recommend him.

  • I was referred to Dr. Simpson by an acquaintance, and liked that her office was near my house. I saw Dr. Simpson for a pre-pregnancy consult and three or four prenatal visits. My wait time for each visit ranged from two to three hours. I understand that sometimes this can happen with an OB, as they are needed for deliveries; however, for one visit I had already waited two hours before she was called for a delivery, and was asked to wait another one to two hours or reschedule. The front office did not feel the need to give patients courtesy calls warning of long wait times. Another woman in the waiting room asked how her daughter was, as she had been waiting for her to come out from the back for four hours and had not heard anything.
    Determined to shorten my wait time, for my last visit with Dr. Simpson I requested to be her first appointment. I got to the office at 7:15 am (they called the day before to change my appointment time from 7:00). Dr. Simpson did not even arrive to the office until 8:00. The medical assistant took me back into the exam room without telling me she was not there at the office. In the exam room, I noticed a screen up with all Dr. Simpson?s appointments for the day. I could see their names, phone numbers, etc. which I know is a huge breach of HIPPA. When Dr. Simpson finally came into the room, my husband and I addressed our issues with her. She had failed to run 1st trimester blood tests on me (something I knew from simply reading pregnancy books) and of course, the wait time. She said that she was late that day because she had an exercise class that morning. Furthermore, she blamed long wait time on being busy with a divorce from her husband and the office being busy because one of her partners was being sued.  What if this was the partner that would end up delivering my baby?
    Clearly this last visit convinced my husband and I to switch to another OB. I have never received such poor patient care in my life. Dr. Simpson obviously has too much going on in her personal life to make her patients a priority.

  • My appointment with him was horrible. I went in May and i had a follow up done. I told him I had a flow pain. He did an ultra sound without even telling me. I thought he was  going to check me and then tell me what he was going to do. He did not explain the procedure not until i was hurting. He simply told me to lie down and he did not tell me he was going to do an ultra sound. He was checking my breasts with my bra off. I was so embarrassed that I should have walked out but I did not want to embarrass him. The only reason I went with him was because he was close to the workplace and he had good ratings. Later on I found other ladies had rated him "Fs". He is older and close to retirement. It was over 800$ for that procedure but he did not tell me. I will be seeing another gynecologist. The staff said they would call me but they didn't. They did apologize however.

  • Upon arrival, the staff said to sign in. As I was doing so, the receptionist got on the phone and was on it for a while, while I was standing there not sure what to do. Other receptionists paid no attention. After she got off the phone, she gave me papers to fill in. After I turned in the papers, I didn't have to wait too long for a medical assistant to call me in. The medical assistant Violet was very nice and she was the best part of my whole experience there - she was kind, listened, and asked questions gently. After the checkin with her, she took me to the exam room and gave directions of what to do, which I appreciated. Then, undressed, I had to wait for the doctor at least 15-20 minutes - I didn't have a watch on me, but it was a loooong wait inside a stuffy room. When Dr. Arya arrived, she was nice and professional and did the procedures quickly. She suggested there may have been some bacterial infection, but I'm not sure she really checked for that. Right away she suggested antibiotics and when I asked for other options, she didn't give me any and just said antibiotics should work. I was surprised a DO would be so quick to prescribe antibiotics without really looking into a problem, just guessing... I assumed she put in the prescription for the antibiotics, but I never got the prescription either. The doctor was done quickly, in about 5 minutes and left.
    I didn't know where to go afterwards and walked out to the reception area. One of the staff girls asked about something the doctor ordered for me and I didn't know what it was and she seemed flabbergasted and didn't know what to do. She went off and I was sitting in the waiting room for at least 10 minutes with noone attending to me. Meanwhile, office supervisor came out and started some argument with the receptionists there - of who needs to go to lunch at what time and why one of them wasn't going. It was loud, distracting, and I thought it was very unprofessional to do it in an open office with patients waiting and easily hearing the arguments. The atmosphere was tense. When the supervisor walked away, I got up and asked when they are going to check me out, then got directed back through the door. The person to check me out asked me what doctor I visited and when I told, she went looking for my order. Upon getting it from the doctor she gave me the information about the options for the mammogram, though all options were within the same baptist medical system, no other options. Once she was done with me, I had to wait in the waiting room again while they searched for something for a lab test I needed. About 10 min later a lab representative came out to the waiting room explaining they didn't have the test card and offering to walk over to the hospital to get it if I wait another 15 minutes. I didn't want to wait there any more time than I had already spent and offered to walk to the hospital lab to get it myself. Then the lab technician explained to me where to go and what I'd need to do for the test. I felt uncomfortable having her explaining the test to me in the waiting room with other people around.... The trip to the hospital and the lab to pick up a simple card took another 30 minutes...
    In short, it was an unpleasant experience in an environment that felt far from professional. The doctor was nice but I don't trust she did her job fully. I would not recommend the clinic and the doctor.
    An update: I took the prescribed antibiotics but they didn't do anything. The doctor never checked what the real issue was anyway so the pills were useless.

  • We really like my wife's Doctor. The doctor is Dr. Tiffany Sadderfield. She has helped us get two beautiful babies. My wife has sent like 20 people her way. She is very friendly, very professional, she is always available when we need her, and she tells us how it is. She is in general very helpful, and she is a great doctor.

  • I have been seeing Dr. Lovell for about 8 years. At 17 he finally diagnosed what 2 other OBGYN's could not (I had Poly Cystic Ovaries). He takes time to thoroughly explain what he is doing and will sit an answer as many questions as you have. Because he takes his time, and also since he is the only OB in his office, his punctuality can be very questionable. But babies don't decide when they come, so it really isn't his fault! He delivered my first born in October. He was great throughout the whole pregnancy. Being that it was my first I naturally had a lot of questions. I could always call between appointments if I had any questions. His nurses are THE BEST! I absolutely love Heather and Kathryn. They are so sweet and I cried at my last appointment knowing I wasn't going to see them every week. They never made me feel dumb about my silly first time mommy questions. Lee always answered my insurance questions quickly and was always fighting to get covered what should be. I never have had an issue being over-billed or feeling uncomfortable or unsure of my care. All I hope is that he stays practicing long enough to deliver the rest of my babies!

  • I have been going to Dr. Harle for over 5 years now, and he/Seven Oaks cared for me during my first pregnancy and delivery in 2013. The practice is very organized, responsive (Dr. Harle's call always calls me back promptly!), and I have never had a bad experience there. Everyone in the office is wonderful - the nurses, the physicians, the sonographers, the ladies at the front desk -you name it. Because the physicians rotate call at the hospital, I had the opportunity to meet two of the other doctors during my stay at the hospital, and they were fabulous. Availability: even though it could take a few weeks to get an appointment with your physician, there is usually a nurse practitioner (they are both VERY good) who can see patients sooner. Punctuality: as one might expect, they are OB's, so there may be occasions where they are not exactly on time to an appointment, but they work SO hard to respect their patient's time and provide excellent care while doing so. I'm so very, very glad to be a patient of this practice.

  • I absolutely love Dr. V.  At each and every check up (and you know there is a million when you're pregnant), he was incredibly patient.  I am quite the worrier, and he was always reassuring.  My husband went with me to my appointments, and Dr. Villanueva answered all of his questions patiently, as well as mine.  During the delivery of our baby, Dr. V was very calming and encouraging. Labor and Delivery is an intimate experience, so you want a doctor who you trust and feel comfortable with.  I completely trust Dr. V. and I am so thankful that he was the one who delivered our baby.  He has delivered the babies of four of my close friends, and I am confident all would give him a glowing review.
