While at Provider name locked. , my mother contracted an infection. The staff is uncaring and perform just the basics when caring for their patients. Her infection got worse and she eventually died at Provider name locked. with out the benefit of her comfort drug which is the morphine provided to the patient while they are dying. They were totally unprepared for her death. The nurses claim (including the doctor) that they did not know she was dying. It took two and a half hours for the morphine to arrive. My family and I watched her gasp for air for that period of time. By the time the morphine arrived she had already died. She suffered needlessly because of the uncaring and obviously unobservant staff. We thought we had her in a decent and upscale facility. The management of Provider name locked. was not interested in the negative treatment of our mother and chose to side with the staff. By the way, the nursing home keeps changing names, so that should send off a warning; however, they can't change locations; (USAA Towers on Provider name locked. Wurzbach.)- LYNNE M.
They are excellent. I would give them an A and then some. The doctor was there to examine him. They called me when my husband had to go to the hospital. They call me to let m know how he was doing. They provide clean linens. They feed him, which at the other places they did not. They check on him constantly. They gave me good advice on where to have him stay for his medical condition. They know what they are doing. They have all accommodations there.- ROSA R.
While my husband was there, he developed kidney failure from lack of water when I wasn't there. They do have a clean facility. They try but they are not accomplishing what they should. There were people there doing double and triple shifts. The nurse that was in charge of my husband's wing would get upset anytime I would ask for anything. They charged me $80 for my husbands medical records which should have been free. The food was good and the therapists were excellent. They go beyond what's expected of them.- ROSA R.
