Communication and bedside manner were downgraded because it frequently seemed that folks heard [they acknowledged what was said] but failed to act. Nothing major, but minor things can be irritating, too. One example--we were told someone would bring him facial tissues. After waiting several hours, I went out and bought some for him. The facility neither offered nor brought any during his stay.
A couple of staff members said he should get a menu to have some choice in his meals. He eventually did, two days before he was released. Although his choices were turned in as directed, not one of them was honored. On the plus side, for the most part he liked the food he received.
Although the floors were cleaned daily, a drawer in the bed side stand and a tray table needed cleaning. The table was very sticky and the drawer had Provider name locked. bits of ??? in it. It took repeated scrubbing with a wet paper towel to clean the table. Even after I removed the crumbs from the drawer and wiped it out thoroughly, the inside of the drawer was in such bad shape that I lined it with paper towels before putting anything in it. Not the best first impression.
I have to give the staff high Provider name locked. for friendliness to me. Without fail they spoke to me in the hallways and in his room. He reported some less-than-friendly interactions, but I did not see them.
The lack of cleanliness on surfaces patients and/or their belongings might contact was quite enough to make me want to avoid this facility if at all possible in the future. I certainly would NOT recommend it to anyone.- Susan R.
Their whole system is top notch. I really believe they saved my wife'a life a few years ago when she had a serious condition. Every single doctor has access to every other doctor's records so you didn't have to go over everything. The facility is first class and they've got everything in way of diagnostic equipment that's available now and they really utilize it to the Provider name locked. .- Pat B.
Our daughter had major facial surgery at Methodist. She had a birth defect, and her face stopped growing. They pulled the entire center of her face forward. It was amazing! The surgeon who did the surgery, would only do the procedure at Methodist. We scheduled the surgery 6 months in advance because of the long recovery period. She was terrified, and they were wonderful with her. She is beautiful!- Ruth M.
