    J & J DEVELOPMENT INC
Perfection. John Finch of J& J was on site, on budget and completed the bathroom on time! John even gave design tips that proved to be exactly what I wanted and didnt know how to achieve! His subcontractors were also on time, and diligent with their skills as well as leaving our home immaculate! I cant say enough about the satisfaction we have with the process and the completed work!

We couldnt recommend J&J highly enough. We purchased a spec house that they built in 2016, and we love everything about it - the layout, the finishes, and the workmanship is all top notch. You can tell that J&J really cares about even the smallest details, and that they only sub contract with people who do quality work. We continue to receive great service whenever needed from both John (owner) and Dagmar (office manager), including help with repairs we needed after a recent hail storm. Best of all, they are really nice folks to deal with. We seriously lucked out by finding this home builder, and we recommend them to everyone we know in the area!

    EXTERIOR CONCEPTS INC
The purpose of this review is to create awareness between your expectations and the reality of what you will receive. My father and I hired this contractor (Brian Loessberg) because he was highly recommended by someone who had used him previously. However, it was not a satisfactory experience at all. It all began when we signed the contract on 1/22/2019 and gave the initial payment installment to buy materials and begin demolition. The contract was to remodel two bathrooms and switch a toilet on a half bathroom. He quoted us a $$ amount and gave us an expected timeframe of three weeks to complete the project. He stated he and another person would have access to my home and all other personnel would only gain access if they were there to open the door. The project began 1/24/2019 and after some very strong and definite emails and text messages was almost completed on 4/5/2019 (11 weeks total). I say almost completed because I had to finish the rekeying of my locks by purchasing a qwikset tool kit at Home Depot and a door striker for the deadbolt lock. Halfway through the project we did add the installation of a door that was old and needed replacement, hence the door striker purchase. Additionally, in one instance when buying materials with my dad, he took advantage of him by adding the purchase of an additional door when we only needed one. He claimed that in the end the amount would even out to the quote he gave us. Shame on you, Brian! In bathroom #1 - we asked for removal of popcorn ceiling, old tiles and bathtub, old toilet, and counter tops. Also painting of cabinets, walls, ceiling and door. Later on we added knobs for the cabinets to protect the paint job. In bathroom #2 - we asked for the same except for instead of bathtub it was the shower base for the master bathroom and we added a barn door for privacy. In bathroom #3 - replace toilet Once bathroom #1 was completed, we looked at the work and overall to the naked eye it was done. However as you spend time and look at the details there are many flaws including uneven tiles and the paint job was done poorly. Cabinets were not sanded and the hardware was not removed prior to painting. Paint job was done with a brush and you can see the dripping paint as it dried. Once bathroom #2 was completed, also noticed the same flaws in addition to a few cracked tiles that were not mentioned or replaced and paint on the floor tiles. This bathroom has a window with blinds, which remain on throughout the entire demolition and remodeling process. The tub in the bathroom was used to rinse tools during this timeframe. In both bathrooms, none of the hardware was removed for painting. The doorknobs, toilet paper handle, and light fixture all have paint on them that Ive had to scrub off. My master bathroom was so dirty, it took me an entire day to clean inch by inch and the blinds I had to remove and soak in water. The window had residue of the popcorn removal stuck on the window that I also had to scrub down to get off. Some areas of the granite countertop have paint because the tape was not properly installed to cover and protect the granite. The last night the contractors employee came over,April 4th, I asked him to let the contractor know to contact me or my dad before coming to rekey the locks so I could give him a new key. On Friday April 5th at 2 pm, still no one had showed up or called so I decided to get the key out of the coded protected lock box..only to find out the code was on the whole time so anyone could access my key and gain access to my home. I took my key, locked the house and drove to Home Depot to purchase my items. Its a 10 minute drive and about 15 mins spent buying my items, when I returned home the lock box had been removed. Needless to say, not only did he not complete the job satisfactorily, he also failed to contact me to notify me he was coming over. To date, I have not heard or seen this person and am sure I never will. Brian barely showed up to work, so the work was mainly completed by his nephew who was incredibly awesome and had enough decency to apologize and face me. I was never rude to him because I dont believe it was his fault. Brian is unprofessional, dishonest and unreliable. I dont understand how someone can live and provide for his family on these business standards and practices. Lesson learned..you get what you pay for.be wise when you select a contractor. One important lesson taught by my father is never depend or rely on anyone.thank you You Tube for teaching me how to rekey locks. #fearless Updated 9/24/2019; On 4/11 I posted an unsatisfactory review on this contractor. June came around and while another contractor was fixing the gutters on the house, he noticed a large amount of water leaking down the wall from the master bathroom side of the house. He indicated he could investigate where the water or leak was coming from. Once given authorization, he began to remove the siding or wood panel to discover the insulation was soaking wet and further it had been capturing all the water that was leaking from every bath taken in the shower. He indicated that the hardware used when remodeling my shower base was not the correct size and was "shoved" in or forced to fit causing the part to go in side ways and leak. Again, payment was made to this other contractor to repair and replace the damage insulation, hardware, and siding of the home.

    DC Restoration
We lost our home to a fire on 30 AUG 2017 while I was deployed in support of Hurricane Harvey, USAA recommended DC Restoration to clear out our personal property, clean up and rebuild our home as they are one of USAAs preferred contractors. Since this project started DC Restoration has brought in sub-contractors that have stolen my property, former DC Restoration employees have made harassing phone calls and text messages asking me for money, and they have failed to pay their own sub-contractors resulting in a liens being placed against what was left of our home. The initial work done was so bad it not only had to be torn down completely they caused additional structural damage to the home, cracking several beams that were holding up the second story. At almost every step of the reconstruction DC Restoration attempted swap the above average grade finishes in my home for cheap knockoff brands without our knowledge and even attempted to re-use smoke damaged and burned stone from the rubble pile in the back yard, placing it back on our home and trying to pass it off as new. It took 11 months and a call to the owners of DC Restoration from USAA Management just to get them to finish the roof. Throughout this reconstruction DC Restoration refused to hire subcontractors capable of doing the work; instead they opteing for unskilled day laborers, destroying thousands of dollars worth of materials and cost tens of thousands of dollars in man hours as work often must be demolished and re-done. When DC Restoration was not utilizing day laborers they used in-house employees who worked on the job in their off time or as a side project. On average DC Restoration only worked two to three days a week on my home and only for a few hours a day. As of today 16 FEB 2019, 18 months after our fire there are still repairs that need to be done, fixing parts of the home not damaged in the fire but wrecked by DC Restoration. If this company shows up at your door, slam it shut and call someone else.

    J & J DEVELOPMENT INC
John Finch of J&J Development built our home in Hill Country Village. It was an extensive project with the tear down of half of an existing home and the remodel of what was left and then we added a whole new home to the existing home. John did a wonderful job. He was present on the job site everyday and if we called with a question or a request he always responded quickly. He did a good job of trouble shooting and collaborating with us as the owners and also with subcontractors when changes needed to be made during construction. Since our home was completed John has been very responsive anytime we have had questions or needed help with something. We would definitely recommend J&J for your construction needs.

We couldn't be happier with our master bath remodel! We planned for years to remodel our very old, outdated, and cramped master bath, but we were not sure how to reconfigure it. Our home was built in the mid 1960's when spacious bathrooms were not the norm. J&J was able to work with us to maximize every square inch of space to create the bathroom we'd hoped for. They listened to all of our recommendations and ideas, and provided expert advice. Our new bathroom is so much lighter and brighter! It feels so clean and spa-like. J&J helped us create a timeless and lovely bath. We would definitely hire them for any future remodel projects!

We couldn't be happier with our remodel! For years we planned to remodel our very old, outdated, cramped master bath, but weren't sure how to reconfigure it. Our home was built in the mid 1960's when large, spacious bathrooms were not the norm. Instead, we had an awkward layout and a small space to work within. However, J&J was able to make our vision a reality! Our new bath optimizes every inch of space and is so light and open. It feels very clean, comfortable and spa-like. J&J listened to all of our recommendations and ideas for our bath, and offered expert advice. We worked very well together to create a bath that we love. We would certainly hire J&J for any future remodel projects!

    Westphall Remodeling
Job turned out excellent. We saw Brad on Angies list as well as 1 or 2 more home remodeling websites. Their reviews were outstanding. After completing our home office enclosure and yall bath remodel it was easy to see how they have earned their great reputation over the years. The job consisted of a new wall to enclose an existing space which also included a French door. The work also involved electrical, drywall, trim and paint and wood flooring. Our hallway bathroom consisted of a complete make-over. We received 3 other bids for our project and Westphall Remodeling was right in the middle. The overall was right around what we expected and the end result was excellent.

    R K Barker Inc
I can't say enough about Rodney Barker. He is probably the most honest and conscientious contractor I have ever worked with. From beginning to end, Rodney was onsite to make sure the work was being done up to his high standards. He always made sure I knew exactly what was going on with the project and wanted assurance that I was happy with the work. His workers are outstanding, and just as honest and conscientious as Rodney. His crew is highly skilled and kept the place clean during the project. The most important thing is that our new building is of extremely high quality and looks great! Finally, his price was very fair, especially compared to some of the other estimates, and completed the project within the estimated time frame.
