    GTC Tree & Landscaping Service
They don't make appointments over the phone and will give me an estimate when they are in my area - no given time! The guy told me that he's not coming all the way to Rose Park from West Valley, UT (which is not far at all) just to give me an estimate for the 3 trees I want trimmed. How's that for professionalism! I guess they're too busy for extra business. I know that summer is their busy time but to say that to a potential customer?? seriously!

    James Batton Arborist
James responded quickly and was able to schedule the work in a few days. He did a great job of shaping the new tree - he pruned it and made "crutches" to push new growth in the direction I needed. He cleared a space on the black locust for a tree swing this spring, gave me advice on planting another tree in the yard and answered all my questions.

    Woodruff Tree Trimming & Removal
I needed a large elm tree removed and Woodruff Trees took care of the whole process quickly and efficiently. Dennis came out and gave me a fair quote and was friendly and helpful in teaching me about the trees we have. The crew was a good group of hardworking guys who got the job done well. They made sure to remove breakable things from my yard before they started and cleaned up exceptionally well. Would definitely hire these guys again.

    James Batton Arborist
He cares about trees and their healthy growth, pruned selectively, advised about how to nurture the and cleaned up completely after his work. Also advised us to never hire someone who promises to come in and top your trees sight unseen. Now our trees look great and you can see our house again from the street.

    Aoki Landscaping LLC
I first contacted Aoki Landscaping based on the work displayed on their website; I was looking specifically for a contemporary look without the cookie-cutter suburban feel. After leaving a message, I was delighted when my call was returned within hours and an initial meeting set for that week. Aoki Landscaping prepared a plan within the timeframe promised and was happy to work through requested variations to the original estimate. Out of luck, another client postponed their project, so mine was bumped up in priority. Joi kept me appraised on a near daily basis of progress and next steps. There were few days the crew was not on site--they were 100% focused on my project until completion and were not splitting time between other jobs. The project was expensive (I had lower bids from others), but the personal attention, quick finish, and quality of work were worth the cost. I'm thrilled with the results. Being able to support a woman-owned business was an extra plus.

    Junk Jr
Junk Jr has helped me on three different hauling loads from a stand-alone sofa I wanted to get rid of, to hauling a driveway full of yard and garage debris. They also removed three english oak trees. Very satisfied with everyone we encountered. Felt we were treated fairly and efficiently. Will hire Junk Jr again later this summer for more of the same.

Good Samaritan Landscaping and Concrete LLC.
I hired them to fix my sprinklers, lay new sod, and put in some raised beds on March 25th. They quickly did this. Because of rain I was unable to check that the sprinklers were working but since they had been prompt and so far seemed to do good work I hired them to put in bricks around the raised beds and in another area. I paid them for the sprinklers since I figured if anything was wrong they would still be working for me and would fix it. When I was able to check them, one line did not work at all, I could not control the front law from the inside controller, and many needed adjusted. I let them know and they came out that night. I then did not see or hear from them for over two weeks. I contacted them again and they told me that he had hurt himself. Fine but they could contact me. They finally came out and finished the bricks (one of the box sides would not go down because the brick was too close), adjusted sprinklers, and fixed the back line on April 25th. At that time they asked for the rest of the money for the bricks since it was done. I said if I paid them they would not come back and fix the front sprinklers so they would run from the inside box. They said I had to pay them since it was not for that project and they would come back and I could trust them. I have not seen or heard from them since. I have contacted them. It is June 8th. They said fixing the wires/valves, inside box was not in the original contract. It is. The contract says "If wiring and main line not working extra cost".It does say extra cost but it is in the contract and I was willing to pay to get the sprinklers working. I hired them to fix my sprinklers. Currently I have to turn the front sprinklers on from the lawn and cannot turn them on automatically, three different lines in the back have sprinklers that barely shoot any water out and are ineffective. The boxes are not drip lines but spray and waste alot of water. Not what I had told them I wanted. They also left sand, cut up bricks, sprinkler parts, and cigarette butts all over my yard and in my flower beds. They told me they would build a wall for the edge of the brick patio with the raised beds. They showed me what he had done for others. They used borders I already had in the yard next to the brick with a rock found in the dirt in my yard on top of it. Not much of a wall. I told him I didn't think much of it and he said he thought I'd like it since it used borders I already had. I told him that was a border not a wall. Nothing was ever done to address it. If you are into symmetry and things being even they are not for you. The beds are not spaced evenly. Not bad enough to bother me but they aren't spaced evenly. The other place I have bricks some of the bricks on the edge by the shed are longer than others for the edge. It isn't even on the edges. They asked for reviews from me as soon as they put in the sod. Beware of the reviews since they are begging for good reviews. I am disappointed they did not finish the work they were contracted to do and would advise others not to hire them.

    James Batton Arborist
He evaluated the situation promptly and told me what he recommended to be done. He verbally gave me an estimate of $860 and I accepted. On the appointed day and time, he brought a small crew with him to do the work. Everything went smoothly and I watched and asked a thousand questions. He graciously answered me and supervised his crew while doing some of the work himself. Overall, I'm very impressed with his knowledge of trees and shrubs. He wasn't pushy as I expect some of the corporate-owned companies are. I like that a lot.

    Nye's Tree & Shrub Services
Nye's actually answered the phone when I called, scheduled me for a consultation the same week, and performed my tree pruning two weeks later. They did a nice job and cleaned up my back yard perfectly. They are located in Northern Utah, and had to come down to SLC to do my job, so my scheduling options were a little limited, but they went out of their way to work with me.

    Diamond Tree Experts
Ive used diamond tree for approximately 25 years. Some of the tree removal jobs were quite large and others were smaller, but regardless of the job size, theyve always done a great job. All of their personnel I have had contact with have been very professional and courteous. One thing I particularly like is there emphasis on safety for the crews, with hardhats and rigging. They also do a very thorough cleanup when they are done. Overall, based on my experience, they are a well-run, professional organization that knows what theyre doing
