My Buddy The Plumber Heating & Air
Plumber arrived 1 hour early. Quoted $228 for the repair to which I agreed. Did not commit to an hourly rate. Serviceman went to "the plumbing store" for "parts" after 10 minutes. Called me on my cell to tell me that the repair was going to be more difficult than expected and raised price to $359. I accepted revised price under protest, but needed heat back on ASAP. He finished a short while later (total 2 hours from start to finish), told me that the repair was easier than expected because some of the joints "just needed tightening". No testing done. The furnace was not re-lit, and, in fact did not go on after he left. The gas stove did work after he left. Now left with having to call someone else to get the furnace working. He said (despite the company name) that he's not an HVAC guy and need to call one to get the furnace running.

Black Diamond Electric Plumbing Heating & Air
The serviceman Joel showed up on time and explained what needed to happen to get my new grill hooked up to our natural gas service. He went to get parts and completed the work quickly. He showed me what he had done and was very professional. The price he originally quoted me seemed a bit high, but when he was done he reduced the price because it hadn't taken him that long. I am now getting quotes from the same company to do some electrical work in my basement. Thanks Black Diamond!

My Buddy The Plumber Heating & Air
Jason came out on on Tuesday and gave us a quote. Jason and Mike came back on Wednesday and installed the gas line and range. My wife was very pleased because they got the top of the stove/range level with the counter top just like she wanted it and we did even bring it up. It took a few hours for the install but it actually seemed like it should have taken longer. We were very please with the cost and the installation. When we need their type of services in the future My Buddy the Plumber will be who we call. Thanks Jason and Mike

    Plumbing Plus
Our water heater went out on Tuesday morning, October 20th. I called Any Hour Service to give us a bid. We had used them in the past. They came and told me they would have to tear out the wall and the gas line clear to the ceiling, plus all of this stuff that was illegal, now. They just couldn't do it for under $3,500. I was floored. Plus he said you have to have earthquake straps. (The water heater is in such a tight place you can't get it out without taking out a wall, and it needs earthquake straps? Believe me, it isn't going anywhere.) After a day of stewing I finally got on Angie's List and found Plumbing Plus. My husband called and talked to Rene, who was very helpful. I then spoke with Rene and sent her pictures of the area so she could determine just what would be needed. They decided that it wasn't all that bad and they could do it for the "special's price" of 1,450. This would include an energy efficient 50 gallon water heater, so we would qualify for a $50 rebate from Quester.
We took out the necessary wall joints, their technician came and explained everything he was going to do. He was the nicest guy ever, by the way. He was so great with our dogs, very friendly and gentle with them. He had the job done in under 2 hours. Any Hour Service said it would take then 6 hours to do the job. Of course I will use Plumbing Plus again if I ever need plumbing done. They were honest and upfront with their service. They were prompt and courteous. Their customer service was excellent. What a great company!

demeaning.First Jason came out and measured all of the distances to know how much pipe and what kind.  Then he had me send him the specs of the generator to see how the connections would need to be done. The day he came with Mike to install it, they worked most of the day.  The job is beautiful not only functional. They cleaned everything up and left it all immaculate.   This is the third time I have used Jason and he is excellent!  Mike usually comes to help and he is polite and very helpful.  They make a good team.  I do not plan to use other plumbers anymore because Jason knows what he is doing and he is reasonable and prompt and efficient.  I did like the name of the company better when it was Duncan Plumbing.......the new name is kind of demeaning.

Manwill Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning
Called Manwill to have Napoleon gas fireplace cleaned and adjusted per fireplace manual recommendation along with checking for CO and bid for gas line for a gas stove.  Receptionist said service call would be $49, gave no other details about cost.  Tyler checked for CO with fireplace and furnace.  I asked about cleaning the fireplace and he said it wasn't necessary and didn't need to be cleaned. The fireplace insert was Not replaced squarely and we had to reset it since there was a 1 inch open gap on the left side after Tyler left.
Gas line estimated to be between 400-500 dollars or time and materials.  Asked for estimate in writing, refused to give estimate in writing because of fears that job would cost more.  I again asked for written estimate, saying a range was fine but I didn't want to pay a 1000 dollars once they started working.  He responded that I didn't want to get ripped off and I said yes.  (Who wants to get ripped off?!?!  And what kind of contractor is unwilling to give a written bid estimate?)  When I insisted on a written bid  but that a range was still okay, he said he'd have to call his boss.  He called his boss on his cell phone and emphasized (in front of me) that he had a customer who wanted an exact bid on a gas line.  I was taken aback since this was the first company I have ever dealt with that refused to give me a written bid for work.
When paying I asked how much I owed and that the office had said $49 for the service call.  He replied that the $49 is for the first 15 minutes and that he had been there about 45 minutes so I now owed him $93 but he wanted me to be happy so he would lower it to $71.  I had an Angie's list coupon for $10 off and I assumed he had taken that off before I wrote the check. But he had not taken it off.   By this point I just wanted him gone and I didn't want to rewrite the check so he said I could save the coupon for a future visit.
He heard back from his boss.  The 400-500 dollar verbal bid (that couldn't be put in writing) jumped to a firm written bid of $637.
Very glad there was no CO.  Disappointed in being made to feel like a fool for:
    • -asking to have the fireplace cleaned
    • -having to reset the fireplace correctly
    • -not knowing about the pricing structure
    • -daring to ask for a written bid
If I call them back I hope future visits will go better but I feel like I paid $71 for a CO check and a bid that I had to specifically request to get into writing that should have been standard policy.  Plus they still didn't clean the fireplace like I had requested.

My Buddy The Plumber Heating & Air
The company sent someone within 1 hour of calling them.    Jason came on a Sunday!!!! and took apart the burners on both tanks and found lots of soot, which should not be there.  SO then he took apart all of the exhaust ducting to see if there was a blockage...he examined the duct all the way through the roof.  He then pulled the baffles out of the water tanks and examine them.  He never found a reason why there was so much soot, evidence of incomplete combustion. He then took pictures of the soot in the second tank burning chamber to show the Rheem rep to find out why this would happen. Then he put everything back together and re-lit the tanks.  While he was waiting to see if there were problems with the heating, he checked the water pressure, examined my expansion tank on my recirc hot water system and found it had a ruptured bladder....and did an overall inspection of the mechanical room and the gas lines.  Everything worked fine and then he scheduled a time to return to fix the expansion tank and tell me what the rep suggested for the tanks. He found out why they would not stay lit, but had no idea why the soot developed in 4 years to that degree. That is why he was going to call the Rheem rep.
Excellent service, very professional, very reasonable for emergency service on the weekend.  Very knowledgeable!  I will use this plumbing company in the future....and Jason if I can get him.  I had just built the house 4 years ago and did not have the need of a plumber as now I have one.  Very impressed with this company's professionalism and service.

We were very appreciative as Brandon did the service the same on top of his already full schedule which helped us look good for our renters and didn't leave them without hot water or a cooking appliance overnight or longer. Thanks!

    Plumbing Plus
Everything went well and as expected.  It's really nice that the receptionist is a single point of contact and she is very friendly, helpful, and responsive.  We got two quotes and Plumbing Plus was more affordable and did great work.  I plan to use them again in the future for installation of a home water filtration system.

The plumber took the time to fix the problem and went over and above to give good service. After hearing symtoms, and asking questions the plumber climbed on top of my roof to clear a stoppage that was causing us to smell sewer gases. apparently the sewer vent was clogged, he got a very long sewer pipe and cleared the vent from the roof. in the rain..this was very impressive..
