    Cransten Handyman and Remodeling
Poorly. Steer clear of these guys. The front office doesn't give a **** about customer service as once they lock you in, they drag you along the coals of an open fire messing up everything they touch. They couldn't install dry wall correctly nor slope a floor or drains in the right direction. ****, they couldn't even read a design to see where things were to installed or read the instructions of how to install the accessories which, they did completely wrong. multiple times. we fired their first guy and ripped out 85% of his work as they sent their #2 guy. ****, he couldn't even put a toilet rough-in at 12"! For the most part he was good but missed out on a lot of details building our modern/contemporary bathroom that we now are seeing the errors as we go to install fixtures. even the tile was laid down wrong and we had them rip it out once already! Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with these guys. They have no idea what they are doing and worse yet, their customer service from the office are absolutely horrible. They don't answer your questions and avoid conflict of their shoddy work. Couldn't even get a supervisor to come for a site visit to see how the project was coming along. I have a ton of photos as to why you shouldn't even think about hiring these asshats on another device so google me and email me if you want evidence to how bad these guys are.

    Powell's Pro Building and Remodeling
We knew right away that we were going to like working with Powells Pro. From our first meeting with Rodger and Lisa, we were struck by how likable and professional they were. Throughout the project, they were sensitive to our budget while helping us design improvements to our house that we had never even considered (Rodger is a genius). The crew was wonderful, as well. They showed up on time every day, worked hard all day, and cleaned up every evening. Plus they were really nice guys. They snuggled our dog in the morning and were careful to keep sharp objects put away because we have young kids. We always trusted them in our home. In the end, the project was completed within the projected time frame and at budget, and their work was excellent. We are so happy with our house! The craftsmanship and care Powells Pro put into the project absolutely shows. They were not our lowest bid, but they were worth every penny we spent. We love the final product, and the process was better than we ever expected.

    PRICE'S GUARANTEED DOORS
Let me preface by saying this company has the worst customer service of any provider I have ever worked with. I primarily worked with Tifani, Jake, Trevor and JJ (who is no longer with the company). Most of these individuals lack integrity and do not treat customers with respect. There are countless examples of how when things went wrong they tried to point fingers and lie rather than focusing on making things right. After 100+ phone calls, 20+ emails, 50+ texts, and months of delay, we finally received a product that is far less than what we ordered. And with all of the issues we experience, Tifani refused to offer any sort of discount and stood behind the service and product that was delivered which baffles me. Here is a summary of the issues we experienced with Price Doors. - We placed an order for a new mahogany front door for our home in June and received it a couple weeks late from the quote, not a huge deal. - Jake told my wife he would bring over wood samples and never did. She followed up several times but he never brought them over. Again not a huge deal but not great service and when asked about it he said he never offered them (no integrity). - When the door arrived, the installers (Trevor and another guy) indicated there were 4 different types of wood being used which was different than the order. The order specified only mahogany and fir jambs. They said they would correct this to match what we ordered but they never did. The install was very sloppy, wood was split, things werent stapled in properly, and the transition was very unstable. - Once everything was installed, it became clear that the height of the glass between the door and sidelights was off. This was a big issue so we had them fix it. It took several follow up calls and reminders on my end to finally get Price Doors and the manufacturer representative out to my home. The manufacturer agreed to replace the door. - The dates given for the replacement door were consistently missed and 14 weeks later we finally had the replacement door. - Once the replacement door was installed it was clear the beveling for the door was facing the inside while the beveling of the sidelights was facing the outside. When I spoke to Tifani about this she said she would follow up with Trevor and give me a call back (of course she never did). When I called her a couple weeks later she said thats how it should be, beveling being backwards between the door and sidelights is how it should be? Of course its not but that is the type of response I am used to with this company. Trevor came out before the door was installed to take measurements of where to cut the holes based on our hardware. It was cut on the wrong end, mistakes happen, but this is what caused the beveling to be backwards. When I spoke to Tifani she said they do not do any cutting at their shop which is 100% different than what Trevor said. Please do yourself a favor and use someone else if you have the option. At the end of the day mistakes happen with many home projects, but this is not a company you would want to work with when things go wrong.

    Powell's Pro Building and Remodeling
Powell's Pro is Great!!! Rodger and Lisa were absolutely awesome to work with. Our project changed a lot from when we started and they not only handled every curve ball we threw their way, but they also helped us find creative solutions. They made a stressful thing like a large remodel easy to deal with and relatively painless. Love the quality of the work and really enjoyed working with their professional crew. Thanks again for all you did Powell's Pro team! We'll be recommending you to all our family and friends.

    Total Windows and Glass
They were incredible. The slider was quite old and the glass presented quite uncommon problems to replace. They not only found a way to fix it, but returned at least three times to get it exactly right. We are very lucky to have found them, because it could have had a very different outcome with a less diligent vendor.

    CertaPro Painters of Salt Lake
I had such a bad experience with this company that I would recommend you steer clear of them. Their estimate was higher than the two other companies I contacted but their TV commercials were well done and I figure you get what you pay for, right? Tyler scheduled me for Sept 25. I called him a week before to confirm and he said I wasn't scheduled until Oct 2. I have two emails from him confirming the Sept date. I also wanted confirm that they used 2 coats of paint. When a crew of three showed up one guy started masking while the another went to get paint. The third person had never painted in his life. (The painting that he did do had to be redone.) His main task seemed to be to help the painter and fetch things. The paint arrived and the guy who went to get it left leaving one painter and a painter's helper - who wasn't any help. The guy who left was supposed to be part of my painting team but was rarely around. One gallon of paint had to be matched to another paint I had already used. They took the paint can I had to Sherwin Williams (the most expensive paint store on the planet!) where they matched the color to the paint in the can. Now, a professional would know that paint, when dry, is darker than that in the can. Not these guys. The second day they came in and took down all the masking. I thought that strange since that didn't leave them time to put on two coats of paint. Sure enough, the old paint (white) was visible through the new paint (medium gray). The masking line along the trim are wavy and very noticeable. They had to paint all the walls again. I asked that my banisters and a handrail be painted. Before hiring them Tyler said they had done that before. The job involved stained oak with a coat or two of polyurethane. The day they started I heard them sanding and was glad to know that they were prepping the surface. I had to leave and when I got back the painting was done and looked pretty good. Later I noticed some scuff marks on the paint revealing the wood and the polyurethane coat that was not removed. I scratched a few more place with my fingernail and the paint easily came off revealing the polyurethane coat that had not been removed. Professionals do not do paint over high gloss or polyurethane finishes because the paint will not adhere to it. These guys did did it anyway. I am currently in the process of stripping their paint job and doing it right. On Saturday the painter asked if he could do some catch up work on Sunday. I told him yes, rearranged my Sunday schedule and gave both my phone numbers so he could call me when he was on his way. I waited until 4:30 pm and he never showed and never called. Certapro will charge you $45 and hour if they have to wait on you but your time is not worth anything. NOT professional and NOT courteous. In retrospect I wish I would have micro-managed every aspect of the job. It seems like the crew was trying to save time and money by NOT doing what should have been done and what was discussed with Tyler before hiring Certapro. I have areas that were over-sprayed. Even over-spray on grout that will not come out. I have areas on my hardwood floors that were over-sprayed and dripped upon. The bathtub that they used to dump dirty water and clean their equipment was filthy. For all their incompetence and my time and money to fix what they did I was offered a $300 reduction. Again, I would strongly recommend that you do NOT hire this company. Unless of course you want to watch every thing they do. Tyler, the crew, the franchise and the Certapro should be ashamed of themselves.

Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Salt Lake City
The installer this time was subpar (hence the less than "Excellent" rating for "Responsiveness," "Punctuality," and "Professionalism"). However, the necessary reworking was performed by another individual who was superb. On two different occasions a few years ago, Champion installed an outside door and several windows-- they did an excellent job in both instances, which is why I hired them again this time.

    CertaPro Painters of Salt Lake
This experience with CertaPro Painters was fantastic from beginning to end. From the quote experience with Austin and his excellent communication throughout, all the way to the very end with our fabulous painters (Gil Lara), we couldn't be more pleased. The house looks spectacular and we feel like they did such a thorough job!

    Universal Windows Direct
I am beyond furious this morning. If you are in the market for windows or doors, you'd best think twice before you engage with Universal Windows Direct. After being a month beyond the contracted install date, which was already the furthest day out on their "estimate" (I had to call, they never called me, ever), they cancelled their install appointment for last Saturday (having called me on Thursday to cancel), we reset the install date for this morning. They called yesterday to tell me that one of the windows was broken but they would still come to install and put a board in the window. The guys showed up and not only is one window broken, but a screen is ripped and the door is the wrong size and can't be installed (after having removed my current door). I now have my own door replaced with substantial gapping around the sides and am left with "it will take another 6-8 weeks to order the right door." ********! Let me be clear - the installation crew was awesome, professional and refused my tip for the work they had done because they felt horrible about my circumstances. What kind of company does business this way? What kind of company sets up their installation crews to take the heat for their incompetence? The clock is ticking on how soon you can make good on your contracted commitment - Universal Windows Direct... I'm waiting and I don't intend to wait quietly.

    Pella Windows & Doors
The salesman was at my house for 21/2 hours. He knocked a plant off of a shelf and broke the vase while he was measuring. He have me incorrect information. When I priced the same work once they were done, it was way over billed. The salesman made promises the Pella company refused to comply with. My first experience with Pella was so good. I didn't hesitate to call them when I needed more windows. I was really disappointed this time.
