  • Provider name locked. and crew showed up pretty much on time.  They were to install about 75' of curbing, two curving pieces around two flower beds and one in a u-shape around a large Blue Spruce, with the tops of the u touching the fence. He began marking with his spray gun, and our landscaper had cut out the u-shape around the Spruce, and he sprayed the paint quite a bit outside of this and informed me that he would have to take the curbing out about a foot farther than what they had cut.  I asked why, and he said his machine needs enough sod to cut and that he couldn't get the machine under the branches (see photo).  I said I really didn't want it to be that big (it's a small yard), and he began to walk back to his truck and said I'd have to get someone else then, that this is clearly stated on his website.  I had never been informed that I was to read his website before he came out (I have since visited and found sprinkler heads within a foot of the curbing should be marked, but NOWHERE does it state that a foot of sod is required in order to install or that low-hanging branches are a problem).  I then made the mistake of saying I was sorry I upset him, and he said he'd try to make it as small as possible, and I said okay.

I was working in the house during the time they installed, and when he finished, he said he'd hit a sprinklerhead and took me out to see it, and said I could buy a new piece at Home Depot.  Unfortunately, when walking from the driveway toward the tree and because I was focused on the broken sprinkler head, I didn't notice that he had brought the curbing out on that side so that instead of a straight line on that side, it curves around in a circular shape and protrudes in the area around the sprinkler head.  I didn't notice it until I took my husband out to see it later that day.

I feel he should have contacted me during this instead of just doing whatever shape he wanted to do.  I have tried calling numerous times beginning the next day and sent an e-mail wtih the photos, but have gotten no response.  I was able to reach his wife on the phone, who said to send photos because she didn't understand what I was saying about the shape and said the reason he doesn't call people back is that he is so busy working 12-hour days that he wouldn't be able to get any work done if he answered calls.  How's that for service?  He seemed in a big hurry and had estimated an hour, but it took only about 30 minutes, so I suppose he didn't want to take the time to talk with me or adjust what needed to be done.

In addition, he left sand (or dry unmixed concrete) in the street in front of our driveway, little piles of scrud (or whatever the pea-size and smaller mixed concrete is called) and clods of dirt  in multiple places on the lawn.  One was about 8" in diameter.

He did do nice work on the curbing itself at a decent price, but because of his attitude and lack of communication, I would never use this guy again or recommend him.

  • I hired Precision Pool & Spas to do a complete redo of my pool.  After the demolition the first contractor to show up for the rebuild of the pool was Provider name locked. of Provider name locked. .  Provider name locked. was going to be doing the new coping on the pool.   I had talked to him earlier about how the job was going to be done and what I could expect and when.  He showed up on the day he said he would and his men went right to work.  The job took three days from start to finish.  As the job was progressing I had plenty of time to talk with Provider name locked. and he told me the places he had worked and the kind of jobs he did.  I was more than impressed with his technical knowledge and the finished product showed his expertise!I would recommend Provider name locked. to anyone.Provider name locked. • Provider name locked. seems to have a near-monopoly in our area on making decorative curbing.  He had a backlog of about 3 weeks before he could get to us.  The Provider name locked.  he installed looks professional and well done.  The primary reason I rated them as a C instead of higher is that they seemed to really rush through the job as fast as possible - perhaps because of their backlog.  When they arrived, Provider name locked. estimated it would take about an hour.  He and his three-man crew were in and out in 35 minutes.  Be aware that they do not haul away the sod they remove, so that's sitting in a pile until we can fit it all into our garbage cans.  When they installed the Provider name locked. , two of our sprinkler heads were on the wrong side of the Provider name locked. (inside the curbed area rather than on the outside as we had expected).  Provider name locked. assured me that would not make any difference, but to my sense of esthetics it does.  I can't help but suspect that had he not been in such a hurry, he would have taken more care.  Hopefully it will not cause any problem if and when those sprinkler lines or heads need to be worked on.
