After all the hassle I have been through in the past year, including "help" from the manufacturer which was not correct, I cannot tell you how pleased I was to finally see a solution. Kudos for being so pleasant, so prompt and knowing your stuff!
- JUDITH K.
PG&E came out to our house on a Sunday for a routine inspection on a Sunday while we were out of town. They detected a gas leak and shut down our gas. Because all our gas lines were under the foundation, we had to re-pipe the whole house above ground. I called several plumbers to come out and inspect and bid to correct issue. Provider name locked. seemed the most knowledgeable and their suggestions were astatically pleasing for my wife. Provider name locked. was not the cheapest company, but it seemed like second nature to them and knew exactly what to do. It would be fair to say they handled the situation much better than I.
They work took a total of 2 day full days and everything was completed and finished as agreed upon. I would highly recommend Provider name locked. .

The short story - great value for price, wonderful workers, every night work site clean and tidy, job completed timely, our (contractor, my husband and my) shared vision was created, end product better than we expected. Would we use Provider name locked. 's company again - you bet, We hope to use them again to re-do one of our shower areas.
I spoke to several contractors, selected from Angie's List. We selected Provider name locked. 's company because he listened to what we wanted, was forthcoming about potential unknowns - upgrading the electricity to code and our concern for possible subfloor damage, told us that drawings and permits were necessary in Provider name locked. , when he would be able to start our job and that he felt he could do what we wanted within our planned budget.
Prior to the work beginning we received a written contract that included the work to be done and when and how payment was due to him.
Tear down was done quickly- all the original wooden cabinets, tile counters, soffits, appliances, under cabinet mounted vent and florescent lighting. When I came home everything was done, the worksite cleaned up, swept up and tidy and the rest of the house protected from dust. Of course, that's when the spaghetti mess of old electrical wiring was exposed and visible.
The electrical system in the kitchen was upgraded by Provider name locked. who was our primary on-site "Foreman." He did a great job of giving us more electrical boxes, upgrading the wires, re-confirming how we wanted our under cabinet lighting to look, etc. My husband was present when the City Inspector came and there were no issues passing his inspection.
It was at this point that we were told our ceiling was incorrectly supported. It seems a previous owner had raised a portion of the ceiling and added florescent lights. The lumber he used was over sized, caused 2 cracks in the ceiling, and the raised area was out of level by almost 1 inch. (I did confirm the "remuddling" by my neighbor). It was Provider name locked. to the rescue again. Down came the ceiling, up went correct sized supports, a new smooth ceiling went back up with plenty of "pot" light. The new ceiling was the first completed part of the project.
Plumbing, gas line and floor patch:
As I recall, next was the plumbing done by Bill - plumbing for new dishwasher and new location, water line for new refrigerator with ice machine, and gas lines for gas Provider name locked. top . Later, Bill fixed our flooring. We had elected to keep the flooring because it extended into the family room. When the cabinets were added we need to have the floor "patched." Bill did a meticulous job and we would dare anyone to be able to pick out what was already there and what was newly placed.
We picked out our own appliances after Provider name locked. gave us some great ideas to help same some money. We checked Consumer's Report and looked at several stores. We ended up selecting a suite of appliances from Provider name locked. 's Provider name locked. Elite (were we told they are actually manufactured by LG). The sink, faucet and free standing vent came from specialty stores.
As DIYers, we've never hung drywall. Frankly, I was a little taken aback when I saw the drywall up and taped. I was concerned that the gaps between the drywall boards looked too wide. I didn't say anything because by that time I already knew that if I wasn't happy Provider name locked. would correct any problems. When the walls were done, I specifically tried to find the areas I was concerned about and ran my hand over everything. The walls are smooth and look better than every other wall in my house! There is a small eating area next to the kitchen that wasn't being remodeled. It had a wall that the previous owner/Remuddler had "fixed." Provider name locked. took extra time to smooth that wall out so it matched the new walls.
We had decided to put in new cabinets because our old cabinets had stationary shelves, bottom corner units lacked the ability to add shelves or lazy-Provider name locked. type devices to make them effective, and to regain the area near the ceiling/soffit space. We did loose some upper cabinet space so that the view from the eating area would not be obstructed by cabinets and to show case the new freestanding vent hood.
Prior to the final selection of cabinets, Provider name locked. spoke with us about moving the cabinets and stovetop about 12 inches into the eating area. That small change made our kitchen feel and act like a much larger space. Provider name locked. also suggested that we allow the granite to overhang the cabinets on the eating areas side of the kitchen so we could use the overhang as eating or serving space.
Provider name locked. directed us to local companies to select cabinets, tile and granite. The cabinets and granite were completed in one day. The cabinets were installed by the local company but oversight of the install was done by Provider name locked. . I know it was Provider name locked. who ensured that everything was installed up to his and Provider name locked. 's standards.
Provider name locked. came most days to ensure his crew had all of the resources they needed for the day, to discuss the day's projects, and to spot check that the work was done to his standards. (We never saw any work being redone). He also talked to one or both of us each day he was here.
We never heard harsh words and we frequently heard Provider name locked. praise the team members. On the flip side, his crew was always complimentary of Provider name locked. and were keenly aware of his expectations/standards.
Provider name locked. did take a few days off during our project. He made sure we were aware of his future absence and told us that Provider name locked. would be in charge. During Provider name locked. 's short absence, there was no slow down, change in work flow or work plans.
As mentioned, we expected to have some additional cost because the electrical work had to be brought up to code and the previously mentioned additional ceiling work. As the problems were identified, Provider name locked. took the time to explain the issues, explain what needed to be done and with the ceiling gave us options to fix it. We felt informed and comfortable making decisions and the original contract was updated and signed to show the additional work/costs.
Would I recommend Christian constructions? Absolutely, when we tell the story of our remodel and show pictures we always emphasize this would not have been possible without Provider name locked. , Provider name locked. , Bill and Provider name locked. . We got everything we hoped for - a new and functional kitchen and more - a beautiful kitchen, more lighting, better work area, and an additional serving/earing area.- Diane H.
