Water And Smoke Damage reviews in Richmond

    Water Damage America Inc.
Impressive and seemed to be committed to quality. Due to a leak in our water heater (Water Damage) our house was flooded. We called these guys and they came immediately to solve our dilemma. If they had not come when they did, we probably would have had damage to our furniture and further damage to walls and floors. Their attitude and professionalism was quite impressive and seemed to be committed to quality. I would definitely call them again or highly refer them to anyone I know!

    Boothe Enterprises, LLC
Mr. Boothe came in and did the job himself. He was timely and courteous... He also worked around our schedule and saw to it that we were completely satisfied with the job done. He had some of the older spots still visible after the initial cleaning, and once again Mr. Boothe himself, came out and corrected the issue and gave us the highest level of professionalism!!

    Blue Heron Construction, Inc.
Finding a "one stop" contractor was challenging. I sought quality roofers (from Angie's List) and had several estimate visits, waiting days/weeks for them to confirm an appointment. Sadly, all said that they could only do the roofing and that the structural carpentry would have to be "subbed-out". This was discouraging, especially since several advertised that they could handle everything in-house. Outside of Angie's List I received a personal referral to Billy Abato at Blue Heron Contracting. Billy was at my home the very next day. He worked closely with our insurance adjuster to ensure that nothing was overlooked. The roofers and carpenters worked together to see that all the work could be expedited and avoid any further damage. Finally, the gutter team arrived and finished the last pieces. All in all, everything matched perfectly, they really cleaned up debris well, leaving no nails at all. All the crews were consistently punctual and diligent. We could not have been happier!

    DELISE PAINTING
We had Joey and his team paint our entire house. They did a great job!! We were initially hesitant to hire them because of the bad review on Angies list. We trusted our contractor when he said he had worked with him for years. We were able to get a reasonable pricing for the job. Joey is very friendly, trustful and is dedicated to his work. He knows a lot about colors and helped us pick some colors when we had doubts. Even if we have any issues or touch-ups to be done he always did that without any complains. Highly recommend them.

Paul Davis Restoration of W. Richmond
Work went very well. Paul Davis Co was recommended by my ins co as being the best in town. Two other companies not quite as highly ranked were also mentioned. Davis Co came quickly. They assessed the situation and sent a good crew. They are knowledgeable, hard working, personable, honest. , They tried to leave things in better shape than they found them. You cannot look at the walls and ceiling and tell that they were patched and painted. The paint job was great. They are easy to work with and you are happy to have them in your house. The quality of all work was very good(. I have had house remodeling done in Atlanta, Fayetteville, AR, and Dallas. over the last 30 years, so I have some basis for comparison. )

    Mr Handyman of Richmond
I spoke with a phone person who told me that it is around $200 for a person to come out and then $95 dollars per hour to do the first work.  Then they would have to return after the dry wall compound drys at another ~$200 for the first hour and $95 dollars there after to recoat the dry wall, leave and then come back a last time for ~$200 per hour and $95 dollars per hour to put a final coat or skim coat because dry wall needs three coats.  This  means it is now a 600 dollar job for a 6 in crack on the wall at minimum if they only spend 1 hr working each time.  It only cost me $300 to replace  1/3 of my closet ceiling from a hole where water damage was through another company.  I will not be using them.

    Michael & Son Services Richmond
When I called the company, every customer service rep I spoke to was professional and courteous.  The technician himself was professional enough and ran through the full estimate.  I definitely felt like I was being upsold on things, but I was very concerned about having water leaking through the ceiling so I authorized the work.  I declined the "luxury" toilet he kept trying to sell and went with a mid grade.  Low and behold though, his manager "approved" installing the luxury toilet for the mid grade price.  Seemed sketchy to me, but I had already signed and authorized the work.  The technician completed the work and I have not had any further issues with leaks, however the toilet is already loose and wobbly less than 3 weeks later!
This is my first home, so I have never purchased a toilet before and didn't do due diligence research on how much new ones would cost.  When I found out I had been charged $818 for a "mid-grade" toilet, and quoted $945 for a "deluxe" toilet, when the Kohler cimarron standard height 2 piece toilet they installed retails for at most $406 directly from Kohler and as low as $200 from Lowe's, I was absolutely livid.  This company will 100% upsell and rob you blind if you hire them.
I recently had a plumber from a different company out for a free estimate on another project.  He informed me that many companies, including Michael and Son, pay their employees on commission so you're going to experience up-charging and up-selling.  There were no labor costs on my invoice so I believe he is correct.
I will not be hiring this company again, everyone has to make money but this is absurd.

    All-N-1 Services Inc
Mark (?) came out and provided an estimate on the initial damage when i noticed my hardwood floors were warped. he suspected water leakage from a kitchen pipe and the water had seeped under the flooring. he suggested to remove the flooring first and discover the source of the leak before trying to sell me on just replacing the flooring to which i was extremely appreciative.
taking his advice i removed the hardwood flooring and discovered standing water, removed another 3 layers of vinyl tile (!!) and then had a plumber come out, found a pinhole in a copper pipe behind the kitchen wall, had the piping removed (along with a large section of the wall and removed the damaged insulation. Note to anyone reading, don't have the piping redone until AFTER the wall repair and the replacement of the cabinetry!!
Mark's team came out and removed the rest of the cabinetry that i could not, ensured the sub-floor didn't need replaced (whew!), laid down new backerboard and the porcelain tile, grouted, washed, reinsulated and repaired the kitchen wall, replaced the cabinetry and reinstalled the kitchen piping and kickplates.
They did an awesome job, the team that came out did a great job and were very friendly and professional the entire time and even worked in the rain cutting tile.
The only knock i can give is they were not on time on any of the days which would have extended the project completion time into another day but after talking with Mark they stayed late into the day on the last day to complete the project so i could return to work the next day.

    Service Team of Professionals

this was so easy.  They came in and surveyed the damage.  Since it was from a water leak, we need to coordinate with our plumber (though they could have provided a plumber, we had used our plumber for years) so they could remove the damaged area, the plumber could repair the leak and then they came back and repaired the damage

The coordination was so easy and they we more than willing to work around the time the plumber needed to be here.

Job was done professional , neat, and done quickly

    Capital Construction Services Inc

end result very bad,. communication on job expectations went fairly well as far as potential customer was concerned. It seemed they wanted to begin demolition prior to righting their estimate as once you do sigh it you are responsible for any cost insurance does not pay completely. DONT RUSH. That seems to be their thing. They inferred that were with a fairly large company. I was really surprised to see only 2 review. Definitely NOT a professional operation
